My tankless WH began to have problems about a month ago, it would work for about 10 minutes and then shutdown giving us an error code. I would have to turn the water off, wait for about 10 seconds, and turn it back on. It made taking showers miserable because I would have to cycle between hot water and cold water every time it shut down. I found a few plumbers that were recommended from the Rinnai manufacturer website. John Castro Plumbing was one of them. We texted for a while regarding my WH problems, the make and model, and the error code. He told me that he was booked for a few days, but wanted to give some suggestions on what he thought the problem was, based on his experience. Basically, he gave me a few ideas on how to fix the problem (if I was handy). Well, I am - so I followed some directions and a YouTube video and bam! Problem solved and no parts needed. He didn't have to do that, he could have come out (service charge), inspected my unit (insert fee here) and made the repairs (maybe new parts). I fully expected this repair to cost several hundred dollars. Instead he unselfishly helped diagnose a known issue, ensured that I was capable of doing minor repairs and gave me direction. Like I said, LAST OF THE GOOD GUYS! I'll be sending him a little something as gift . Thanks guys.

Our Rannai Tankless water heater stopped working in the middle of the night and had water dripping from the tank, there was a small leak in the roof and the water dripped through the filter and caused the system to shut down. I went on the Rinnai site and started calling the referrals a couple of places (being day after Christmas) couldn't send anyone then called John Castro, Chris answered and simply said how can I help, what's going on-he immediately put me at ease. I explained the situation and he helped us over the phone guiding us on how to open the system and dry the tank out and we were able to do it ourselves and we got it working!! It was so gracious of him to help us out and not try to milk us for $$$ as we would basically have done anything to get hot water back (family in town). We will now be using John Castro for all future plumbing needs!

We just had Chris over to put in a tankless water heater after reading about these water heaters. I called Chris as he's had 18 years experience with putting them in. He was honest and very patient with the questions my husband and I had. He didn't try to sell us anything extra he told us what size we needed for what we wanted. If anybody wants a tankless water heater he's the man to call.

I wanted a tankless water heater and got a few estimates. I found Chris on Facebook Marketplace and his offer was thousands less than other bids. He has been doing tankless water heaters for 18 years and he is passionate about his craft. Chris just installed a Takagi tankless water heater and his workmanship is outstanding. He is friendly, honest, and provides excellent customer service. I did not need to make multiple calls or emails to get information or updates like other venders.

Easy 5 stars for Castro Plumbing for tankless water heater installation. Found Chris on Craigslist to do a tankless install at my house. Started with a really positivie phone call and a great price quote. I had mentioned that I was going to buy a high end Rheem to replace my 15 y/o defunct Nortiz. Chris recommended another outdoor unit, a Rinnai, that was in his opinion a better solution for my needs (outdoor, heat recirculating). He hooked me up with a supply.com rep who got me a better price than anything advertised on the internet. The day after the new heater arrived Chris was onsite to do the work. Dude is friendly, funny, patient with people like me who ask a lot of questions, and knows his trade. The install went very smoothly, after a few hours of work, we tested the settings to make sure the unit was optimized, installed some extra valves and the hard water filter and we were good to go. The unit he recommended really is an awesome piece of machinery. Life is good with endless (and pretty much instant) hot water. Thanks Chris.

I actually came across John Castro Plumbing when I saw an ad on Craigslist for tankless water heater installation that was competitively priced. I called and spoke to Chris who provided me with different options . I called a few different places and his prices and options were the best so I decided to go for it.


Chris came out, uninstalled my current water heater and installed a tankless water heater as well a wifi module. I couldn't be happier with the results so far. It was exactly as he described it and it looks like there were no corners cut.

Exceptional Customer Service!... Its hard to find good customer service these days.

I recently had my plumber install 2 new tank-less water heaters at my home, but apparently my plumber is not too familiar with tank-less water heaters and system wasn't heating water properly. I called John Castro and his son Chris answered and had me take some photos of the system. He immediately saw what the problem was and walked me through correcting the issue. My system works great now. I really appreciate his selfless and honest customer service. Although he did this for free, this will pay dividens for them in the future as I will join their happy customers and highly recommend them to everyone that may need their services.

Fast, friendly and affordable, I can highly recommend John Castro Plumbing. John recently completed a job for me, replacing my shower valve and fixtures and installing an access panel for the plumbing (where previously there was none). The two other plumbing companies I had contacted before calling John simply rolled their eyes and gave me ridiculously high quotes for this job. Not only did John and his crew offer me an extremely fair price, they finished the job, from arrival to clean up, in less than two hours! He's definitely on the top of my list the next time I need any plumbing work done.

The day after Christmas I went online and purchased a new washer and dryer from Home Depot and it was a nightmare in the making.. I would never shop at Home Depot again.. there delivery people never properly installed the drain hose correctly causing about 100 gallons of water go through my 3rd floor condo into my neighbors unit down stairs.

I contacted John Castro and he saved the day Went to Sears to get my machines everything is working great the price is great and you have a very honest plumber!~
