I called this company to come out to check my AC unit and within 5 minutes of being here they tried to charge my $400 worth of work and when i told them I was not going to pay that outrageous amount because i never approved $400 worth of work they said they would waive the $400.. THIS IS HOW PEOPLE GET SCAMMED!!! This company is nothing but scammers. They wrote me an estimate for $1700... I went and got a new thermostat and install it and my AC is working fine now!!! People beware of the scam!!!! its amazing how blunt this company tries to scam there customers.... BEWARE!!!

If I could give this company less than one star (or negative 5 stars) I would. Joe Cool called me for my $39.00 spring service (they do the spring and fall maintenance) and I scheduled the appt. My unit was working fine prior to them coming out to service it. The tech tried high pressure tactics to sell me a new unit when he arrived for the service, and I refused. A few days after the spring maintenance service, the house started getting warm and wasn't cooling properly, and a few days thereafter the unit froze up in the attic and the water from the thawing unit caused a ton of damage to my son's bedroom below. I called a different company to fix the issue (because I have a home warranty plan and used their a/c service contractor for the repair) and the tech said the unit froze because the valves were left loose when the recent maintenance was performed by Joe Cool which caused the R410 to leak out and the unit to freeze. The company that fixed the frozen unit and added R140 and noted on their invoice that the issue was caused by the loose valve caps. I provided copies of the invoice to Joe Cool, along with photo of the highly damaged bedroom ceiling (located below the a/c unit in the attic) the damaged walls, and the damaged mattress, and they have refused to pay anything. Worst company ever, and I am highly suspicious they intentionally caused the R140 to leak out to make me think my unit was broken and sell me a new unit. I am a single mother, and this company took advantage of me and cannot be trusted.

I gave one star because zero was not an option! BEWARE! This is clearly a sales oriented company. I had Mark (their technician) come out to do one of their 30 point inspections for $30. He deceived me into thinking I needed a entirely new AC unit while telling me inflated prices for repairs making it seem that a new AC was the only way to go. To top it off he got mad when we had said were going to get another quote. He quoted me $6,500 for a 16 seer 3 ton carrier ac unit. Not only was this way overpriced but he stuck around for 3 hours trying to convince me this wasn't overpriced. He also stated that my outside fan didn't match in size with my actual unit. Needless to say I call Custom Air and got the greatest service ever without getting deceived just to make a buck. $400 later Cool Air fixed my problem and never once tried to sell me something. Mark even text me after calling me asking if I got his voice mail. I spoke with his GM that also tried to sell me on this AC unit when the technician from Cool Air told me mine is still under warranty. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!

On April 11, Dale came to the house to check out a sluggish flush on my toilet. He had to lift the toilet to snake the drain, and was greeted with a cockroach colony. To his credit, he was a real trooper! He got the infestation under control, and pointed out to me that there was a gap in the wax ring and that was how they were gaining access from the pipe. I paid an extra $285 for a new flange, and it was my understanding that would prevent any further entry. Dale was patient, considerate and professional. It wasn't until after he left that I noticed he had not caulked the back side of the toilet. I didn't think too much of it until I noticed several roaches in the house and yes, they could have come in anywhere, but I have cats that started staking out that opening which they would not do unless there was something going on there. On May 23, I visited Joe Cool's location in Pinellas Park. I explained to the woman who greeted me what had happened and that I wanted to talk to Dale about it. Shortly afterwards, I received a call from another woman [did not get her name], who thought I just wanted someone to finish caulking the toilet. I explained the situation to her and she said, """"We're not exterminators."""" I told her that I wasn't asking for that service, that I wanted to clarify what Dale had done. I tried repeatedly to clarify what I was asking, but her response was always """"We don't get rid of bugs"""" and """"Bugs get in."""" This would have been a 5-star review if based on Dale's visit alone, in spite of the incomplete job [minor, and something I can do]. The customer service, however, was disappointing. I felt that the person I spoke with was not listening and her responses were dismissive.

They explained what they found during the review, what was working well and any suggestions/options that they recommended- all in easy to understand terms. Thank you Shane and Shawn!! Joe Cool has been servicing our Plumbing/AC for years; however the last 3 times out the tech has quoted very either unreasonably high prices or unnecessary work. The tech came out to quote a toilet replacement, looked at the job and sat in his truck for 10 minutes writing up an estimate. He presented the quote and It floored me so said there was 'no way'. He asked about the kitchen faucet I asked him the install a part on a prior visit. His quote was $300.00 and I turned it down and did myself ..... it was such a simple job and totally out of ballpark. When baulking at the prices, tech asked 'you want me to call my Manager?' What I want is a fair price without the drama. I called another service and am so happy I did. They came out the next day and gave me a price that was less than 1/2 of Joe Cool's quote. I'm done with Joe Cool and will be taking my business and service contracts elsewhere.

Called them last week, needed a new A/C unit, it was over 20 years old simply wasn't working anymore...a friend advised me to call them....they came to my home quickly and gave me a great quote and and had my new system in within 24 hours, they also recommended some air quality products which have done wonders for my Dad, who has some breathing issues...Thanks Joe Cool

We had two brand new systems installed in 2014, multiple, multiple issues with many service calls to fix problems over the past 4 years and just Thursday we needed to have 1 unit seen and i received a call from a stranger 2 hours before my appointment time on the following friday informing me no-one would be coming because they will no longer be servicing my area. I took half the day off work and had a complete stranger over. A 2 minute conversation told me after all the headaches i was on my own; thanks, no warning no notice, just screwed me with a system that constantly has issues. there was another alarming issue with them but will not go into that. I found another company to come to my home last minute to address the current issue and all they could do is shake their head and tell me my new system (2014) was installed all wrong and now will have to come out of pocket to fix the long standing issues, RUN from this company people!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Everything you read in the reviews is right on. They are just a collection of bad people doing bad business. Not dependable, not honest at all, and no integrity. We had to learn the hard way. We wish we would have read the yelp reviews on them and listened to all the warnings.

These people do everything they can to avoid telling you what you will pay for their services. I had them replace my AC unit and all ductwork. One side of my building gets more than enough air flow while the other side (bedrooms) get extremely low flow. That has to be quite wasteful at night. They sent a tech that knew very little about the system and now hang up on me when I request to speak to a manager. Don't expect professional care from Joe Cool.
