My name is Joseph Giannone, and I am the founder and owner of Joseph Giannone Plumbing & Heating. In 1929, my grandfather, Joe Giannone, launched his plumbing business. I am honored to be part of the third generation of plumbers in my family.

At 16, I started learning plumbing from my dad. Growing up, I spent 10 years working in my father's plumbing specialty company and supply store, Moore Plumbing, where I learned about plumbing supplies and gained a wealth of knowledge in the plumbing field. I developed the ability to rebuild faucets. Following my experience at the supply store, I underwent five years of training to become a master in my field. I graduated from Dobbins Vo-Tech School and achieved my master plumber status in 1978.

I am a native of South Philadelphia, where I was born and raised. I appreciate the city and the dynamic energy that accompanies living and working here. I take pride in my work, helping to solve daily challenges. I am proud to serve my community and deliver the best service possible to residents.

I initially did not have such a great experience making an appointment, but the owner went out of his way to come to my home on a Saturday to make it right which was greatly appreciated. Nice guy and very hard-working!

My heater stopped working the other day. Service man came to the house and said the problem was due to a faulty thermocouple valve which would cost me $279.00. He then tried to sell me a 'membership' fee of $129.00, stating that in the event their was an additional problem in the future, I would have to pay an additional $129.00 service fee, and that this 'membership fee' would waive that. He then offered to 'run a test' on the heater to see if it was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and I agreed. He worked on the heater for a few minutes and said the test showed the heater was indeed emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and that, by law, he would have to shut the heater down. He said it could be replaced for charge of anywhere between $5,000 and $10,000. I told him no thank you. This joker then tried to charge me $149.00 for doing nothing but shutting my heater down, and trying to scam me. I threw him out.
Called Cardullo mechanical--problem was fixed for $300.00. I'll go to court before I pay Giannone one red cent.

This is an outstanding firm. I have been a customer for several years, big and small plumbing jobs. My experience is that:
* The job gets done right.
* Joseph's estimate is what he's going to charge, no matter what crazy unanticipated problem your aging house springs on him.
* Every plumber working for this firm has been polite, expert, and punctual.
* Joseph returns calls the same day.

Having had awful experiences in the past with HVAC companies we were extremely happy with Joseph Giannone. Sean Muldoon was our technician and he was fast, to the point and so friendly! And made sure our air was fixed the same day even though it meant he had to wait around for a part. I would highly recommend Joseph Giannone! Also, they send a text with a description of your tech with a little back ground and a photo. Definitely our new HVAC guy!

I will never use this company again! We just moved into our house a few months ago and we were having some issues with our hot water not working properly in our bathrooms. We called Joseph Giannone and they sent out a guy who kept repeating how he basically had never seen an issue like ours before and wasn't sure how to fix it. He got some help over the phone and proceeded to adjust a piece in each of the showers. He fixed the first 2 without an issue, but broke a piece on the last shower trying to put everything back together. The job was initially priced at $275 but once they broke the piece we were expected to pay for it, which cost an additional $52. Before it was fixed I expressed my issues with having to pay extra to Joe over the phone. Once it was fixed, I received a bill that still included the charge for the piece. I again expressed my issues (now to the worker Dennis who broke it) with having to pay for something that he clearly broke and he became extremely aggressive towards me. Yelling and pointing his finger in my face telling me ""you don't know anything about plumbing!"" and ""I've gone out of my way for you!"" We had a massive leak after he broke the piece, and had to turn the main water valve on and off every time we absolutely needed the water in our household. We had to deal with the inconvenience for a week until the new part arrived. They were also supposed to fix a sink for us, and it was never fixed. Apparently, he went out of his way by even looking at it? I work in the customer service industry managing a restaurant. This is the first negative review I've posted about any business but I'm absolutely appalled by the way I was treated. I could never imagine yelling in a customers face ""you have no idea how to run a restaurant!"" He was right that I don't know the first thing about plumbing, but I do know that the way I was treated is no way to run a business!

Looking for a plumber? Stop right here! Joe and his staff are the best! Knowledgeable, accommodating and reliable. They bailed me out quickly of a bad gas issue inside my 1770 circa house. We discussed all of the options, Joe came at 6 am to see the issue and had it resolved in no time.
You won't find a better company to resolve your plumbing needs!

So, just as many of the other low raters, I was stood up without any call from this company after a verbal agreement from 'Joe' that they'd call me the next morning to firm up the appointment. I initially called yesterday at around 1pm to see about availability for an appointment. The number appears to go to some answering service where you leave your information with someone and this person answering says to expect a call. I get a call back just before 4:30pm which I missed by minutes (listed as 'private number') and called the company number back only to be received by the same answering service which then took my same information once again. At around 5:30 pm I get a call from 'Joe' himself (again 'private number' appears on my cell phone) and after discussing the plumbing issue I am experiencing he asks if he can call me back the next morning and that someone be at my residence. I said I could make myself available (meaning take a day off from the office to be at home) and so made arrangements to take the day off from work just so I could take the call and perhaps schedule a same day visit from 'Joe' or a rep to assess the work, etc... All day, nobody calls. While I was waiting for the call in the morning, I investigated the issue myself (thanks, google), then at noon I left my house and went to a supply store for possible repair parts, returned back home to install parts, and solved the issue myself. All the while, no phone call was made by the company. It's 8pm and still no call. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional.

I had a leak in some pipes between my main floor and basement that caused a bit of a mess. I was really concerned that the issue was the main sewage pipe. Since I didn't have a plumber relationship, I did a lot of research and read a number of reviews. With a lot of other plumbers, a common theme was, ""they turned what I thought was a small job into a huge, expensive job."" I finally settled on Giannone Plumbing because the reviews seemed positive. I scheduled an appointment to have them come out and take a look.

Right before they were scheduled to come, we had to rush one of our kids to the hospital, where we still are after 2 days. We're sleep deprived and desperate to get this fixed - pretty much primed to be taken advantage of. Brandon Cook came to our house and inspected. He explained to my mother-in-law that the issue was not the main sewage line (would have been very expensive) and that instead it was a relatively minor fix. He signed us up for their service partner program which saved us a good bit and was generally very nice and helpful and took the time to make sure we understood what was going on.

I really appreciate the professionalism, courtesy and general helpfulness. I would absolutely call these guys again without hesitation. Thanks Brandon!
