Two busted pipes from the freeze of February 2021. Filled out the info on their website and was contacted the next morning. Was given a reasonable time for an appointment but, when I asked if the appointment was for a free estimate, I was told that it was for a plumber to come out and do the work...no estimate. When I questioned someone coming out to work without knowing the cost, I was told that an estimate was $187.00! They could come out and charge a person an outrageous amount and when the customer declines, Joe the Plumber walks away with $187.00. What a massive ripoff! Way to take advantage of people when they're desperate.

We had a busted pipe in an attic eave. We were "in line" for a plumber with several companies, including "Joe the Plumber". We received a call from them on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 12:14 pm that a technician would be able to see us; the technician would call us before they showed up. They did not call, but they did arrive later in the afternoon.....without a flashlight. As I said, we knew we had one leak, and we were not sure if there were others, tho' we had no evidence there were. He borrowed our flashlight, and my husband guided him to the busted pipe in the eave. After examination of the 1/4-1/2 " slit in the pipe, he said the fee would be $487 to replace a 1 foot section of pipe. That fee included a $97 trip charge. If there were other leaks, there would be additional charges. We had no idea how much fixing any additional leaks would cost, but if you do the math of $487-97 (trip charge), that could be a fairly hefty price tag of almost $390/leak. If this exorbitant fee was because this was a Saturday call, we should have been told. We paid the technician for the trip charge and said "No, thank you." In the future, we are going to try our very best never to use Joe the Plumber for anything. BTW, when going to the website for Joe the Plumber to post this review, we saw they advertised "free estimates" and "restrictions apply." This idea of a "free estimate" was mentioned several times on their website. Ours definitely was not.

I called Joe, The Plumber when the drain line that my washing machine drain connects to backed up during the drain cycle. The first plumber from Joe's was not able to free the blockage with a snake and said he suspected there was a belly in the line causing the water to stand and block the flow from the washing machine. He said a different plumber from Joe's would have to run a camera through the drain to confirm his suspicion. The second plumber came the following evening with a camera and said he confirmed the slope of the pipe was causing standing water and said for $8,200 he would replace the piping. However, once he dug up the old piping he said he could not get the slope required to correct the issue and said I would need to install a pump for an additional $3000 to cover the cost of the pump and the electrician. Over $11,000 later when they had "fixed" the problem, I ran my washing machine and the drain was still blocked and flooded my laundry room. I called Joe's and they said a technician would be there in an hour. The plumber from Joe's identified a stuck switch in the brand new pump tank as the issue. He said he was not sure why it stuck but that he flushed it, it was working and there would be no more issues.  He said I could run the washing machine and guaranteed it was fixed but to call Joe's back if there were any issues. I asked him to stay at my house to make sure it was fixed. Once again, the drain overflowed during the washing machine drain cycle. After a few more hours of troubleshooting, many apologies, promises to "make things right" and calling in a supervisor to assist, they cleared the drain. The supervisor showed me a handful of solids/rocks they removed from the piping. He said Joe's employees inadvertently left these solids in the piping when they did the repair and this would have been identified if his guys had confirmed the washing machine drained before leaving the job site. I believe the solids were the initial cause of the blocked drain and due to miscommunication between Joe's plumbers leading to them making assumptions, they attacked the wrong issue. Now I have a pump that requires annual maintenance by a plumber and landscaping repair costs to remedy where they dug up the piping and buried the pump. When they left the last time on Saturday evening, they told me there would be discussions with management on Monday to determine how to "make this right". They stressed the importance of protecting the reputation of Joe, The Plumber. I was told to rely on that reputation and integrity to accept their version of the situation. It has been 14 days and I have not heard from anyone at Joe's to "make this right".  I have not been provided an invoice with an explanation of the charges totaling over $11,000.  Their electric snake, bucket and gloves are still sitting on my porch and the caps covering my outdoor plumbing lines were not replaced. Their actions speak louder than their words about integrity. I regret not calling another plumbing company for a second opinion when Joe's quoted me such an very expensive repair to a blocked drain.

Free quote cost $87... We had someone from the gas company come out and showed us several places where the gas line outside was leaking. Called joe the plumber the same day and they sent someone out two days later. The plumber could not find any of the leaks the gas company showed us (except one inside an appliance they can't fix, which is fine) then charged me $87 to check for gas leaks again. They did not disclose that there would be a charge before checking for leaks. Not very helpful.

I used Joe the Plumber for a partial bathroom remodel based on the good experience my tile contractor had working with them in the past. I got a quote from a few companies but Joe's had the best pricing and came with my contractor's trust, so it was an easy choice. They were easy to work with, showed up on time, and did a great job. A month later we had a different plumbing issue and called them back. They responded quickly and we again had great service for a reasonable price. I highly recommend them and have recommended them to friends and family.

I had what I thought was a major issue, which turned out to be almost nothing, which was a major relief. As such, I can't really comment on how great they are at plumbing, I can confirm, however, that they show up in the window of time promised, they are polite, responsive, they are good at problem identification, and when they realize the issue is minor, they don't try to sell you on a massive, unnecessary project - they fix the minor problem. The plumber I dealt with, Matthew, was excellent. I will use them again.

Thank you Joe The Plumber for having great guys on your staff like Michael H.. He was very responsive and helpful. He came out diagnosed the issue and provided a solution to resolve. His efficiency in getting the job done allowed me enough time to attend a meeting I expected to miss. Thanks Michael for the excellent work, craftsmanship and timeliness.

I highly recommend Joe the Plumber. I hired him because his referrals were stellar (he's big on Angie's List), and now that he's fixed my leaky hot water heater, I can see why he's so popular. He was fast to respond to my call, and arrived when he said he would. He made short work of repairing the leak, explained the problem thoroughly to me, and charged me a fair price. I will definitely use him again!

Will never use them again. They didn't fix the issue and caused more problems. We had to get a new plumber to fix what they damaged. If I could give them a zero I would!

I was impressed with the front office staff. I needed someone to come on a Saturday and do work, and I was able to text a photo to tell them what I was needing, and they were able to come on a weekend.

However, the work was shoddy at best. The plumber came to fix the handle on the master shower, and replaced one part, but did not put the face plate back on, and left a gaping hole, while charging over $400 for a half done job.
