John C.lockwood plumbed our new build 7 ago. we've had a few problems that they wouldn't own up to: A toilet wasn't seated properly and the slow leak warped the wood floor.
The sink drain pipe had a sag and caused problems with the garbage disposal. Also this pipe has a 90 degree turn instead of a 45 degree. They used an inexpensive PRV which had to be replaced. (This house $1.0mil +) The techs seem ok but the office people are not friendly. I wouldn't recommend.
John Lockwood is a big company. You would expect better customer service and more details in their quotes. I was remodeling my basement with a full bath. John Lockwood did all the bathrooms in the housing track where I live. I assumed they would be the best suited for the work. I asked for the bathroom to be ""roughed in"" because I had my own plumber to do the setting of the toilet, running the water lines, etc. I needed Lockwood to have it setup and ready for my plumber to do the work. My quote read ""underslab only for basement bathroom. underslab with tank and pump, will patch floor, materials and labor included. sales tax"". I was told it would take about 2 weeks when I was ready for the work to be completed. When I called to setup an appointment, it was 5 weeks before they could do the work.
The quote contained no mention of what ""rough-in"" meant, what was or was not included. Unfortunately, my plumber and contractor both assumed the quote included venting, especially for 1-1/2 days work and $3000. It did not. Now not only is my basement a mess, my contractor had to cut through my wall upstairs in my other bathroom, in order to vent the line.
When I called Lockwood, I was told that would be included with the ""rough"" work, which I asked for ""rough-in"". Unreal.
Again, big company, lots of business and I'm sure they could give two hoots about my $3000 job. I do think covid played a role with their high price and customer service ... they are so busy and my job is a penny in their bucket of $1000s.
So customers beware -- know what questions to ask!
On the up side, they did show up on time and cleaned up when they were done. Would I ever hire them again, maybe, but only if I was very clear on what was and was not being done! (horrible quoting)
Tim came out to put in a hose bib. He did a fantastic job and we are thrilled with the service he provided. I highly recommend this company.
Called to have a toilet replaced and we got a call saying they would be 1 1/2 hours late. At least they called that's understandable. After the kid showed up he went to work. When he went to empty the toilet of water instead of vacuuming out what little water was in there out (which the kid said he could do it but it would cost extra) but he took it upon himself to go underneath my sink and take a bottle out and empty the toilet with it and dump it into our shower. After he was done with the bottle he put it back under the sink and never said anything until my wife sakes him why the doors to the sink were open. After he removed the toilet he got water from it all over the floor then when he to the front door he stopped and was talking to my wife as he was so that the rest of the water came out of the toilet and got all over the floor mat inside that house. After 2 hours the toilet was finally done. The kid went to fix a leaky o-ring in the shower he turned the water off in the basement he went down and came up in 2 mins and when he went to turn the water back on he came up from the basement almost 10 mins later. The following day(the kid left after the office was closed) we called to inform management what had happened who ever was on the other side of the call was extremely rude and was extremely short with everything he had to say. He the said he has to talk to the employee to verify what we are saying is not us try scam them. Same time later the guy called back and said what we said was true. The guy then offered us a joke of some money off. We told him what we want off and after going back and forth we agreed on price. The price that we paid for the work was not worth the service. For a ""good company"" the customer service was a joke and the workmanship was definitely sub-par. I will NEVER use or recommend John Lockwood Plumbing ever again.
