I received immediate and excellent service from John Thurston Plumbing. I had an immediate need and reached out to John Thurston in the early morning. John was honest in informing me that he was scheduled for today but offered me the option of contacting him later in the afternoon. Before, I could reach back out to John; he contacted me and advised he could come to my home and investigate my issue within 10 minutes. He arrived in 5 minutes, determined the issue and resolved the issue within 2 minutes. He was extremely prompt, professional and had a great sense of humor to boot. I would utilize his services again and recommend him for your home plumbing needs.

I've hired lots of tradespeople in the past and John Thruston Plumbing is the best! My wife and I have a beach house in St. Augustine and it's new - so we haven't really had a reason to call a plumber... until last night when my wife stuffed have a garden down the disposal and the drain backed up. My wife called John Thurston and he told us that he would take care of it in the morning. At 8:00 a.m. he said he was on his way and would be at our house by 8:30 he showed up & he was. He not only fixed the sink issue, but addressed another issue that we were having that was unrelated. Furthermore I asked him about our water heater and some advice and he told me an easy fix & that I could do it myself and save money. He absolutely could have told us we needed a new garbage disposal & a new faucet & that we needed more work to the water heater than we did... but he's honest and fair with his pricing & generally just a nice guy. He knows what he's doing & is great!

Good guy! Came quickly and handled new faucet and drain installation. I didn't have the right parts for dishwasher and he jury-rigged a hose line. Leaks but worth the try. He is worth considering. I recommend him. He will be coming back to change out a shower valve stem and install the right dishwasher discharge hose.

I called this company for a couple of small jobs at a rental property. The appointment was lined up for the morning, and the tech was supposed to call the tenant 30 minutes before arrival so he would know when to expect him. Instead, I (the property manager) received the call around 8 in the morning to say he would be at the property around 8:30 am. He made a comment about the fact I never sent him the tenant's contact information, when I actually did the week before, by text, liked he asked. In any case, 30 minutes came and went, and the tenant called me around 8:50 am to ask if the plumber was still coming. I called the plumber to tell him the tenant had to leave soon for work, and asked when he might be there, to which he responded he would be there shortly, and had an attitude about it. At 9:15 am my tenant let me know he had to head to work, but told me the back door was unlocked and the upstairs tenant was aware the plumber was coming and would let him in. Not even five minutes later I got a call from the angry plumber saying he was at the property and no one was home. I started to tell him the door was unlocked and the upstairs tenant could let him in when he cut me off and told me to find someone else for the job. He never stepped foot inside and had the audacity to have an attitude because HE showed up 45 minutes later than HE said he would. He also accused me of never having given him the contact information he needed after I forwarded him the text I had sent the week before. I told him I would gladly find someone else as he had been very rude and unprofessional. I seriously have no idea how this company has the rating it does. Buyer beware.

This guys rates are outrageous. He charged my fiance, who is a single mom over $600 to replace a shower valve (after he couldn't get a stuck cartridge out), and it took him less than two hours. Its not like it was difficult to get to, just cut a square out of the drywall on the other side of the valve (I watched him, took 5min to get to the valve). I looked up the parts he used from the boxes he threw away, and they were no more than $75 total (valve and trim kit). THAT COMES OUT TO ABOUT $260 PER HOUR!!!! I doubt even a Doctor get this per hour (if you factored their per hour cost). Hire this guy if you want to get price gouged. I honestly don't know how he's still in business. My previous review regarding this was deleted, so I'm re-posting.

I had him come out to look at a problem...he said oh """"he can fix it no problem."""" When the time came to do it he said """"it could not be done"""" Not sure if he was trying to get more money or what. He obviously did not remember speaking with me the time before. :(

I called and came right out to our home. He was fast and let us know what we needed to do to fix our water pressure. He gave us the choice to do it ourselves or have him do it. Honest guy who is not going to try to sell you extra things.

Came home to find the hot water tank wasn't working and of course this happens on a Friday. Called John Thurston Plumbing and they were there in an hour. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Will definitely use this company again.

John is very good. He is direct and to the point, but do not take it as an insult. He does not negotiate his price and he is honest about that and you finding a cheaper plumber. Some think it rude, but I find it better then BS-ing me.

Christmas Day 2016 and family from all around the country were about to converge on our home when we experience plumbing problems. Seriously? Luckily we had the option to celebrate at a nearby family member's home, which we did. The next day, within 10 minutes of Mark from John Thurston Plumbing arriving, he informed us that we had just moved into the """"worst case scenario"""" bracket. With determination and humor Mark resolved the issue which probably originated when the new home construction company next door damaged our septic pipe near the street. I'd never use that construction company but I would definitely use John Thurston Plumbing again!
