I do a lot of business in Michigan and California through Yelp. I have never seen reviews like this... either 5-stars or 1-star... AND THEY ARE BOTH ACCURATE!
Obviously a very nice guy and talented... until he decides he is through with you... whether the job is completed or not!
I had the same story. Great communication, knows his biz, nice guy, good work... but a TERRIBLE BUSINESSMAN. Why he would quote these jobs, do work, build relationships and then just disappear is crazy. I actually thought something happened to him until I read these reviews.
Unfortunately for us, he left one part of the job (the sanding and painting) unfinished. Now, I have to find someone to come in and clean up his mess. cI've been told I have a nice case for small claims court... and I may just try that route.
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!

I dont think this ""electrician"" actually does work. I didnt want to believe some of the reviewers who complained about no call no shows and then ghosting them, but I think he must get some sick joy in doing so.
Avoid this guy, he will leave you high and dry and probably do some shoddy work while he is at it.

We contacted John's to install a large window AC in our home. We agreed upon a price and job date, they even sent me a reminder 24 hours prior to our appointment. I took the afternoon off for our appointment and...John's never showed up. They did not respond to my calls or messages either--ever. I wasted an afternoon off and still had to find someone else to do the work. I would avoid this company, they are highly unreliable, unresponsive and a waste of time.

Initially he was great. Made a 2nd appoinment to start work. He even called to change time the day before, then he pulled a NO CALL/NO SHOW. Still NO response to my subsequent inquiries.

Booked an appointment 3 weeks ago and scheduled a date for him to come to my house. I set aside my entire day and prepared the work area for him and he completely ghosted me after sending a confirmation email that he was arriving the day before. He seemed like a reasonable person so I assumed the worst that something may have happened. It's now been 4 days later and I'm still being ghosted. My wife called from her phone and got a message that he has another project and can't get to his phone. If you can send messages at least be courteous and respond back to me. Wouldn't recommend wasting weeks of your time waiting for John to come and complete work, you're better off calling another handyman.

John, is very professional, friendly, reliable, honest and efficient. Removed our old backsplash, in a very efficient manner and charged a very reasonable price. Will Definitely use him again!!!

Beyond horrible and discourteous. John scheduled an appt. with me. I agreed to the date and time. I also confirmed the day before. We waited not only did he not call he didn't show up, and I still have not heard from him. After emailing and leaving messages. This is no way to treat customers old, new or potential. This was piss poor service at its finest, and its no excuse. Customers have so many other business options, we pick you not the other way around. If I could give zero stars I would. This was totally foul, as a customer my time is equally important. The only thing John was Handy at was being unprofessional, and he lacks morals with his business.

John is a pretty nice guy. He's professional, friendly, and patient. He helped me figure out the wiring for a smart thermostat set-up. This is a quick job, but he is still detail and perfection oriented. He wouldn't leave until everything is working properly. I enjoyed the service very much! Highly recommend.
