Justin embarked on his plumbing journey at just 12 years old - working at Los Altos Hardware until he finished high school. During his six years there, he met a plumbing contractor who became his mentor. He immersed himself in remodeling, constructing new homes, servicing and repairing, troubleshooting, drain snaking, and digging trenches. After six years, he felt ready for fresh and exciting challenges in plumbing. He accepted a plumbing position with a contractor in San Francisco. After adjusting to the new setting and various plumbing systems, he became confident in his skills. His craftsmanship displayed neatness and a real artistic quality. After almost ten years working with top plumbers and contractors, Justin felt it was time for a vacation. Thus, in 2005, Just-In-Time Plumbing was born. Toot toot!

Another company (AllStar Plumbing) came out to try to clear my clogged sink drain. They quoted a high price, and then proceeded to fumble around with snakes for quite a while but were unable to clear the blockage. I asked whether they could use a camera to find the clog and they first said that was a good idea, but later said the camera was ""too expensive"", and what I really needed was just to replace old piping, at a cost of about $2500.
I then called Just-In-Time. Justin came out with an assistant, snaked the drain line to SOLVE the problem quickly, and then made some other plumbing repairs in the home, all for only about $200. We are delighted with his work!

i called up just-in-time on a saturday morning, and spoke w justin. we had a leak under our kitchen sink, and justin asked to me send him a photo, which i promptly did.
justin texted me back to check the sprayer head, as the leak likely seemed to be there. and he was correct. a trip to the hardware store, a new washer, and the leak had been taken care of, for $0 charge.
what a refreshing experience !!
all my future plumbing jobs are going to these wonderful folks.

Fair disclosure: I haven't had Justin do the actual job yet (though I will, once I actually get my act together), but I thought I should write this review of his visit for an estimate, contrasting it with my experiences with other plumbers I called (skip to the end if you just want to know what I think of Just-In-Time Plumbing).
My problem: a broken water main that goes from the back of my house to the laundry room in the garage. So I was calling a number of plumbers to get estimates to replace the line. Responses varied greatly. Plumber #1, who actually fixed a different part of my water main a number of years ago, never bothered to call me back. #2 gave an estimate over the phone; he treated me like an intelligent human being, but the estimate was very high (hiring unemployed lawyers to dig a trench?). #3 decided he couldn't for the life of him comprehend the problem I was prattling on about on the phone, and asked me to send pictures by email. I did, but never heard from him again. #4 seemed to take offense at having been asked to give an estimate for the job. His line was that he is a one-man operation, and couldn't be expected to dig trenches and stuff. (How dare I ask???) Then he recommended #6 for the job. Three different plumbers came out to the house and gave me an estimate. I generally also asked how much it would cost to temporarily just cap the line. #5 fist kept questioning my judgement about where the water main break was. When he discussed the job with his boss over the phone, he repeated my comment about pricing to cap the line: ""and then she said wow, $15 for a part to cap the line, that seems expensive, ha ha ha"". Unlikely that I'll hire someone who makes fun of me... #6 came out to give me an estimate, which started out high and kept getting lower. For capping the line, he first said, ""oh, about $250"". Me: ""what, $250 to cap the line???!?"" Him: ""well, maybe only $180"". Me: ""$180??"" Him: ""Well, there's the one hour minimum charge, plus the parts. So about $150. Or maybe $120, really. It really just takes five minutes..."" Then, just before writing up the estimate for replacing the line, he exclaims: ""Well, really, you don't need a 1-inch line there; 3/4 inch will do just fine! That's what you have right now. So that should be cheaper."" Then proceeds to lower his estimate for the line replacement again. Fat chance I'll hire someone who would have happily charged the dumb [...] $250 for a five-minute job.
Then Justin came out to look at the job. He believed me when I told him where I thought the break was, and why (wow). In general, he treated me like an intelligent human being. He said that to save money, I could dig the trench for the line myself, or hire day workers for it. He came up with the lowest estimate. And then he capped the line at the house - for free, in under five minutes. What else is there to say?

Justin and two of his men came to my house today to repair a leaking toilet, a stuck shower diverter and take out and replace the shut off valve so my new dishwasher could be installed. Justin cleared the minerals Mountain View's hard water had deposited, freeing the shower diverter. He offered to replace the part if I wanted him too, and had the correct part with him. However he felt he had solved the problem by clearing the mineral deposit. He had me test the shower to be sure I was happy with the way it worked. So he saved me the cost of replacing a part. He fixed the toilet by replacing the old stopper which no longer sealed with a new one. Next he switched the valve under the kitchen sink. He and his crew were polite, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Finally, the price I paid, including parts, was extremely fair. I wish I'd found Justin years ago.

i've used Justin several times now. He was recommended by a friend. I've had some bad experiences with contractors and repair people so I'm a little skittish when I start with someone new. Justin is awesome! At the end of the day you want someone who you can trust - be honest with you, do the job right the first time and not over charge. If this is what you're looking for Justin is your man.

Justin is the BEST!!!! He fixes everything perfectly, he's well-mannered and fun to be around, and he's always on time. I highly recommend him.

This is the second time that I have had Just-in-Time plumbing out to my house.
I needed my garbage disposal removed because I wanted the extra space under my sink. The owner, Justin, was patient enough to explain that the plumbing would still extend down a few inches below the base of the sink, so I was able to visualize the final result and decide if it was worth it.
I had it done and I am very happy with the work. Justin and his apprentice Andrew were very clean, very friendly, and professional.
Woo-hoo -- five stars -- as good as it gets, is right!

Hire Just in Time Plumbing! Justin responded quickly and professionally to the call for help to resolve a plumbing crisis. He was able to address the issue in a timely manner. We recommend Just in Time Plumbing!

Based on Just-In-Time's 5-star yelp reviews, I decided to give them a call, to clear the clog in my backed-up laundry tub. Justin answered the phone, so that was cool. And based on previous reviews, I thought he'd be able to get out to my house on the same day (since I was calling on Monday morning at 10am), or possibly the next day. However, he said ""Maybe tomorrow, but realistically, Thursday."" I really didn't want to wait three days, so I decided to call someone else.
In a nutshell, I'd say Justin was honest, and I have no reason to doubt his plumbing skills. However, for ""Five Star"" drain cleaning service, I'd expect 24 hour turnaround time. Overall, I have to give him an ""A-OK"" 3 stars.

Update: After reading Justin's response to my review, I'd like to point out that Thanksgiving was on November 22nd, and I called Just-In-Time Plumbing on the Monday *after* the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Called at 1:45pm on a Friday for an emergency and was told they would come by to help. Never received a call back so I called again at 5pm. This time I was told they were too busy and I should call someone else. Ended up paying premium rate to the plumber that did come because it was after regular work hours. Had Just-In-Time told me earlier they couldn't do the work there would have been a million plumbers ready to do the work at the regular price. Instead they told me they would come and didn't even call and say they had become too busy.
