Used Joe Johnson Plumbing (lic 971266) several times over the years for small jobs like clogged sinks. The wife called him (greg, the owner) when the time came to adress a water heater.... the plumber neglected to mention to my wife that it required a permit and performed the work without it. When asked to seek the proper permits and to make sure the work was done correctly, he proceeded to stonewall for over a month and simply didnt show up on numerous appointments.

the result is that we will have to have another plumber re-check and re-do everything properly.

the office staff mentioned that he may not have a proper business license for our city... another red flag.

always disppointing to deal with these type of situations so please beware.

Here is the fact set, you decide.
Had trouble with my sewer. Joe said it couldn't be snaked had to be replaced, $4000. He replaced it, but it still didn't drain. Ran a camera, said there was an ""offset"" in the street and it would cost $15,000-$20,000 and required permission from the county to tear up the road. I freaked out. Called another plumber who diagnosed that Joe had completely misunderstood the camera reading and the obstruction was where Joe connected his new sewer line into the city line causing the ""offset"" and the drainage problem. New plumber charged me $300 to excavate, reset pipe, surround with concrete to prevent future offset and properly compact soil. Still don't know if original sewer line needed to be replaced.

I own thirty rental properties. Never called him again.

We've used Johnson Plumbing for over twenty years. They are a trusted small company that have trusted employees. Besides taking care of plumbing problems and upgrades, they remodel bathrooms beautifully. I appreciate their timeliness, efficiency, and their ability to not leave a mess behind. I wish I can rate this company with 5 stars.
I had repipe job done one year ago. I discovered very loud water flow noise from the ceiling after our tenants moved out. I called this company for this problem. The owner Craig came the following weekend to verify my concern. Although I had to persuade him try to isolate the noise, I was surprised he called me back after two weeks and he came over with his assistant to install pipe insulation without charge. The noise is not as loud as before.

My agent recommended me to Johnson Plumbing. They came on time. They fixed what needed to be fixed. I just feel that the price was a little high. I asked for a quote but he said it depended on how long it takes. It took less than 90 min & I was charged $235. Greg (I think that was his name) also gave me a quote to re-pipe my house to copper plumbing. When I told him I will get couple other quotes, he starts to say he's the best, he uses best grade copper (copper L instead of M grade), etc. I appreciate that and he might be right. I still gonna get a couple other quotes and have my house re-pipe this summer. Will update.

I needed a Good ,Fast, Honest plumber. I had a burst pipe that was leaking in the ceiling, causing lots of damage fast. I first called the Family Plumber in Los Alamitos. They still had about two hours left before closing, but didn't want to come out. Ok... I can maybe understand that if they are busy. So, they scheduled to be ther first thing in the morning. They called an hour and a half late. When they got there, they took a look and said they would be back later. One hour, two hours... nothing. I called Johnson Plumbing. He came right out, gave me a decent price, and repaired it all within an hour or so. Great work guys!

As for Family Plumbing, they called to check in many hours after the job was done by Joe Johnson Plumbing.

Joe Johnson Plumbing came out a replaced a water and gas line from our front house to a rear house and garage. The lines were old and leaking. Joe was the 5th plumber to give us a bid and he gave us the best price. He was professional throughout the entire process and was informative on what he was going to do and the type of plumbing that was going to be used.

The project was completed in a timely manner and everything looks great. There was a minor problem with a defective part which required a repair, which was done quickly without complaints. I will be definitely hiring him again on future jobs.
