Dale J.Chad and another guy were at my house this morning to fix a running toilet and replace a sump pump. This company had replaced my water heater through my home warranty previously, so that is why I called them. I had totally forgotten about having a home warranty this time. Chad asked me if I had a home warranty, thankfully. I was able to quickly call the warranty company and get it set up with them. As soon as I got off the phone with the company, Chad's guy said they already had gotten the approval for the work. They were finished in about 45 minutes. Thank you Chad for saving me several hundred dollars by only having to pay my $100 deductible.
Don't us these people, horrible service! Called them out as the basement shower pan has water in it, and this is a shower that is never used. They could not offer a diagnosis of where the water was coming from nor offered any solution to the problem. But they made sure they got there money for doing nothing. I will never use this plumbing service again, not would recommend them to any one.
Ken M.You know it's not going to be a good day when you go into your finished basement to grab a shower and hear water dripping. Not from the shower but from an unknown source in the unfinished back basement area. What a mess! I called my usual plumber but got no answer and no return call. So I reached out to Joe Lay & Sons simply because they're so local to my house. Alison answered and was awesome. She got a hold of DJ who left a job he was on and came right on over. We investigated for more than an hour without any luck in identifying the leaking pipe. The water was dripping from the return duct work on my AC unit and accessing above that was nearly impossible. We tried a few things and finally thought we isolated it to my laundry room on the first floor but to be sure, DJ called his supervisor, Jessie, who came right out. Within about 30 minutes, they'd confirmed it was most likely coming from the laundry room area but still needed to identify where. A few test holes later, they found the culprit. 17 years ago, when we built our house, the drywall crew had screwed through a protective plate and pierced the copper line going to my laundry tub. The screw rusted and finally couldn't hold back the pressure. So within about 10 minutes, DJ had the bad section cut out and repaired. Literally, they made my day!!! Thanks to the entire team at Joe Lay & Sons. It's so nice to be dry again!
If I could give NO Stars, I would. Stay away from these people. They sent ""plumbers"" to our house 5 separate times and could not fix the problem. They also destroyed our current tub and surrounding tile, AND stained our carpet in the process. They also tried to replace the tub they destroyed with one that did not fit! To top it off, they stopped responding to our requests to fix what they destroyed, on we have had to get legal counsel involved. Companies like this are why contractors get bad reputations. roughly 6 months later, we still don't have a tub, and have holes in our kitchen ceiling that they won't agree to repair. Now they want us to submit a claim through our Homeowner's insurance to fix what they destroyed. Unbelievably negative experience with these jokers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
Lisa Z.The plumbers were excellent. They walked us through what the problem was and what to expect. They worked with our warranty company and quickly got our next scheduled visit and solved the issue in half the time expected. Also gave advice on how to prevent issues and maintain our pipes in the future. Highly recommend them.
Fantastic group of people - Allison, DJ and Brian. This company came to me by way of my home warranty company. This is hands-down the best experience that I have ever had with a plumbing group. They were courteous, prompt (actually early), and efficient. Customer service was top-notch, also. This is my idea of a contractor.
I contacted Joe and Lay and sons plumbing to address a couple issues. They promptly responded and got out to address my issues. They were very professional and clean cut. They resolve my issues and I was very impressed.
Darla J.John and Tim did a great job. They were actually early arriving and finished installing the water heater in a little over an hour. I'll use Joe Lay & Sons again!!
Maria L.Really nice guys. They came out fixed a clog. They explained everything clearly and were great at answering any questions I had. Would deff recommend them.
Let me say before I start that Chad & Donny represent the company very well. They were helpful and very hardworking. They went beyond what was asked of them to make sure our plumbing issue got taken care of. they both stayed late into the night on a Saturday when they could have very easily gone home due to poor road and weather conditions. I could see that they took personal pride in the work they do. That is the only good thing I have to say in this review. We were referred to this company by through the company that holds our warranty. The customer service and accountability of this company is sub par at best. No one returns calls. If you are lucky enough to speak to a representative of the Company you are treated like an interruption.
I experienced this today from the genius they have fielding phone calls who goes by the name Rob. Please do not let this man anywhere near a phone dealing with a dissatisfied customer!!!!! You would think that a person would be understandably frustrated after 4 days with no plumbing. Especially since the workers themselves assured us that we would receive follow up calls after 2 visits totaling nearly 10 hours with no solution to our plumbing issue. The lack of professionalism and accountability by this man was astounding. He even had the nerve to comment it "" Its not my fault that you bought a house with a plumbing problem that's not covered by warranty"". His exact words!!! I will never recommend this company and am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm also going to contact my warranty company & demand an explanation as to why they would ever consider doing business with such an incompetent company.
