This is the right plumbing company for you, if you don't care about cost or integrity. My first experience with Johns Plumbing was when they installed a new dishwasher in our kitchen. The appliance store was unable to schedule installation for several weeks, so I asked our building management to recommend a plumber. Johns did the job perfectly, but billed $770 for work that would have been $159, had I waited for store installation. After I complained, Johns ""adjusted"" the charge, because our building is a ""preferred customer."" Six months later, on a weekend, when a valve started to leak, building management again summoned Johns. This time, mindful of the dishwasher, I started a stopwatch when the plumber arrived and stopped only after the plumber had completed the job and left the unit. Elapsed time: 36 minutes. The bill: $847! I sent an email, requesting billing details, which yielded no reply. The following week, I phoned with the same request. The detail that I received, two days later, explained that overtime rates applied, and I was billed for 3.5 hours @ $225/hour, plus $60 for parts. So, do the math -- we paid over $600 for travel to and from a 36 minute job. BTW, while I don't know where the plumber lives, Johns office is 8.4 miles from our building. This was not right!

I have used John's Plumbing exclusively for my residence and place of work for the past 3+ years. The provide excellent service regardless of the size or complexity of the project. If you are looking for an honest, reliable and reasonable vendor, these are the guys! I definitely recommend John's Plumbing.

This was my first experience with a plumber outside of working on a remodel with a contractor so I admittedly have limited experience to draw from but wasn't pleased with the service. I called John's on the referral of my condo building manager, as the hot water in my bathroom sink turned on full blast by itself twice in a 24-hour period. The person I spoke with on the phone was up front that I would be charged a full hour's worth of time for a plumber to come and assess the issue. The plumber who arrived, Kenny, was very courteous and seemed knowledgeable, but it took him less than 10 minutes to 'assess' the issue and he barely looked at it. Seems silly to have to pay for a full hour's worth of work for a problem that apparently required no rigorous investigation. I was told at that point that they would need to order a part which should cost between $24-$40. I received two parts in the mail, and the plumber returned today to fix the problem, which he did promptly within 30 minutes. I should also mention that both times the plumber arrived late against the quoted estimated time of arrival, and I wasn't given a heads up regarding a delay either time. In fairness, definitely understand they get pulled into emergencies but utility companies typically notify customers of delays in advance and I was surprised that was not offered in this case. Anyway, imagine my surprise that I was then billed $688: $167/hour x 2 hours, with the remainder being classified as 'parts' which equates to $354. I had to call back and explain to whomever answered that a) the cost I was quoted was $24-$40, and b) I only needed one part and never asked for a second part to be ordered 'in the event that the same thing happens to the other side of my faucet'. Had I not complained, I would've been charged $177 per part, when I was quoted a much much lower original price, as well as for a part that I didn't need or ask for. They agreed to adjust my bill, remove the cost of the second part, and reduce the charge of the part I did need; however, I was then asked to mail the spare unneeded part back at my own cost in order to have it removed from the bill. Like other reviewers have said, this is definitely not how companies I typically interact with treat their customers and I am left feeling like I was taken advantage of. My advice: look elsewhere as it seems there are plumbers with much better reviews out there. If you're going to work with John's, be very clear when communicating about parts (both number and cost), what you will/won't pay for and ask for an itemized bill upon completion of the service.

Terrible customer service. Wasn't helpful on the phone and said they were booked without offering any explanation despite calling them earlier and them confirming an appointment

Be very careful with this company before proceeding with any work. We contacted them based on a referral and were fine ... until we received the bill. From the hourly charge (which included substantial travel time) to the cost of parts (multiples of the actual cost) they took us for a long and crazy ride regarding a simple, straightforward job. To be fair, the work itself was performed satisfactorily. However, we would NEVER have agreed had we any idea of what they would charge us for the effort. In the end they agreed to a small price reduction but it was far too little and too late. Buyer beware!

I had a great experience with John's Plumbing. The issue they had to resolve was a clogged laundry runoff drain at my condo, and the plumber fixed the problem during one visit. Their General Manager named Greg did a great job coordinating with me on the specifics of the repair. I recommend this company for any plumbing troubles.

I work with Johns Plumbing in my professional life and can't say enough good things about them... they have bailed me out in more situations than I care to share. I am always willing to recommend Johns Plumbing.

Was a nightmare having to explain multiple times that the plumber didn't complete the work as promised and the plumber also purchased a $400 part on our behalf of which we did not approve. In short, my husband decided to pay them half since it was a pain having to explain what happened to multiple people at John's whose only interest was to collect $750.
Story: the plumber said that the work required a $200 part, we approved but he showed up with a part that he claimed to be $400. After some thoughts, I decided to let him go ahead and install the part because he was already in our house. However, he did not know how to install the part and was on the phone with the customer service of the company that sells the part for a long time and ""made no progress"". He left and tried to come back to install again but we decided not to proceed because the plumber's competence was in question. Plus, the price of the part doubled without notice/approval...signs of poor customer service.
The bill was $750 which included the $400 part that never got installed. The only work the plumber actually did that day was that he retrieved one of my earrings from the pipe under the sink. In short, $375 for getting my earring out of the pipe which took no more than 10 minutes. Here, John's Plumbing - I just explained it again, this time in writing for your record.
The thing is we have been good customers of John's and they had provided good plumbing work for our house until this event. Very surprised how they handled our concerns. We will use a different company moving forward.

I see other reviews aren't that great. I totally disagree! The woman I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and kept in touch with me. My plumber, Wayne, couldn't have been more polite and quick getting the job done. I also had a lot of questions about things I want to do to my sink in the near future and he answered all my questions. I absolutely would recommend John's Plumbing and will call them when I'm ready to buy my new sink.

If I could give 0 stars I would have done that. If lying about how long you are at a job ( said they were at my apartment for 1 1/2 hrs) and were actually at my place for 20 minutes is ok then definitely go for a company like johns plumbing! I got a call a few days ago about the invoice someone had LIED about from May and I still owe $145 dollars. How nice to credit me on time that was lied about?
I sincerely do not get how this place works. The owner sounds like someone who really doesn't care about customer service at all. Very disappointing and for sure WOULD NEVER GO BACK! The worst part about it was I was recommended by the ""engineer"" at my building. Feel cheated by this place and please don't waste your time.
