Called John in the morning with a toilet that wasn't flushing correctly in our new condo -- slow flushing, stuck flapper, plunging didn't help, etc. He explained that he was on a big job and asked if it wasn't an emergency, could he call me back later that afternoon and we'd set something up. I agreed, since we had other toilets we could use. As promised, he called me back just when he said he would, and he and his son showed up 10 minutes later. They immediately identified the problems, replaced the flapper, cleaned all the rim holes and stuff, and even recommended the correct toilet paper to use for a low-flow toilet. The toilet flushes like new. While they were here I found a note on my door from the downstairs neighbor that she had some water leaking into a light fixture from my condo (turns out it was from the same toilet overflowing the day before). Just to ease my mind (and give me something helpful to tell the neighbor) John went around to every sink and water line in the condo with me to make sure nothing was leaking, and offered some suggestions on things to keep an eye on as possible sources of leaks, things to do to make things like the washer drain hose ""safer"" against leaks, etc. All in all, they were prompt, professional, helpful, and friendly. And the best part was the cost -- they charged me less for the entire job than I had expected just to get them to show up. Hopefully I won't need a plumber very often :-), but when I do, John and his son are the ones I'm going to call.

After leaving a message, John Sr called me back and asked me to describe the problem. I explained our toilet and bath tub were not draining, and sewerage was backing up into my tub. John came within the hour, and fixed everything. After he was finished, he took the time to explain what was causing the problem, and how to prevent it from happening again. John is a real pro, the kind of guy you wish would show up whenever you need help. I would never think of using anyone else. Absolutely the best plumber!

While booking the appointment could have been smoother, John Sr. and Jr. really knew their stuff! They found a good heatless alternative to sweating a fitting in an insulated wall and had my leaky valve replaced in about an hour despite working in a very tough location. They also managed to do this without damaging any of the tile, which will make patching the access hole much simpler.

I know enough about plumbing to evaluate their work, and it's top-notch.
