I read such disparate reviews of this company, I couldn't wait to see how it turned out. Guy showed up on time, fixed the toilet, was perfectly polite and professional, charged only what I expected to pay as this was a homeowners insurance service call. All good!

They were sent by Old Republic and did absolutely NOTHING but still charged a fee. Completely worthless.

John's Valley Plumbing was assigned the work order from Old Republic (home protection).

Jim (I believe that was his name) arrived at 8:30am sharp for an appointment. I was actually double booked and expected the plumber to be late; he wasn't and I had to reschedule my other appointment. Talked to him for 5 minutes to give him an idea of what I experienced, and Jim promptly went to work. He ran some water down the pipe, tried to unclog the drain but ended up hitting mud.

Here's the impressive part...no BS. He said he suspected a leak because that's typical when you encounter mud in a pipe. He recommended a camera be used to confirm this and quickly relayed the details to Old Republic so the service order could be escalated to the right person. He didn't try to sell me a service and wouldn't throw numbers around because he wanted to be sure what the root cause was before proceeding further.

I honestly wanted to know what I was up against and he gave me some possibilities but didn't go as far as providing estimates or insisting on follow on work. I still have a plumbing issue but was was thankful he was professional and to the point.

We used John's Valley Plumbing because this plumbing business is contracted with our home warranty provider. John's Valley Plumbing was very prompt in scheduling the appointment and very professional on the phone. The day the plumber was to arrive, he showed up earlier than the scheduled appointment window I was given. Because he was early, I was not ready and was just getting out of the shower when he showed up. We had paid $75 for the service call, and I knew if I didn't get to the door quickly, he would leave and then I'd have to pay another $75 to get him to come out to the house again, so I threw on some jeans, my robe and slippers, flew downstairs and answered the door. It was good that I hurried because he was walking away from the door as I answered it. I apologized for my attire, and he was professional and seemingly understanding about it, which I appreciated. I began to show him one of several minor plumbing leaks we discovered upon purchasing our new home, and he suggested I go finish getting dressed, and he would wait by the front door outside. Again, I appreciated his professionalism. Two minutes later and completely dressed, I brought him in and took him around to the various leaks. He listened to my concerns and fixed what was in the scope of his job. However, as he was writing up his report at the end of the service call, he said, ""You knew I'd be coming at this time and yet you chose to shower just before I got here,"" as if to imply I had designs on seducing him. I immediately pointed out that he was at least 20 minutes early (if I'm guessing conservatively). It would not have taken 20 minutes for me to be fully dressed by the time he showed up, and that's IF he showed up at the very beginning of the 3 hour window I was given. Everything was professional up until that point, but this was a real turn of events and an utter disappointment. For that, John's Valley Plumbing gets one star, and I have contacted my home warranty provider to make them aware of the situation. We will not be using John's Valley Plumbing again.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I don't think I ever had or met a person more incompetent at what they do than the plumber they sent. Where do I start.... for starters, the plumber arrived 20 minutes early, called me, I informed him I was 10 minutes away and his response was a rude ""Well hurry up!"", and then he hung up. When we started, he was complaining the entire time that he had to go up and down stairs to try to take care of the plumbing issues. He did more damage than he repaired. One bathroom, he left a total mess, flooded the area and that caused a subsequent brand new leak down below into the kitchen and damaged, the drywall, paint, etc. Avoid at all cost.

Do not use this plumbing company. The technician came in with attitude and said he is a expensive plumbing doctor. He said his work wouldn't be covered by the home insurance so he wouldn't care what my problems are. Then, he called home insurance and said I denied his offer on trying to fix the the leak. John Vally Pumbing only do trash service. Stay away from them. Do not waste your time and money.

I have had 5 different plumbers to the house to address a toilet and a sink fixture issue. This was all thru old republic home warranty. Finally, after raising a stink, they sent me Jim from John's Valley Plumbing plumbing in Thousand Oaks. Terrific!!!!

I highly recommend them, particularly Jim!

Making the call was easy. My only challenge is that they don't give you updates. That's why gave them four stars instead of five it would be nice if the tech gave you an update a half an hour before he was going to come. Once he got to my House, with in his time limit, he told me he could have done that. I wish that we have been offered when I made the appointment. Jyan arrived and was quick at diagnosing the problem, friendly, and did not leave a mess. Juan was a pleasure to deal with and even got along well with my dogs.

The gentleman that came out to my place was nice and fixed my garbage disposal quickly, under 15 minutes. He also left behind a tool so that I can un-jam it on my own next time to prevent the $65 service call fee.

The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is solely based on timing. He called me at 2:30 to let me know he would be at my place by 3 and then didn't show until after 3:30. Not a big deal, but didn't help the frustration of having to wait around from ""1-4pm"" for him to arrive.
