John replaced a leaky tap with another tap that promptly leaked (but was less leaky). Not a cheap experience. Later, I called John for a plumbing emergency that I thought would be within his skill range to fix, and he called back the next day. Other two plumbers I called never answered, so that gives him two stars.

Always very responsive. Had a plumbing issue at our rental and was able to take care of ASAP. I've used him for multiple plumbing issues in our home and our rental and he's been very good and conscious of cost. Would highly recommend for the area.

Had a great experience with John Chan plumbing. I've read reviews of people not liking them but all good here. They cleared a blockage about 150ft out which was great cause usually no one has enough line to snake that far.

My experiences have run hot and cold. Until this last service call the plumbing work has always been good, but the customer service is VERY poor. Does not show up on time, does not call back. A new worker did a job for me last week---arrived 1 1/2 hours late, took way too much time, and it is still not working correctly. John will not return my calls. Very disappointing.

Great service and quick. They put in 3 low flow toilets for us. Wish we had done it sooner. Then after a wildfire they serviced our water heater to make it safer and fixed a clog in our sink. They were very responsive. We will only call them now. Great customer service!

I wish I'd read and believed the reviews before calling John Chan! My wife and I, moving back to Ukiah, needed a 3 inch septic clean out connection at the end of my stepmom's mobile home. Through a plumber friend I had already found out that we had enough slope for an intermittent RV connection and got an idea how to connect to the existing 3 inch line.

Having come recommended by friends, We called John chan, to whom we explained via phone what we needed. John insisted on seeing everything in person before he would give us an estimate or even schedule the work. He made it clear that he required a fee just to come out and estimate the project. While we were not thrilled with being out at least $50(my wife remembers that it was higher), we just assumed that this might be normal for Ukiah? John made it clear that he was busy but was able to come out the next week.

John arrived, crawled under the mobile home, took our $50 and promised he would give us an estimate by email later before he drove off. That was our last contact with him even though we left numerous messages to his telephone. What a waste of our money! We still are waiting for an estimate six months later.

Eventually with the help of my brother-in-law I was able to make the connection myself and install the clean-out.
