JP6 Enterprise Handyman Services is a community-focused family business that remains run by veterans. Our founder, who is Peter Cruz, was an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps until his tenure finished in late 2011. While his military career in the Marines, he moonlighted as a handyman to enhance his financial stability and gained proficiency in a range of skills until his duty to the armed forces ended. Soon after returning to Chicago in late 2011, Peter launched his own handyman business as a service provider. JP6 Handyman Services has expanded from a single truck and a toolbox landscaping and fixing showers to a dedicated crew able to handle extensive remodels and continues to grow due to your continued referrals to family and friends.
Our founder, Peter Cruz, was an active duty member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge in November 2011, he launched his own handyman operation in Chicago and enrolled in Coyne College for HVAC where he earned his certification in heating and cooling service and repair.

Kelsi L.I needed several different repairs done around the house prior to putting my home on the market. Peter came out and talked through my options on things he could do for each repair, provided me a quote and then set up a time to do them. He did an excellent job on all of them, making sure to only do what was necessary and not overcharge me for anything. He was very flexible and very respectful of my home. He took care of a wide variety of things! Can't recommend him enough!
Adam H.Wow, I could not recommend Peter highly enough. Great communicator, very friendly, and did amazing work on building my daughter's outdoor play house. Definitely exceeded our expectations! We will be using him for other projects.
Karen C.I have been looking for a handyman/company that could do various smaller projects around our house, and I'm so thankful I found JP6! It's so hard to find someone to trust, but the Yelp reviews did not lead me astray. I wasn't sure what the timing would look like during the COVID-19 situation, but Peter was super fast to respond, which is much appreciated.
One of our storm doors had been giving us trouble, and Nelson came out 2 short days after contacting JP6. It was a small project but they treated it like it was any other large job. They fixed our existing door quickly, efficiently and very reasonably. The quality of work was great, and they made sure to clean up and leave everything as neat as possible.
We plan on having them back in a month or two to do a few other electrical jobs around the house. I definitely recommend reaching out to JP6!
Elliot R.Over the last year & a half Peter from JP6 has done numerous updates on our 138 year old worker cottage on the northwest side. The quality of his work has been outstanding and his versatile skillset has provided us tremendous value and efficiency (Saving us time by not having to call & schedule different handyman/contractors for different things).
The projects we've hired Peter for include: Replacing our front door and apartment entry door (while widening the frames to standard widths). Installing a dishwasher & garbage disposal in our kitchen where there wasn't any before. Gutting our old bedroom closet and installing an ikea closet in its place (see photo). Drywall repair/replace and smaller projects like installing privacy locks on doors and replacing handrails on our stairwell.
Like any skilled handyman of Peter's caliber comes with it infrequent availability. He can be hard to get in on short notice because he is booked so frequently, sometimes on much bigger commercial jobs that rightfully demand greater attention. But if you have time to call and schedule something a few days in advance he will get you on the books and you won't be disappointed with his work.
With the amount of work Peter / JP6 has completed on our home, he's earned our trust and recommendation 10x over!
Rene S.I met Peter from JP6 about 6 months ago near the Galewood Metra station, he caught my attention because I admired that he with his young son working, showing work ethic. I explained to him I relocated to the area and it is hard to find reliable and professional handymen/contractors.
6 months later I had an emergency repair, I called and text Peter twice, he replied 10 days later.
On March 15th I needed my gutter splashed, we decided for him to come at 10:30AM the next day. I realized I would be 30 minutes late and I called to let him know and he said he was running late as well and he would arrive around 1PM, he shows up at 2:30pm, not a big deal.
He assess the work that needs to be done, tells me he is going to Home Depot to get materials and he will be right back; there are 2 within 1 mile. 2 hours later I call him and he is at another job getting a quote. I explained to him that I am waiting and to respect my time, he replies ""Your job is only $150, I am quoting a $5000 job"". I explain to him small jobs lead to big jobs and you cannot have me waiting for you all day, I have things to do as well.
Coincidentally needed a quote for a major plumbing repair and though he is not a licensed plumber it seems like he can do the job for considerably less than the quotes I was receiving. He was going to come back that night but it got late so we decided 8AM the following day. I call him at 9am, he said he is on his way, no problem, told him I had to leave. I call him at 2PM to see if he arrived and he said he is just pulling up. I told him this is ridiculous and he says ""I am sick of your shit, your complaining"" and he leaves.
The minor work he did was great but his professionalism, respect for my time and promptness was horrible.
Teresa M.Pete in JP6 Enterprise Handyman Services completed a second list of repairs and services for me recently. The company is great. The owner is personable and takes an interest in the project and what the customer wants. He and his sub-contractors went above and beyond my expectations to be certain the repairs were completed professionally and in a timely manner. Pete assisted in dealing with insurance appraiser issues. I will definitely use this company in the future. They are prompt and honestly leave my home cleaner than when they came......a pleasure to work with each of them. I've had several of his sub contractors do different jobs....each is great. will say it's pretty expensive....but tasks I am unable to do myself.
My elderly Mom had a rather urgent plumbing issue with a leaking bathroom faucet (old house/original pipes) that wouldn't turn off. Peter was prompt and repaired the problem the same day and at a fair price. He is honest and trustworthy!
Pete came over to install a storm door that had been installed improperly by someone else. He did an amazing job! So good- this is my first Yelp review- I had to share. He explains what he'll be doing so no surprises and cleans up very well after he's done. We will definitely be calling him for more home improvement jobs. We bought an older house and in the 3 years of having people come over to do improvements he's been the absolute best. Thank you!
Denise B.JP6 Enterprise Handyman Services is a great company to utilize for complex work to minor odd jobs. I requested services for the assembly of a large cube organizer. Peter was very professional, knowledgeable and swiftly completed the work. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is in need of handyman services.
I highly recommend JP6 Enterprise Handyman Services. I got a front door installed Peter did a great and neat job. I will do more business with this company in the near future.
