The foundation of our company was laid in a residence in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Michael and Susan Johnson, along with their son Jason, established Johnson & Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning in 1988. Initially, the business aimed to supplement Michael's full-time job and help Jason fund his college education. As time passed, an increasing number of clients began to depend on the Johnson family for their HVAC solutions. During this time, Jason discovered his true calling was to collaborate with his father and give back to the community he had loved for more than 25 years. Until 2012, the business was family-operated, but that year, Michael and Susan started their journey toward retirement. This change gave Jason the opportunity to manage the business and outline a strategy to achieve his vision. His goal was to elevate industry standards by enhancing both technical skills and customer service.

Jasen preformed a whole house inspection of our plumbing and water system. He was very through and very in formative, he made us aware of some issue's that might arise and some measures we could do to avoid those issues. Jasen was very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks again Jasen for the service you provided
So pleased with the thorough service I received. Learned a lot of valuable information concerning my plumbing and equipment. Thank you so much Jasen for your fantastic service!
I've had them over a couple times to get our a/c / heater back working, and they've been great both times. I haven't been happy with prior companies I've tried, so now I'll be sticking with Johnson & Johnson.
This is a GREAT company. Evert technician who comes to my home twice a year for preseason checks truly knows what he is doing, is polite, friendly, fanatical about cleanliness, etc. They come when they say they're coming. They call in advance, when the tech is on the way. And when they detect (or I detect a problem, they're on it, and -- more often than not -- they have the replacement parts needed on the truck. Were a major repair or replacement needed, involving, say $1,000 or more, I'd get a second opinion/proposal. It hasn't happened yet and, when it does, I'm confident J&J will be the company I rely on.
Their website offers a free estimate however BUYER BEWARE when the technician arrived at my home yesterday he showed me a tablet with their troubleshooting cost and the first phase was $144 and if he couldn't figure out the issue with my central AC unit the next trouble shooting was going to cost an additional $300. I paid the fee of $131 for him arrive to help and it was a waste of money and time. I explained that the unit probably needs to be replaced and he continued to peddle those trouble shooting packages. They do not honor their ""free estimate"" plastered all over their website. After he left I called their office to express my dissatisfaction and someone named Nicole was suppose to call me back to discuss and never did. This business is misleading and have inexperienced staff at all levels. The same day another company came out diagnosed the issue FOR FREE and my 17 year old unit is being replace. Do not waste time with this unethical family owned business. Find another option. They do not care at all about the customer experience.
Based on my overall experience, these folks cannot be not be trusted. If you do hire them, be sure you get EVERYTHING IN WRITING (e-mail, paper, etc.), AND, it's almost necessary with J&J to have a basic understanding of residential HVAC systems as they didn't like to answer direct questions with direct answers, rather, they change the subject like I never said anything. DO NOT rely on verbal communication! IMO, their ideal customer is one that doesn't know anything about HVAC, and can't ask questions.
Approximately $10,000 new install (2.5ton Lennox heatpump and all ductwork) in '14 went well. Indoor coil failed (leaking refrigerant) only 7yrs later and was replaced with the incorrectly sized indoor coil. Jason claimed that Lennox stated the replacement coil installed was indeed the correct part, at which time I involved the WV Attorney Generals' office because I knew by its' part number it was undersized for my heatpump. As one might expect, a marked improvement in communication started to happen once the AG's office contacted Jason Johnson at which point J&J returned with the correctly sized evap. coil and installed the same exact coil that failed that Lennox had a lawsuit filed against them on with the exception that this coil had been treated (dipped in) with a substance to reduce corrosion. Just two years since the coil was installed, the coating is already flaking off around the copper tubing.
In the end, J&J waived all costs (~$900 coil was under warranty), but, it took around a year and many e-mails and customer time to resolve AND, here's the biggest red flag of arrogance, Jason recommended to the AG's office that I use another HVAC contractor!
I contacted Johnson&Johnson Heating and Air Conditioning because they are local and a family business and their reviews were good. I called in because my thermostat was reading higher than my programmed setting. The technician they sent immediately started upselling saying that my unit needed to be replaced and anything they did would be putting a band-aid on it. He recommended replacing the fan motor and adding more refrigerant. He said he couldn't see how much was already in the system so recommended two pounds. He also said that the filter would need to be replaced soon, but not immediately. He also managed to upsell their comfort plus plan so I could ""save money"" on their services that day and for future check-ups and filter installations (we provide the filter). He left without checking my thermostat to ensure thing were in order. The system was working within within 24 hours. We had a cold snap after that and turned the heat on. No issues with heating. When it got warm again, turned on the a/c and it was doing the same thing as before - hotter in the house than the thermostat was set for. I called J&J to complain. They sent the same technician out to investigate. He immediately came with an attitude saying that it's probably because of my filter, which was filthy and needed to have been replaced immediately. News to me. Then proceeded to say that I shouldn't have turned the heat on because it evaporated the refrigerant. When I questioned the filter, he brought it in my house, and it was dirty and dusty, and started to open it in my house to make a point, leaving dusty and dirt on the floor. He also let himself in without knocking or ringing and my son ran to the door so the cat and dog wouldn't get out. He told the technician to close the door and the technician made a snide remark about opening the door again. Basically said the unit had to be replaced. I then had to track down the Service Manager to complain and share my experience. He ended up sending a more seasoned technician without charge to see what was wrong. It was determined that my inner coil had a leak and all the refrigerant was gone. Why wasn't this done from the beginning before I wasted $400 on refrigerant and probably the other $800 on a new fan? Don't use them. And don't let Howard come to your house. The only saving grace this business has is the lady who answers the phone and schedules appointments, Kristen. She's consistently pleasant and helpful.
Charles and Dave came early in the morning and had our whole house done in short order, less than two hours. They explained their process and made sure everything was taken care of. Our home has older duct board and we were worried that it could be problematic, but it was cleaned thoroughly and efficiently.
Jocelyn in the front office was also very helpful in coordinating and scheduling our appointment.
I would most certainly recommend J&J to anyone.
Johnson and Johnson recently installed a new through-the-wall AC unit as a contractor for Lowes Home Improvement. I wanted to be able to use my existing wall sleever if possible. The sales rep said he would order a unit that approximated the size of the opening, but when the unit was installed, there was a 4-inch gap on the inside wall between the top of the unit and the sleeve. The repair people put a piece of insulation in the gap to seal the opening. When I told the sales rep I was unhappy with the way it looked, he was very rude and quoted me an exorbitant amount to get a new sleeve. The owner of the company finally agreed to send me the new sleeve at no cost to me, but would not install it. So, after paying $2100 for a unit that retails for under $800, I now have to pay someone else to finish the job.
Our furnace stopped working In the middle of the night. Mind you it was 17 degrees outside! I called first thing this morning and they fit me in! They sent Will to fix it and he did! He was very friendly with my golden retriever who really wanted to help! This is the second time we have used them and I would recommend to anyone!
