I referred my friend in West Covina to John from my former experience using him. He was helpful and even gave my friend some additional advice on other future repairs. It initially took a day for him to call back but it was not an emergency so it was fine. I've dealt with other repair men that did not charge a consultation fee because they just do whatever they can to make money as fast as possible and don't do a long lasting job and then they won't return to fix what they didn't fix in the first place that I already paid for. John's work is quality and well worth the $45 initial fee because no one works for free these days! It's hard to find good licensed contractor. Once the job was established, communication was very good and my friend was able to get a new timer on her yard that will last for year's!

Just had a call for this guy for a quote and was not interested in listening to me to better describe the system and hung up. Just like one reviewer mentioned he hand an arrogant demeanor. I even heard him say ""What the ..."" the second time I called him because he hung up on me. Don't even consider this guy.

Bad phone connection-never called back. Really awkward on phone, bordered on rude, like he was doing me a favor by talking to me. Doesn't text. Not sure I understand the reviews. I guess they are a little older.

Called for sprinkler repair. Not a friendly businessman. Charges $45 for the estimate and does not apply it to the work if hired. He doesn't apply it because he says, ""he has a sh*tload of experience"". He had an arrogant demeanor in his explanation of being a licensed contractor hence charging for the estimate first then returning to do the work at a later date if hired.
Just a heads up.

Great service! I called john with a sprinkler emergency and he responded quickly. Did a great job with a fair price. Since then, I hired him to help at another location. Again, he was on time, knowledgable, and completed the job on time and again, at a very fair price.

My sprinklers were really giving me a hard time. The valve would open and close sporadically, and I needed a diagnosis for the problem. I called him up and he came out. He tested that zone, and NOTHING HAPPENED. It was like the problem had never existed. He made the best of it, and he gave me a consultation on the rest of my sprinkler system that was very informative and helpful.

Not a moment after he pulled away, the sprinkler valve started opening and closing again! So I called him up, and he came right back to address the issue. He replaced the valve at a very reasonable cost, and he showed me what was wrong with the valve - the rubber diaphragm had totally deteriorated, and it wasn't sealing. Now I have a brand new valve and everything works.

He was very responsive when I called, and he came to my house about an hour after my first call. He gets full marks for that!

So I can say that I've used John's services - TWICE. And I'll certainly use them again.
