We had been thinking of taking on a home project that seemed relatively simple, but required, among other things, a very tall ladder and no fear of heights. We'd thought about hiring a handyman service in the past, but were reluctant because of the reputation that some of these services have for shoddy workmanship and poor reliability. But we took the chance and reached out to Kama'aina Handyman via Yelp and were very happy with their service. Not only did they respond immediately to our request for a quote, they answered all of our questions and made some suggestions on how costs might be kept down. When we agreed on a day and time, they communicated frequently all the way up to Pohai showing up right on time. Pohai came ready to work and completed everything we asked in a timely fashion. But what really set them apart was when we had an issue, not of their making, that same day. We needed to make some changes, again not because of anything they did, but because we had a change of heart, but we needed the changes done right away. I called the office and spoke to the owner who was very understanding, put me on hold for a minute and came back on to tell me that despite it being Pohai's day off, he would return first thing the next morning to get the additional work done. This he did, coming to the house even earlier the second day, and without question or complaint, finished up the work. Not only will we call Kama'aina Handyman back to do any of this type of work again, we enthusiastically recommend them to anyone needing projects done around the house. Needed some minor repairs done around a new condo. Pohai was fantastic. Arrived on time and finished the work quickly and for much cheaper than initially quoted. I am very satisfied with the attentiveness and quality of service provided.

I have no idea how good these folks are, but they do answer quickly. My problem with them is their quote to hang 12 pictures, 4 floating shelves, a robe hook, and an iron holder was $500 to $800 with me supplying all materials, which I already have. I found this to be exorbitant. I figured a max of 4 hours, so about $200 to $300, but billed at an hourly rate so if it took 2 hours, I would pay for 2 hours. if they are really good and you want to use them, be sure to get everything in writing so you don't pay $800 for a $200 job.

I highly recommend. Joe did multiple little projects in my condo in my condo in 1 hour flat. He was so efficient. I really wish I had used his company sooner as it would have saved me a lot of heartache throughout the time of having my condo.

So over priced, it is crazy. At a hourly rate of $150 per man power I was quoted $2,200 to replace and install a door. I had had to do a double take and was even more specific in what I needed to make sure that they didn't make a mistake. Said the job would take 12 hours......No thanks, I'll do it myself.

I love this service. I needed a quick job done and they did a great job. They do weekends. They use mobile credit card payments. They text. It was so easy. I think the overall value was great especially when you need something relatively small and quick to get done and it is maybe just beyond your skill set or font want to take care of yourself.

Took awhile to get the job estimate, which is needed to schedule job. Person that came to install stove had some issues that took longer than expected. Upon making the final payment, receipt not sent asap and when I received the invoices, there were discrepancies. Contacted them but received no call back, text or email. Would not use them again. Poor business practices.
