John the Plumber
Company Overview
John the Plumbing Expert is a family-operated service with well over a century of combined knowledge. Our purpose is to deliver assistance that exceeds your satisfaction. We would be grateful if you allowed our family to serve your home.
Our plumbing history dates back to the 1900s in New Jersey, where our forebear first mastered the plumbing. He founded Krobatsch Plumbing and Heating in the mid-1940s, which is where our dad John followed the legacy. Our family adored South Florida and vacationed in the Pompano Beach area annually. During one of their trips, they found a property on a home they couldn't ignore. Before they knew it, they sold our property in New Jersey and transferred to our mom and dad's beloved vacation destination.
John The Plumber was started in Pompano Beach in 1979 as a solo business. Our dad, John, had no lofty goals; he simply wanted to provide quality support to his customers. His dream of living in South Florida had come true, allowing him to build a strong foundation and enterprise. Sadly, our dad passed away from cancer in 1987 at the age of 53.
At that point, his children, John and David, acquired the company from our parent. Both John and David had extensive plumbing knowledge before acquiring the company; plumbing was practically their only career since they were able to work. John had launched his own company, and David was the lead plumber of a major local plumbing business at the time of our father's passing. Rather than letting the reputation our parent had built over the years waste away, they opted to become partners. They traveled together in the only truck the company owned until they gathered enough funds to buy an added truck and supplies. John and David operated the company out of our mother's residence until 1999 when the company needed additional room to grow. At that time, the third son, Michael, came on board the company after graduating from college. Michael also had extensive plumbing background, having helped with John and David since he was able to work and while enrolled in college.

Recommended Customer Reviews

I've used the services of John the Plumber for well over 10 years. I can't believe I never reviewed them. Quality service and professionalism are the keys here. The cost is fair, and probably on the cheaper side. Plus, they can do all sized jobs, so just don't think of them when you need to replace a hot water heater or unclog a drain. I had them plumb my kitchen island when we expanded our kitchen a few years ago. Very happy with the work. Along the way, they've helped with the old lines in the house and helped to clear some drains as well. Can't recommend them enough.

I have been using this company for more years than I care to admit. Today I called because of a plumbing issue at my home. My two daughters, both over 18 years old, were home so I went to work. I agreed to have the work done, although I felt the price was a bit high. The company had been professional up to this point, so I was okay with paying that price. Then I listened to a lengthy voicemail from Erik, stating that the work was completed and I needed to pay. He constantly repeated it on the voicemail as if I were a deadbeat customer trying to get out of paying a bill. When I called Erik and explained how I felt about his voicemail, he was not apologetic and told me to contact his manager, which I did. After speaking with Mike, I don't feel that Erik will face any consequences for his actions. I was once a long time customer, who now has to go elsewhere because one of their employees was having a bad day and decided to treat a customer like something stuck on the bottom of his shoe.

Well, I thought I had finally found a good plumber. I bought a condo that has a tremendous bathtub and my hot water only goes to 1/3 filled. So I wanted to talk about options swapping out the water heater. Also Wanted to get a bidet toilet. Said they could do it all. They sent out a very bright young man named Dan, took all the information. I paid him for a visit... NEVER heard back. Good gig. Just don't do any work get a bunch of estimates all day long...

I wrote this review based on the conversation with the employee. Was told specifically after I explained the problem, that they don't do work in my area. Only """"after"""" I explained the problem and telling them where I live. They were interested until I explained the work involved and literally said it was too small of a job to go that far.

I would never use this company. They came out to provide an estimate to fix a leak in the sink and said they had to knock out a wall to fix the leak. Complete scam job. Beware of this Company. They quoted us over $4000 to fix a simple leak.

We had a backup at our place and we called John the Plumber. They were very understanding of our situation and sent Adam out the same day we called to fix the clog. Adam was friendly, polite and easy to talk to. In no time we were back to normal with drains running and everyone happy. We would recommend this company to everyone! Thanks Adam for taking the time to explain everything.

Dave the owner was on the job and did great work. He also did additional work that did not require an additional appt which was appreciated. Neat, clean and fast!! Tim O'Grady

Excellent and professional service by Mark. He had to put the snake coil from the roof to unclog the drain. Then he replaced the wax circle under the toilette. He left eberything working and spotless.

New to the area of N. Andrews Gardens, so when the entire house got clogged up, I searched Yelp and found that John The Plumber had top notch reviews! I'm here to continue in that tradition. 5 Stars coming your way! Mike showed up within a half hour of my calling the office. Very pleasant and professional. Called me sir the whole time. Charged $228 to clear the drains using the roof vents. Great for all involved. Keep up the good work!

As a new homeowner I was pretty stressed out when I realized one of my main lines was clogged and I would need to call a plumber...so I looked on yelp and found John the Plumber. I called around noon on a Friday and there was no answer, but I left a message and got a call back within ten minutes. The woman on the phone told me they had a truck in my area and that she would contact them and get back to me, which she did in a very timely manner and explained that they were on there way to an emergency job but would be at my house between 3 and 3:30. I appreciated such a small window, but honestly, I didn't believe it, I kind of figured I would be waiting until 4:30 or 5, but just before three I got a call from Mike (I'm pretty sure that was his name) that he was on his way over and arrived just after three. He got right to work and pulled a bunch of twigs and branches out of the sewer line. He then measured the length of the line he had needed. At this point I had no real idea what he was doing, but he then informed me that based on the length of the line he used the clog had originated in the city's sewer line and not on my property, and even made a note for me to provide to the city when I call to report the problem. The job cost less than $200 so I was relieved that this wasn't a big expense, though I didn't really shop around so I can't comment whether or not their prices are the best. I will note however, that even if I were to find out the price were slightly higher than other plumbers I would still use John the Plumber in the future because of their communication and promptness. Nothing is worse than waiting by the phone or around the house for a repair man to show up, but John the Plumber was very clear and accurate with their timeline for my service call.
