I feel totally misled by this company, especially since I am out of town and was having work done for a tenant. The plumber asked for authorization and credit card info before assessing the work to be done. I was never given an estimate in advance for the job. It was basically to replace a diverter valve in the bathtub fixture. The entire fixture was replaced which I wish I had been told in advance was the solution to the problem. I probably would have okayed the work but I would have preferred to be informed in advance. The old parts were not left (still waiting for the plumber to return them) and no invoice was left with the tenant advising me of the cost. When I called the company to find out what the cost was I was given a price of almost $1,000.00!!! Then the representative said she would e-mail me the bill with the charges for the work. The work was done almost 4 days ago, as of this writing, and I am still waiting for the invoice to be emailed (they don't have a fax machine). Not to mention that I have called everyday since and I get no answer or even an option to leave a message. While it seems the work was done okay, I am totally discouraged and disappointed with the overall experience. Lesson learned!

I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend them!! They charged $211.00 per hour to fix a capacitor on an outside unit. Total hours charged= 2. Thats $422.00 JUST IN LABOR!! The part was $70.00 and then all the other fees added to $70 with a grand total of $562.00. When I called and asked for hourly labor rate the receptionist said they do not have an hourly labor rate and they just put everything together meaning fees, parts and labor, This company has been around for a long time, the reason i trusted them. BIG MISTAKE!! They are a complete rip off when it comes to labor!!

If I could give negative stars I would. They do not inform you that their hourly rate is $292 in advance, then they can't do the work you ask of them. I had slow sewer drainage at my house and they were not able to determine the problem because they couldn't ""get the snake to go around a bend"". It took them an hour just to figure that out, then when I got fed up with them and very politely fired them, they took an hour to re-install the toilet they'd removed to snake the drain. So I'm out $1000 for absolutely nothing. Total scam artists.

I recently had Kane Plumbing come out and install new duct work in my house, I cannot believe what a clean job that they did and at such a reasonable price. My electrical bills have come down more than 1/2 of what they were. If you need HVAC work done, Call this company.

I have used Kane since 1986 because I believed in the support of community businesses. Having two old houses we used them a lot. We always paid our bills although late with interest but always paid since 1986. I also recommended several friends and the company where I work. However, the last couple of jobs were too high or in one case they charged $1,800.00 and did not fix the problem. I had to call Michael and Sons who fixed the ""real"" problem immediately. I will now use Michael and Sons!

I will no longer recommend them to friends or my place of business. Don't trust what they tell you..I was told to petition the city for payment of some of the bill before I knew it it was in collections and I had to pay 1K extra due to the judgement. I owed the bill no doubt but with my history with them they could have worked with me or called me to begin small payments. I was waiting for the city to respond . No loyalty....no more! No Kane Plumbing........ The management refused to speak with me!

Buyer Beware ! Received a totally outrageous invoice - after the service tech and office both refused to quote a price in advance of the work, 3 times ! Surprise, surprise= about $750 to turn 2 screws and unclog a toilet with an auger. Numerous line item charges that no one with reasoning ability would expect on less than an hour's work - trip charge, diagnostic charge...and then to top that off, at least double everyone else's rate for the services provided.
When challenged on this billing scam, their office pointed the finger of blame at the service tech 'who should have quoted prices in advance & usually does"" to the retort of said service rep ""I have no control over pricing, the office does that."" There ought to be a law against these practices.

I had the exact opposite experience with this company. They have performed work for me in the past and I found their pricing to be very reasonable, but during the latest plumbing job I was presented with an exorbitant bill for service on two hose bibs. I was told after the fact that their hourly rate was $200!! Most companies in town charge around $100. The quality of work was great, but I was never told their rate and jumped so high and I truly feel as if I have been misled. Not only will I be more cautious in the future and will not use this company again.

Kane Plumbing is awesome. Small company, but very knowledgeable. My family bought a old house. We were on a limited budget and when things started to go wrong (leaks in the waste water piping), Kanes came out and did a lot of work for a pretty darn good price. We've used them about three times...never surprised by high invoice or poor job. AAA+++
