Well over 15 emails back and forth with Jolly Plumbing. I need to file a complaint now with Consumer Affairs through the Attorney General's office in Kentucky. As you can see, even the owner doesnt know anything. At Jolly Plumbing, the left arm doesnt seem to know what the right arm is doing, but they'll charge you $70,000 at the drop of a hat and take your house from you. If you have a plumbing issue, get as many estimates as you can, and don't hire Jolly Plumbing.
Isaiah Maines....what can I say. He came in, traced the entire gas line, which a different plumber didn't do, and figured out why our dryer was getting no gas. Seems a pressure tester turned the line off in a remote area of our garage and never turned it back on. So not only did we dispose of what was probably a perfectly good gas dryer but have sent two new ones back to the appliance store assuming the dryers were defective. Once the first plumber told us our line was good (I don't know how since gas was turned off), we had Jolly/Isaiah come out after the second new dryer didn't heat. He did his job and did it well! While I'm frustrated this all has cost throwing out a perfectly good dryer, the purchase of a new dryer because it was assumed the first dryer was not worth fixing, and a second plumbing service call, I'm glad it was figured out. Thanks Jolly and thanks Isaiah!!
I live in Downtown Covington KY and I have used Jolly Plumbing for over two years. I have always been pleased with their service & pricing. Recently I called Jolly to fix/replace a bathtub faucet. The price for labor was quoted was just under $1000. I am glad I purchased a replacement faucet @ Lowes because they quoted an additional $500 if I needed a faucet. OUTRAGEOUS PRICING!. The bathtub faucet had a substantial leak and I needed to get it repaired sooner, rather than later. So I authorized the work. It took the two plumbers 4 hours to complete the job. They left the job site for over 2 hours because they had to get a part.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed! Somehow the word ""greedy"" doesn't cover my feelings about this job. Approximately 1.5 years ago Jolly replaced a bathroom sink faucet. They charged $399. And, in October of 2021 Jolly replaced two furnaces at this property for a total of $10,000. I have spent substantial money with Jolly and thought that those past ""purchases"" would give me some consideration with Jolly. Apparently not. I will never use them again!
Taylor H.When I used to live in Newport I used Jolly several times. They were professional and timely. Highly recommend!
I tried using another local plumber, and he didn't fix the issue and was unprofessional.
Can't believe how good these guys are!
Jennifer B.The worst service I have had from a home service company. Left things all over, did not replace where they came from. Sorry I had to leave while Zack was still here. Big regret, I contacted the company and complained, they said they would refund 10%, that is about $10.00. big deal. And that has been two weeks and I haven't even got that from them. DO NOT USE JOLLY PLUMBING. Oh they replaced a faucet on my bathtub,. Again BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!
LORD NO!!!! They charged me $250 an hour labor for 4 hours work. They say they don't charge by the hour, but $1,000 divide by four hours is simple math. I got soaked.
My first disappointment was upon arrival. The two technicians were not wearing masks, nor did the cover their feet to avoid tracking things through the house. The website makes it sound like they'll use a camera to diagnose the problem. (we had a clogged sink) However, they don't do that unless you're a ""member."" They didn't even have it with them. Ultimately, I paid $300 to have them snake the drain that will likely clog again. We provided the technicians with towels, but they didn't use them and left a mess instead. I do not recommend calling this company if you have an issue. I've had much better experiences with Roto Rooter. I should have called them instead.
I pay $10 per month to be a ""preferred"" customer. Called this evening for a clogged sewer line. Was told a tech would be onsite in 60-90 minutes. After more than 2 hours I called for an ETA only to be told that ""the tech just quit"". What the??? In the middle of a shift? And now they tell me they have no one until Monday?? Get the damn owner or manager out here. This will be our last job with Jolly.
I hired them to fix a gas leak earlier today
Pros: the guy that did the work, Jason, gets 5 stars. Very professional and friendly, really seemed to go the extra mile and explained well what in the installation was wrong, etc. So he did really well.
Cons: their prices are *freaking STEEP*. Like 2-3x what I would think a ""premium"" service should be. Some 4 ft of 1/2"" pip and 2 hours of labor was.... more than I want to admit in writing. Comfortably into the four figures.
Jason did talk to my home warranty company directly and they called me indicating they agreed to pay the lion's share so whatever he said worked great. I was worried it was too much and they would deny it. I guess I should have called around and gotten more estimates and that would have saved me the stress but I didn't want too many people running through the house during Covid etc. But luckily it all worked out I guess.
So in summary: great job; pandemic pricing.
$200 for $1.26, go elsewhere.
I scheduled an appointment online to cap a gas line that is outside. The retail price of the part is $1.26 at Home Depot, and it would have taken no more than 15 minutes to cut the pipe and install the cap.
I was informed that it was a $200 minimum, I laughed and sent them on their way. There was never a mention of the $200 minimum in the confirmation email. There was however a lengthy email regarding my responsibility regarding protecting them from Covid-19.
Apparently, their customers don't deserve the same courtesy as the two employees arrived without wearing masks.
Save your money, save your time, and maybe your life, look elsewhere for a plumber.
