Had several services come out when my air conditioner went out. It was 16 years old and of course I got the standard response ""you need to replace"". Cost, $7,000 - 8,000. Johnston Gas came out and analyzed it could be repaired. Owner Curt couldn't offer a guarantee but felt the A/C was in could enough shape that replacing the vent that went bad, a couple of filters and recharging the system may do the trick. Cost, $1,000. Honest and straight forward. Mechanic Dimas was excellent, the kind of technician that pays attention to EVERY detail. A/C is working great. Old school company that believes in being honest, treating the customer with respect and doing a good job. Using them again is a no brainer.

I contacted them because my fiancé's house has a vintage 50's floor furnace that isn't working properly. They did answer a question I had regarding the ignitor assembly, because the gas company said it was bad. But later when it was determined that the unit had other things that needed to be done, I emailed them asking to have someone come give us an estimate, they never responded. So I called them twice, getting a recorded message to leave your info or inquiry, but was never called back. That's too bad because they manufactured it in the 50s and could have made $$$ getting it back in running order today but I guess they don't want any business. I hired someone that wanted the job and who calls you back.

So if you have a vintage Johnston floor furnace, you like it, and you want to get it running or keep it in top shape, don't call these people because they don't want your business.

If you live in Burbank or Glendale, you are familiar with Johnston. They are local and the best. I have a service contract and I had a small problem. Dimas was on time and found the problem quickly. These guys are reliable and professional. I highly recommend them

Two years ago Johnston installed central air in one of our rental houses. Now they are installing central air in our own residence. The owner, Curt, is very fair in his pricing and when he offered us his proposal we didn't even bother getting a second quote. The secretary, Alice, is very nice and helpful and the installers, Brian and Damian, do outstanding work. Obviously I highly recommend them.

We have used Johnston Gas before and were very satisfied, so when our AC system developed a very weird problem, we called them. We are in the middle of a horrible heat wave in LA, and I assumed it would take days for them to get to us, but they came the same day. It took the technician three hours to figure out the situation, but he didn't give up, and everything is working now. I would recommend them any time for service on furnaces or AC systems.

I was told that I needed a new floor heater because they couldn't turn my pilot light on. This would have cost me at least $1,000.00. Johnston came out and had it cleaned,lit and working within an hour. Total cost $190.00.
