They charge you for the time to commute to you home as well as the time to do the work. I've never come across a company that charges the customer for their commutes.

I would not recommend this plumbing service. I had resistance when asking for an itemized statement, was told at the last minute that my appointment would be 1 1/2 hours late, and ultimately stopped work when I felt the too much time was being spent diagnosing a simple crack in a garbage disposal. Most of the positive reviews here are old so maybe there was a change in personnel.

Great service by JPG today. We had the company come out to our home to fix an issue with our water heater. They were at our house within 3 hours of our call. There was some confusion about the charges and pricing which left us a bit disgruntled. However, we'd call JPG again for future plumbing needs and recommend them to others.

Highly recommend JPG. Top-notch, professional service. Everyone I spoke with was cordial and professional. No service seems small. Honestly, JPG was NOT our first choice because we contacted another contractor to come and fix our issue on a recommendation of a friend, but he never responded (which we disapprove of) so we went with JPG, which received fairly quality reviews compared to the other local plumbing services. We can see why it was quality. Mark was actually early to our home (8:30 am appointment.) One of the things we appreciate from anybody, especially businesses, is promptness. Not a lot of companies today do that, unfortunately. When there was a minor issue after the repair, Mark personally answered his cellphone and came back that day to remedy the issue. Even today, I called about the hot water not being as hot as it was prior to the repair and was able to speak to Mark, cordially of course, and he mentioned that he would come by again in a few days.

So yes, I recommend JPG, and especially Mark. I am sure their other plumbers are just as quality and capable though. They won't steer you wrong or turn you away.

Called JPG on Friday, they sent Mark out to review the water heater and also to see if my house would be a good candidate for tankless. After going over the pros and cons, we decided to go with a tank. They sent Jay out on Monday and he did a very nice job removing the old water heater and putting the new one in. He also gave me a good tip about how to fix my shower handle which I later did. I am very satisfied with the quality of work that they performed. The Owner is very responsive and the price he quoted me on Friday was spot on on Monday after the install. Just call and ask to speak to John and he will set you straight.

JPG Plumbing is top notch. I had a major plumbing issue pop up and JPG had someone there that day. Not only was the plumber, Jay, very personable, he also quickly diagnosed the problem and discussed options for fixing the issue. Plumbing issues are not something to mess around with. I was referred to these guys to repair a duo of water heaters. First visit was fine, they charged an amount that I really thought was fine. However on there second visit to finish the repair a few days later, they charged me 2 hours of labor. They stayed less than 1 and a half hour. One was working the other just watched. When I disputed the length and 2 guys present when only one worked, they finally, reluctantly reduced slightly the charges. Anyway, it was my first and last encounter with this company. The total repair was over $1100.00. Difficult to swallow, especially when $835.00 is labor. I am serious 3 hours of work total. I wish I could scan and show the 2 bills.
Update: They came back with a small partial refund and fixed the problem.

Was going to surprise my boyfriend by fixing the leaking kitchen faucet. I've done many plumbing projects before that went smoothly. This time it was one additional problem after another. Ending with the water main dripping when I turned the water back on. I called JPG and they had someone there within a couple of hours. They fixed the water main, the broken water valve under the sink and the leaking faucet. Everything works fine now. Very happy with the service.

I called, (10/19/2012), this company after the manufacturer recommended them for my warranty work on my water heater. I placed my call with my first questioning being what are your rates. 125.00 per hour was what I was told. Then I was promptly transferred to the service manager. I provided him with the fault codes, and he said he'd return my call if he could locate the part. Shortly after the initial call, he returned my call to say that the part was found and that the assigned plumber/tech was on another job. when finished I would be next. I was comfortable with this time. I said my wife would be home between 12 and 12:30 pm. The service manager told me that I would be called prior to the service call. I was not.

The plumber arrived earlier than the prearranged time without a call. He was in the home with my son, not an adult. Another issue. At this time my wife is home and monitoring the status of repairs.
His first attempt to install the required part was met with delay and failure. He had to leave to get additional parts. When he finally finished, the water heater was still not working. We were unaware that heater was NOT working correctly until following morning, 18-24 hours later.

Technician was paid via check, for hours of time not at our home servicing the water heater. We had paid for him to travel to get parts. I was not told or advised that I would be paying for pickup of parts at 125.00 an hour. Had I known that...I would had the water heater replaced. AND NOT BY THIS COMPANY!

Placed call to company Sunday (10/21/2012)morning. Answering service took message. JPG, RETURNED call Monday morning. They ADVERTISE 24/7 on their website. Service technician arrived, after a precall and quickly found the problem. He also had to go get parts. Possibly the same part the original technician should have. This PLUMBER was a TRUE professional. He DID his job and made every effort to ensure me that the water heater is fine now and that customer service is a priority for him and his company.

BUT...after calling the service advisor,(10/19/2012) after the initial shock and awe of the bill..he was rude and condescending. He simply stated, ""we fixed your water heater"".When in fact, they had not.

I will not use them or pass on this company, to anyone NEEDING any of the services they provide. If YOUR BUSINESS cant be forthcoming about your prices and fees...I will not need your services. Thanks. BUT NO THANKS.
