don't believe the hype. i should have trusted my intuition when they told me the service call was ""only"" $85. Only? i guess that was to set me up to the outrageous prices they quoted me. they would not give me the hourly rate over the phone. i had called them
bc the new dishwasher in a rental
unit was leaking. turns out the disposal
was also leaking. the guy(s) that came out said they charged $300 an hour. they said well plumbing is expensive. Hello? $150 an hour is expensive. $300-robbery. the quote fir installing a new disposal- they had one in the truck $1000! which included the $500 disposal. i decided instead to get a disposal for $120 ( same quality- it's a disposal). if you wanna be sheared go ahead.

Just had to come here and say Finn H. and Will T. came by to look at a small leak by our water heater and they were able to fix it on the spot! They were not only super nice but were great teachers. I really appreciated their level of knowledge and willingness to explain things! Thank you!

Every person has bad days, and every business has bad days too. It's how you respond to recover from those bad days that really sets you apart. This is where KC home really shines!
I caught KC home on a bad day, I might dare say a terrible day. Im a petite little lady-- they were two large men who came today: Nick and Travis. I was pretty shaken as our visit ended with Nick yelling at me and storming out of my house. My door cam even caught then cursing ""f*ing done with that s*"" on the way out of the house. It was bad. But one call with Virginia and everything was good. She turned it around! This woman is a customer service QUEEN! Virginia is an absolute treasure and asset to this company. 1 star for todays visit, but 5+++++ stars for Virginia!
So what happened?
I called them because I discovered a rotten egg smell randomly coming from my laundry room. It didn't happen all the time, just sometimes. I googled what it could be, or all the possibilities, but decided I needed professional help.
Nick and Travis arrive, and they ask me what's going on. And I show them, they look in my laundry room ask about other bathrooms, and they check one of my pipes in an adjacent sink. In the end they can't figure out what's going on. They also seemed rush. I offer to start the washing machine to see if I could recreate the problem. Nothing happens right away, but it didn't seem like they wanted to wait to see if anything would.
I offered up the idea that maybe I got the wrong idea and called the wrong company. Since they couldn't figure out what was wrong-- I thought that maybe it was something wrong with my washer instead of plumbing. I don't know if they misinterpreted my words here. But they charge a 89 dollar fee for diagnostics. obviously I was disappointed I paid a professional to come out and they weren't offering me any solutions at all. I felt like perhaps I made the wrong choice and chose the wrong speciality to call.
So at that point I see Travis on google on his phone, (everything he reads aloud, I've also already read myself) They say they could charge me 200 to pour bleach down my drain and ask me if I wanted them to do that.
I told them ""no, because it seems like you guys haven't actually identified the problem, or don't know what the problem is"".
I didn't want to pay 200 dollars for a guess. Especially for something they just googled.
At this point Travis raised his voice, his body language was very scary he said "" THATS BECAUSE THERE IS NO PROBLEM, CALL ANOTHER COMPANY, I'M OUT OF HERE"" and he storms down my stairs and out of my house.
I hear them leave my house.. but I was so shaken up I just stood there in shock for a good minute.
I don't know if they misinterpreted my words or if they heard different words through my mask. I was in completely shock. I don't know what on earth happened. I was scared. I hear them say something along the lines of ""f**ing done with this S*"" as they leave my house. I've never experienced something so unprofessional before.
I work in a high level service industry, everything that comes out of my mouth is very calm, practiced and rehearsed. Not only that but, Ive been customer service for 20 years. It's ingrained into me to speak calmly and politely all the time, I'm assertive when needed but still gentle. I felt all my concerns and questions were valid and expressed in a calm reasonable way. I was shocked with the way I was treated in return.
It was a terrible experience
BUT from this point on, This is where KC home shines and turns it around! This is what makes a company and amazing one.
I instantly text and call and Virginia. My voice was still shaking when I talked to her. I mean--There were just two big men in my house, I'm a small petite Asian woman and one of them just yelled at me and stormed out of my house. I was shaking.
Virginia- Give this woman a raise!! She turned a horrible experience into a great one just over the phone. She knows exactly what she is doing, and is an absolute gem! I've worked with some of the most amazing customer service in this world-- and she really shines. She assured me that this is not how their company works, that even if I were angry or rude-- they should not have treated me like that in my home. She was kind, empathetic and assured me she would take care of everything. Over the phone she diagnosed and walked me through what the issues I was having, gave suggestions on how I could fix it and what I could try. She assured me if any of them didn't work she would send another technician over. She offered to waive a diagnostic fee for a future visit as well a 100 credit towards any future service. Again like I said customer service QUEEN! Let's all bow. She was the perfect mix of kindness, empathy and humor.
Even though my in home experience was not great, I can see what great work ethic this company is run with and wouldn't hesitate to refer them or give them another try

They came out promptly and we asked them to remove and replace a furnace filter that was lodged in the furnace. They removed the filter and told us the filter size was odd and recommended replacing the furnace instead!! We were charged a $85 service call on top of not replacing the filter. We called another air condition and heating company who told us which furnace filter to order. We replaced it. K C did not solve our problem and charged us for their ""service"".

These guys are great! We shopped around a bit, but just got a good vibe from KC. Their customer service is exceptional and their install team was efficient, helpful, and really friendly. Brooks, Rick, Morgan, and Darren were helpful from the quoting all the way to final installation. They explained everything and were really patient with all of our first time homeowner questions. I would recommend them to anyone! Looking forward to a comfortable summer thanks to KC!

The folks at KC Home Services were very easy to work with. When I called the office Leah and Virginia were both kind, understanding flexible with a time schedule for service on my HVAC system. I appreciated their willingness to answer questions that I had in regards to pricing. Bryan C came out and got my
A/C back up and running after troubleshooting a few options. I felt Bryan to be very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable allowing him in my home. Hopefully I don't need these folks again anytime soon, but if I do, I'll know who to call!

KC Home Services recently replaced our ducting, and added a brand new AC system to our existing furnace. The team was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. The quote that we worked out with Brooks was well in advance of the actual work, and KC took into account that this was a major purchase for my wife and I. Virginia, Brooks and the rest of the office staff helped us along every step of the way to include questions on models, efficiency, scheduling and permit coordination. The install teams of Mike, Anthony, Marvin, Victor, Rick and Darren we well-organized, well-informed, professional and thoughtful on how they treated our home. We needed some work done on our heating system. We went with KC Home Services because they took the time to write up a thorough bid. Morgan and Brandon did a wonderful job. They were friendly, wore masks, and did good work. We are very happy with our heating system now. Thank you!

I have really thought customer service was a thing of the past. It is not so with the KC Company Home Services. Starting with Virginia, who first answered the phone to Finn and Will, the plumbers who came to fix three thing., My experience was the most positive I have had with a company in the past 3+ years. Virginia did her best to move the appointment from the first available two days later, to that afternoon to fix my clogged garbage disposal. I've had two other jobs on hold since before the pandemic and decided to do those also. Finn and Will unclogged my kitchen sink as well as my bathroom shower, and made sure all of my drains were running freely. They also installed a new plunger in my bathroom sink. I couldn't have been more pleased with the jobs that they did. They were two of the nicest, knowledgeable and well mannered service people I have ever dealt with. Thank you to all the yelp reviews that led me to choose KC Home Services. I'm so glad I did, and will definitely go to them for any future plumbing problems.
