We love Keefe's, and especially our Service Technician, John! We live in an old, rustic home on the bayou in Slidell, with an ancient AC/Heat system. Keefe's has been keeping our system running (sometimes with a noticeable ""limp"") for years, and always seems to manage to save us dollars! They are prompt and courteous, and offer good advice. Currently in the process of updating our home, we are completely comfortable with the suggestions that John has made for our new system. Can't say enough nice things!

Time for an update! Keefes finally piled on the straw that broke the camel's back. We're done. I've been on Keefes maintenance plan for the past five years. This month I had my summer service performed. When the tech arrived, the ac was working fine. By the time he left, the coils were frozen over, the blower was barely moving, and I was told to get the new system sales guy out because my system is shot. I put in some window units and scheduled the new system installer along with some competitors to give quotes for a new system. It was news to me that a new system is around $15,000, money I don't have. I decided I'd hit YouTube and see what I could figure out myself. Turns out the tech removed and incorrectly reinstalled the blower motor capacitor. I switched the wires to how they're shown in the wiring diagram and the system is back up and running again. That itself was troubling and more than a little frustrating. I called in to Keefes to report what had happened and requested a manager call me back. I started calling a few times a day, never a returned call. I did some research and found the GM's name on social media and guessed at his email address. That finally elicited a response, including having the tech who botched the job give me a call and try to tell me I'm mistaken. It has been an absolute shit show and their response to their mistake shows they are not a reputable company. When something goes wrong, you're on your own. I've switched to Bryans United and am happy with the service so far.

Our heater wasn't working, so I called Keefe's to do a diagnostic a few weeks ago, and the technicial basically determined that everything needed to be replaced. He sent the money guy and he took a look and quoted $13k.
I called for a second opinion and their quote was almost half the price. He came over to take a look and found that everything was in working condition and did not need to be replaced...something was stuck in the motor. That was it. He charged $85 and everything is working perfectly.
How TWO different people didn't notice a bit of debris stuck in the motor and decided my whole system needed to be replaced and to quote an exorbitant rate is completely dumb-founding.

Keef-s spend more time attempting to sell you a brand new unit tan trying to fix the problem. To add insult to injury if all else fails they will go hard in trying to sell you their service plan. The only thing I gained out of this experience was feeling bad and defeated

Stay away from this company. They are extremely over priced and their
A/C techs are not knowledgable at all. Wanted to charge me around $900.00 for freon and a general maintenance service on my unit. After charging me a diagnostics fee I told them to get lost. My A/C tech came the following Monday and did the same work for around $200.00. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!

Wasn't very impressed with the replacement of my inside unit, half the house stays hot when the air is on and cold when the heater is on. I should not have to pay another $700 for them to fix something that they should have done when they replaced my inside unit.

I will NEVER use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone!!! We had to have our whole unit replaced which was right at $8000. They had to take down the attic stairs to get the new unit in. Once the job was ""finished"" they asked my husband if he could put the stairs back in. He told them no and asked if they would. After reinstalling the attic stairs, they left dirt all over the floor below and on my living room floor leading outside. I spoke with a rep at the office and she said ""They weren't supposed to take the stairs down. They should have stopped the job and called out a contractor, so they did you a favor!"" I have had problems with my thermostat since the installation of the new unit and they wanted to charge me $85 just to come out and that didn't go towards any labor. I wish I could go back 1 1/2 yrs and NOT use them!!!!!

I had used Keefe's a few times for service. They got the job done, but the service tech should have told me how much the R-22 freon would cost before recharging my system. (I've been dealing with a leaky coil for a few years. This year the cost jumped significantly - $400 to $750 for the same amount of R-22. Had I known I was going to be allowing $750 to leak into the atmosphere, I would have said ""time for a new system."") The freon that they put into my system in May 2018 only lasted two months. I decided it was time to get a new system when it was apparent the freon was gone and the blower motor broke. When did it break? During this bad heat wave July 2018! I requested that a ""Comfort Specialist"" come discuss options for a new system. Nelson was sent out that very next day. He looked over everything and provided me one option - quoted me their lowest SEER system, and padded with the need for new electrical. (I say that as the contractor I hired said the existing wiring was fine because the new unit would not be drawing as much power as the system I currently have.) What I resented was that it appeared that the Comfort Consultant made an assumption I would go with what ever would be lowest cost option - 14 SEER, single speed AC unit, etc.. Big problem was that he did not provide options after I asked for them! I found him quite condescending, too. Did not stop to truly respond to my questions, just went on with what appeared to be a canned presentation. I had been researching SEER ratings, single stage vs two stage vs variable speed AC units, etc. Did I mention I'm a single woman? A competitor came the next day. Looked at everything. Asked him about the need for upgraded wiring. He did not consider it necessary. Worked up three different proposals. I went with the 17 SEER, two stage AC unit. (Of course all of the quotes I received also included the gas furnace with blower and the coils.). Bottom line, I'm spending a more money, but getting a more efficient system. The contractor also brought over two window units and installed them to cool my home until they come next week to install my new system. (The company I hired told me, without asking, they would bring ACs to cool the house until they install the new system. The ""Comfort Specialist"" did not offer. I did ask him if they, too, would provide window units if I went with them and I got a mumbled ""sure"".)

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! They lie and use scare tactics to sell new systems! They obviously do not properly train their technicians. The service tech did not correctly install my capacitor and over charged me. The service tech said my furnace was leaking gas and my air conditioner was leaking oil. Thankfully I got a second opinion!

they quoted me an AC system at 21k and after i barked at the crazy price, they came down to less than 10k. ????? why would they not shoot straight from the start? Always get a second quote......
