As a second-generation professional in the HVAC industry, John comes from a lineage of union plumbers. Following in his father Art's footsteps, he became a journeyman plumber at the age of 19. At 23, John explored the refrigeration aspect of the trade, eventually becoming a journeyman HVAC mechanic.
Known for his outstanding air design concepts, John guarantees your comfort, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Most of John's work is generated by referrals.

I have been using this company since COVID back in 2020. Hot water heater went out and after calling several places that do that kind of work this company was the only one to call back and come out despite the fear that pretty much stopped everything. anyway no judgement, since then they helped with many upgrades. they are a new heater and AC, some bathroom upgrades and other improvements. today Jesus came out and replaced some old angle stops and the powder room faucet. he was quick and everything was fine . I suggest you give them a try and if you do anything major get one of their maintenance plans . that ensures you keep your HVAC in good condition and it saves you money.

Had a technician come out last Wednesday to check my heater, he was courteous, wore a face mask, checked my heater, said it was shot, I needed a new system 55 hundered. Today I had a second opinion, he said my furnace isn't that old, fixed it to the tune of $65.00 , thank God for second opinion!

I have used John Martin Heating and Air for decades. He is an honorable man, his employees are honorable and hard working. But, he retired and North Star took over his customer list.
The North Star employee Juan came out to my home and told me that my floor heater was basically not up to code, he quickly threw out some verbiage that sounded like official state mandated code supporting his deduction.
To to the mandated retrofit to bring my system to code would cost me over $1,800! I asked when said law went into effect and he said for a very long time, years. I asked him why John Martin never told me this and why would he leave me in danger of not bringing my unit up to code - red flag(!!!) John Martin would NEVER do anything other than by the book.
Juan got a bit huffy with me, I asked him to please calm down and again asked how the work he said was necessary when John Martin has serviced my equipment for many, many years and never had issue. I think Juan realized he was caught in a shakedown which ended our communication.
I then called North Star and spoke with the receptionist. I asked for the owner whom she said in Tommy - she would not give me a last name. She said she would pass on my concern to the office manager. I had asked for the owner. She was hesitant to give him my concern.
What kind of a company doesn't tell a customer the owners last name? Something tells me don't walk, run. Just saying if North Star tells you that you need expensive retrofitting equipment on your unit, get a second opinion - this company screams shady!!!!
I got a call from the owner, Tommy within the half hour. I will give him that. He agreed to go access the situation and get back to me. Update to follow....

John A. Martin Heating & Air, Inc. was highly recommend to me. I called them for an appointment for a service call to see what was wrong with my air conditioning. They came the next day. Their technician Bruce was the one who came out. He was very professional and prompt. I will use them for any future air or heating problems I have. I highly recommend them.

Was very pleased with the outstanding service provided by their technician .. Sevag. Very professional and personable service. He called to let me know he was on the way and showed up on time. Explained in great detail the work he was going to do (it was an annual maintenance on my heater) and outlined the cost very clearly. During each step of the process he would explain what was going on .. that is reassuring to me. He even hauled out a dead rat in my attic!! (He could have said nothing and I would never have known.) Very honest individual and represented his company very well. I would use this company again and specifically ask for him again!

Prompt service, always calls back, quality work.
First time I called everything was excellent I would have rather had a quote 1st, instead of finding out at the time due. So the 2nd time I got a quote upfront and unfortunately it ended up being significantly more. I'm a little hesitant to call if I need service, but the work is always excellent.

I used john for the first time recently after a lot of other companies were huge flakes.
He and his crew were timely, courteous and professional. They did a great job replacing all my ducting and registers.
From now on I won't use anyone else for my HVAC.

Simply put, I won't have any one else work on my heating and air, and is the only guy I recommend to my clients! Don't let our names fool you, we are not related, but John has done work for tons of my family and friends. He has always done an outstanding job, and he never tries to oversell you. AC unit went out on Sunday morning. Friend recommended this place. Gave them a call first thing Monday and got a service tech the same morning. Pete showed up promptly and did an awesome job in finding and fixing the issue. Replaced capacitor and also filter and did a check for any other issue. He was courteous and thorough and completely professional. Will definitely use them again.

The apartment complex I live in uses John Martin Heating and Air for our central air/heat. This the 2nd time I have ever had to have them come out and Mike did a great and FAST job! My apartment is already cooler and he's only been gone a 1/2 hour! Thanks Mike!!
