Four years ago my old heating system finally died. Putman's came out and gave me a quote for a whole new system from Lennox.
The arrived on time and completed the job in less than 8 hours.
The system has worked great since 2010!
I had no problems at all, I cant speak for all the negative reviews on Yelp.

Rich was quick, professional, very pleasant and fun to talk to, and he loved our dogs! He said he loved figuring out a mystery and why our carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm were chirping at each other certainly was one. It took a little while, but he finally found out it was a defective smoke alarm in another room causing the chirping. It was very strange.
Marvelous result, wonderful technician. They have provided me great service from day one over a year ago!

We just had our pre-winter service. Mark Bowman was the technician and he is very professional and courteous. I am not surprised, however, because that has been my experience with all of Putman's technicians.

Had Mark B. come out from J.R. Putman to service and check my A/C. Friendly, efficient, prompt and honest. While he made recommendations he did not put any pressure on me to up-sell me anything. Putman scheduled the appointment as promptly as was possible. Great service and highly recommended.

Our AC went down in the middle of the hottest weekend this summer (doesn't it always work like that?) and the first repair company we called was booked a week and a half out. Luckily we called JR Putnam and they were able to come out the next morning. We received great service and my husband actually signed up for one of their annual maintenance plans.
During our latest maintenance visit I had the pleasure of meeting Mark B. He arrived early, went through all the necessary checks, and even survived a black widow spider bite (Ouch!). Not only was he quick and efficient, he was friendly as well. He took the time to inform me of a couple issues he saw going on with our system, but with no pressure to make immediate repairs. I appreciated his time and his professionalism.
I would highly recommend JR Putnam as well as their service representative Mark B.!

A year ago, my heating HVAC dual system (10 years old) was not working properly due to the air -gate control switch did not engage forcing all the hot air diffused to second story's vents instead of first floor's vents. I called J R Putman for the repair, referral by Gavin of FM107.9 with the $69.99 for inspection. Technician came to the house found what had caused the problem, schedule for the second repair a week later while he ordered the replacement part, cost: $200 with Silver Package.
The technician offered me to buy the Silver Package, which allowed home owner of 20% saving in repair and part replacement, with $15 per month that allowed 2 visits for maintenance and checkup per year that equated to $180 per year. It sounded good so I signed up since it saved me 20% right away with the repair.
After the selling, the technician started pointing out that my air return was not good enough! It needed an upgraded with new air-ducts for air return and the filter system that would cost me whopping $3,000!!! Hello, my HVAC system was working perfectly for 10 years. So I respectfully declined.
At the second visit, for the part ordered replacement, the technician also found out that one of the capacitor in the HVAC unit low on the reading, so he recommended to replace, costing another $200 on top of $200 of the fan gate-switch. Total of $400.
Six months later, I got a called from the JR Putman office offered for the schedule maintenance check-up. Technician sent to my house, found that one of my other capacitor for the AC was low on the reading, so he replaced it for $180 with 20% discount already factored in!!!
Couple days ago, just got another call from JR Putman office again for the schedule check up, technician came found that it's low on Freon, recharged the AC, and citing that my system may have a leak. He recommended the electronic leak detection test (without repair) for $300, with 20% discount, and the check was at $240. And this check has to be prepaid for the test scheduled for next week.
I am very sure with the leak detection test, the next repair will be whatever they found, and the cost will be around $400-$1,000. At this point, I had enough with J R Putman. I called the office and drop their service. The manager said: ""Good luck with repairing your broken system!"" WTH???
In my two cents, the HVAC system is very reliable, capacitor may go bad every 7-10 years, and it costs only $20 each, and you can DIY, easy and simple. All my neighbors had the same system that never had any problem, and luckily, they did not have services from J R Putman.
I would give them negative review if Yelp allows. The bottom line, if you have the service from JR Putman, think twice before give them a check because each times they came, there was a problem. And without J R Putman, there is no problem!!! Your HVAC system works perfectly, and remembers to replace the capacitor for only $20 DIY job for every 5 years.

Kenny and Matt were extremely professional, friendly, and hard working. It was a pleasure having them in our home to install our new HVAC unit!

I'm careful about selecting vendors. I had 3 different estimates who all had different ways to clean air-ducts. One was going to charge $700 for a sophisticated new way of creating negative suction. Another was going to charge $600 for creating reverse 2-way suction. But my boyfriend was not convinced that settled and build-up would be cleaned effectively without a roto-brush.
So when we learned of J.R. Putman's use of a roto-brush, sanitization and cleaning of the motor, coils and plenum for less than $500 - we immediately took advantage of the Gold-Star package.
Alin, the technician was professional and honest and punctual. When I asked him how bad our ducts were, he said on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the worst, ours were a 4! He showed me the build-up, pointed out different aspects of the furnace and A/C unit, how to keep them clean and what services the company provided. I appreciated that there were no surprises, no bait and switch, no additional tune-ups necessary. I was so pleased with this service that I've ordered another job for my mother's house.
We're very happy with the work, the value and the results! Ask for Alin!

Today Mark.B came to give our A/C unit it's pre- summer evaluation. As always with J.R Putman service technicians, Mark demonstrated real concern for customer satisfaction. After introducing himself and informing what he'd be doing , Mark got his shoe covers on and went straight to work. Mark made sure to let me know how long the check up would take, I appreciate having that information up front so I can plan ahead for any events I have going on. All around Mark was in and out and everything was good with my A/C for the summer. Excellent Service.
