Company Overview

Established in 1960, Johnson Plumbing specializes in plumbing services tailored for residential and commercial clients. Our services extend to the residents of Merced and Mariposa counties in California. Our offerings include a wide range of plumbing fixtures and products, such as swamp coolers, water heaters, and systems for water purification and softening. We offer products from reputable manufacturers, including Kohler, Moen, American Standard, Price Pfister, Delta, Eljer, Chicago Faucets, and Zern. Our team is skilled in the installation and repair of toilets, gas lines, faucets, disposals, and grease traps. We offer video pipe inspection, leak detection, root removal, and replacement services. Johnson Plumbing offers drain cleaning, maintenance, remodeling, and around-the-clock emergency services.

The business started as Sid Johnson Plumbing from 1960 until 1972, when it became Johnson Plumbing with the full-time involvement of Greg Johnson, our current president. In 1981, we incorporated and became Johnson Plumbing, Inc. Our focus was mainly on new construction until 2000, after which we became a service company; we are licensed and bonded for all work related to gas, water, and drains. Scott Johnson, our third-generation team member, will soon be joined by his son Andrew this summer, ushering in the fourth generation. We have a fantastic team with extensive knowledge! Greetings, I’m Greg Johnson, the owner of Johnson Plumbing, Inc. I grew up in this business, following my dad around since I was five. I took to it naturally, enjoying holding the flashlight and passing him tools and fittings. I recall my first show-and-tell in first grade was on a thermocouple that goes on a water heater! I started from the ground up as soon as I was able; you might call that a ditch digger, LOL. Back then, we didn’t own a backhoe; I was the backhoe! I thought trenchers were a myth until my dad hired one; I wondered why I was digging by hand! I like to think he was shaping my character. My dad was respected for his fairness and honesty; I believe we still uphold those values. He was the most dedicated worker you could meet, and I’m proud to call him my dad. I went full-time after graduating high school, married an amazing woman named Sharon Fauver, and we have two boys, each with four kids. We adore them all. Reach out to us today!

Joe came and checked out our water heater, let us know costs to repair or replace so we could make a decision. He was nice, professional and thorough! Also Johnson Plumbing was the only plumber I called that has an answering service to answer after calls that come in after hours--that was a huge plus! Another I called said leave a message then their mailbox was full! We will definitely be using them again! We plan to ask for Joe!

I called three times to request a repair for the same bathroom. The first time they charged me a little over $100 and it worked for about a week or so the next time they came for the same bathroom it worked for a couple of weeks but I paid a little over $100 they came today and he worked for a couple of hours and now it's $400 but it's the same bathroom And they're telling me that each time they worked on it it's a little different problem but it's the same bathroom. It seems like they would've found that problem when they first came. I understand that I need to pay for the work but I don't think they understand how that makes me feel like they're taking advantage of me, maybe other people have had been results but I haven't

Never use Johnson Plumbing under any circumstances! Johnson Plumbing take advantage of elderly people. Johnson Plumbing take advantage of Veterans. I called them out to repair/replace a copper hose running up to my mother's swamp cooler that had been leaking. Instead, they took pictures, stayed for 10 mins and charged my mother $126. They stated that the float was broken and that was the cause of the leak. We changed the float and the swamp cooler still leaked. I called the next morning with the same request, please repair/replace the cooper line due to it leaking. This time I was told the Swamp cooler needed to be replaced and the manger would call me later to discuss the issue. Not only did the manger never call me back, but I called another plumbing company that came out that same day, replaced the cooper line and now the swamp cooler runs perfectly! I gave Johnson Plumbing a chance to redeem themselves and make my mother whole, they were not interested. Johnson Plumbing clearly have no integrity.

Another good experience with Johnson Plumbing. I have a small rental house built in 1926, so everything is old. The tenants are fantastic, and I try to keep them happy. I have been using Johnson for various plumbing repairs for many years. Today it was a moderate leak at the shut-off valve for the service supply line. I emailed Johnson last night after closing, and this morning when I woke up, I found a technician was already in route to the house. The problem was repaired within an hour. They replaced the buried shut-off valve by extending the pipes to keep the valve above ground, so it is accessible and functional, and not subject to corrosion from being in the dirt. It's so refreshing to deal with a competent, reliable company. Always friendly, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond. They invoice me via email and take my payment online. Could not be more convenient.

The two gentlemen that came were very knowledgeable and efficient. The reason for our call was an issue regarding the line from the freezer (ice maker) to plumbing of the house.

Overcharged for time and supplies and our water pump still can't pump out water. Bad experience and wouldn't recommend for use.

I've never used a plumber in my 75 years. These guys did a great job. Diagnosed my shower leak to the shower head extension tube. Replaced it and leak tested it and the shower pan. They also recommended a guy to replace the soggy drywall. Who also did a great job.

We had such a problem trying to get a plumber to come out to fix our backup. We were recommended by another customer who was very satisfied with their work as well. They were having some problems while they were trying to fix the backup and they called 3 extra guys to come help. They came out and not only fixed our problem but provided GREAT service. It started pouring while they were here and they still kept working through it all. They also have super affordable prices! I highly recommend them!

I have used Johnson Plumbing 2 or 3 times in the past. Up until the last time, I was satisfied with their service. In early August of 2022, I called them to fix a leak near an outside faucet on my rental house. When the job was finished, I met with the repair man and paid him the amount he requested. Never was I told that the amount requested was only a portion of the total repair bill. Logically, I assumed the repair was paid in full. More than four months later, just before Christmas, I was contacted and told that I owed an additional $280. Had I been told the total price of the repair when it was completed, I would have paid the bill at that time. However, receiving an unexpected bill from a job completed over 4 months ago, it not only seems unprofessional, but suspicious as well. Will I use them ever again? I think not!
