Recommended Customer Reviews
We have had John C. Flood out twice to our condo to fix a bathroom sink. The technicians and supervisors we have dealt with have always been extremely professional and helpful. The only hiccup in our experience was significant scheduling issues and lack of communication after they originally came out, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I originally wrote a negative review and was contacted personally by a supervisor who did everything he could to make things right. Sometimes snafus happen but I very much appreciate their willingness to take responsibility and try and make things right. We are having them back out for future work, so I suppose that speaks for itself!
Frank D.We have used JCFlood consistently for over 13 years, with occasional other HVAC people thrown in for one reason or another. Flood has been professional, prompt, friendly, courteous, and reliable. I have always found that their prices are competitive and reasonable, yet it is true that they are not cheap.
I recommend them highly. If you are going to use them for an extended period of time, the service contract approach is definitely the way to go. Not only is it a savings, but contract holders get priority service.
Shawn M.My home warranty company selected John C Flood to come look at my dripping tub faucet. Was at first impressed when they called right away saying they had a cancellation and could have a tech at my house within an hour. The guy came and spent 2 hours trying to fix the drip. Came out and told me that he had replaced the washers and brass seats but that he didn't have the proper rebuild kit for my faucet so couldn't replace the stems. That is why it was still dripping. Tried telling me that the correct one would be over $500. Then started talking about that he may have to replace the whole faucet and what not and that would require pulling the surround out or they could possibly reinstall the three handle by just cutting the surround. Either option was well over $1k. Insurance would decide. Stated he tried to call the warranty company but no one answered. For over a week we have tried to get that report, all the while my faucet is still dripping. Thankfully the warranty company just transferred the work order to another company.
i called john c flood and was lied to. they told me the original flood who i have used for 50 years was out of business. these flood guys are not the original john c flood from dc. beware of the lies.
Called Flood because my outlet pipe from the washer overflowed a couple times. Technician spent a couple hours here and charged me $800. Did not use a camera, determined it was fixed by watching the discharge. Few days later washer was still overflowing. Called Flood back and asked if they would give me a discount on coming back. I was told they would have to call me back. Never received a call back. Flood does not back up its work; I will not use them again.
Ulysses S.My experience with this company was awful. Called them to repair a dripping tub faucet. They came out and took a few pictures of the fixture, then we heard nothing back from them until a bill for $99 arrived 2 weeks later. The charge was supposedly for diagnostics, though we never received any diagnostic from them. Michael and Sons, on the other hand, repaired the faucet in 20 minutes on their first visit. One pays $99 for expertise, not for ignorance. John C. Flood was a complete rip-off.
Horrible service. Do not use find someone else. Flood charges $99 to just come to the residence and that amount is not applied to the actual work. The technicians are always trying to sell add ons that may or may not do anything for the problem. They do not stand by their work. First repair call created another problem that Flood refused to resolve and blamed on something else so they could charge an additional $99 to check it out and then demand hundreds of dollars more to research the problem. No thank you. Would never use this company again.
I do not recommend this company at all. They claimed to fix a pipe leak that has caused extensive damage to my house. They also offered to do the ceiling repair. They told me they were going to get back to me with the estimate. Despite repeated phone call I never heard back from them. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I hired a much more competent company. They told me the pipe was still leaking. After 2 failed attempts by JC flood evergreen constructions found the break and fixed it in 10 mins. Stay away from JC flood unless you want your house flooded.
I called and shared with the representative that my water heater stopped working and there is no hot water in my home. He shared that he would send someone out the next day. On the morning of the 9th of May, 2017 a very respectful gentleman showed up. He went down my basement for about 10 minutes and said that we needed to replace the water heater at a cost of $1,900.00. I told him that we meaning my husband and I would have to decide how we were going to pay and we would contact them back after we did some evaluation.
He then! said there would be $179.00 service charge for him coming out, that's what the company charges. I informed him that no one had shared that with me before. The representative from the office called after the gentleman called him. Mr. Flood, he identified himself and told me I had to pay the money prior to his staff leaving. I informed him that once we made a decision regarding how we would pay for the installation. He continued to banger me about no one is going to come to your house for free. You need to write a check or give me a credit card number. He was being forceful and continue to repeat himself. I told him that I would pay once we made a decision. He continue to tell me about he had to pay his man and put gas and pay for the truck. I told him he did not have to continue to repeat himself, but he did. I hung up the phone. I will pay the money via mail but I will never use them again.
After a disappointing initial estimate, we were contacted by the company to resolve the issue and have had a much better experience. They were very quick to want to resolve things and clearly care about their reputation. The customer service that followed was excellent, even though the work we were asking for was small.
A supervisor was sent out to review the estimate and provide full details for the work that were missing on the initial estimate. During that visit, he also offered some advice on other things we may want to explore doing to make the house more efficient. We appreciate this as they were things that seem to have eluded our home inspector.
We were then able to very quickly schedule the work and have it completed. The work done was very thorough and professional and we are very happy with the results.
We must credit the company with great service and concern for their customers in this second experience. The responsiveness and final resolution was excellent even though this was a very small job and we would consider using them for additional work after this.
I must say, it is still important to note that they do charge a $99 estimate fee that can be applied to whatever work you have done. I don't find this outrageous but I do hope they will consider being upfront about this with future patrons.
