I am Joseph Giannone, the owner and founder of Joseph Giannone Plumbing & Heating. My grandfather, Joe Giannone, established his plumbing business back in 1929. I am honored to be part of the third generation of plumbers in my family.
I learned the trade from my father starting at the age of 16. As I grew up, I dedicated 10 years to working in my father's plumbing specialty company and supply store, Moore Plumbing, where I sold plumbing parts and supplies, gaining valuable insights into the plumbing industry. I also learned how to rebuild faucets. After my time at the supply store, I trained for five years to master my craft. I earned my master plumber certification in 1978 after graduating from Dobbins Vo-Tech School.
I am a native of South Philadelphia, where I was born and raised. I cherish the city and the vibrant energy that comes with living and working here. I find fulfillment in my trade by meeting everyday plumbing needs. I take pride in my city and strive to offer residents the highest quality service.

$55 fee to for an estimate. Not a problem, however I had to continue to call them to get the actual estimate...several days later and the estimate was almost $1,000 to replace a single drain. WAY overpriced. If you didn't want the job you should have said so before you came out and charged the initial $55 fee. I'll be sure to let everyone I know not to use you
I wouldn't recommend these plumbers to my worst enemy. It was extremely frustrating working with Joseph and his crew. The lack of common sense required them to redo so many tasks, causing delays to the project. Additionally, they broke my toilet tank while installing and went ahead and installed it without informing about it, causing the tank to leak. They did not come back to finish the project and I had to get another contractor to finish his half-done job. And the audacity after a year and half of not showing up or sending me a bill he has sent my dues to the collection agency. I have proof of canceled checks and bids that I had to get someone else to finish up his jobs. But he won't withdraw his claim. Stay away from this one!
I would never use this plumbing service again. They provided shoddy work at best and charged a lot. Joe came out and incorrectly diagnosed our sump issue. They ordered and replaced a part that did not solve the problem. Worse, it resulted in damage to our finished basement wood floor. We had to have another company come out who diagnosed the problem quickly and correctly, and replaced the correct part.
I was not home when Giannone's ""mechanic"" came out and they charged me for 51/2 hours labor @ $145/hour to replace the wrong part and turn on various (but not all) faucets to check for what Joe called potential ""crossover"" of pipes. Please think twice before you hire this company.
Tim L.Terrible service to current customers. No showed 2 times and lied both times about calling a couple days before to reschedule. Missed 2 days of work for nothing!
never returned a call or email
went with Ed Mattio instead, was ta my house same day
Juliana G.I initially did not have such a great experience making an appointment, but the owner went out of his way to come to my home on a Saturday to make it right which was greatly appreciated. Nice guy and very hard-working!
My heater stopped working the other day. Service man came to the house and said the problem was due to a faulty thermocouple valve which would cost me $279.00. He then tried to sell me a 'membership' fee of $129.00, stating that in the event their was an additional problem in the future, I would have to pay an additional $129.00 service fee, and that this 'membership fee' would waive that. He then offered to 'run a test' on the heater to see if it was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and I agreed. He worked on the heater for a few minutes and said the test showed the heater was indeed emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and that, by law, he would have to shut the heater down. He said it could be replaced for charge of anywhere between $5,000 and $10,000. I told him no thank you. This joker then tried to charge me $149.00 for doing nothing but shutting my heater down, and trying to scam me. I threw him out.
Called Cardullo mechanical--problem was fixed for $300.00. I'll go to court before I pay Giannone one red cent.
This is an outstanding firm. I have been a customer for several years, big and small plumbing jobs. My experience is that:
* The job gets done right.
* Joseph's estimate is what he's going to charge, no matter what crazy unanticipated problem your aging house springs on him.
* Every plumber working for this firm has been polite, expert, and punctual.
* Joseph returns calls the same day.
Having had awful experiences in the past with HVAC companies we were extremely happy with Joseph Giannone. Sean Muldoon was our technician and he was fast, to the point and so friendly! And made sure our air was fixed the same day even though it meant he had to wait around for a part. I would highly recommend Joseph Giannone! Also, they send a text with a description of your tech with a little back ground and a photo. Definitely our new HVAC guy!
I will never use this company again! We just moved into our house a few months ago and we were having some issues with our hot water not working properly in our bathrooms. We called Joseph Giannone and they sent out a guy who kept repeating how he basically had never seen an issue like ours before and wasn't sure how to fix it. He got some help over the phone and proceeded to adjust a piece in each of the showers. He fixed the first 2 without an issue, but broke a piece on the last shower trying to put everything back together. The job was initially priced at $275 but once they broke the piece we were expected to pay for it, which cost an additional $52. Before it was fixed I expressed my issues with having to pay extra to Joe over the phone. Once it was fixed, I received a bill that still included the charge for the piece. I again expressed my issues (now to the worker Dennis who broke it) with having to pay for something that he clearly broke and he became extremely aggressive towards me. Yelling and pointing his finger in my face telling me ""you don't know anything about plumbing!"" and ""I've gone out of my way for you!"" We had a massive leak after he broke the piece, and had to turn the main water valve on and off every time we absolutely needed the water in our household. We had to deal with the inconvenience for a week until the new part arrived. They were also supposed to fix a sink for us, and it was never fixed. Apparently, he went out of his way by even looking at it? I work in the customer service industry managing a restaurant. This is the first negative review I've posted about any business but I'm absolutely appalled by the way I was treated. I could never imagine yelling in a customers face ""you have no idea how to run a restaurant!"" He was right that I don't know the first thing about plumbing, but I do know that the way I was treated is no way to run a business!
