Recommended Customer Reviews

Unfortunately, I write this review with a great deal of sadness! I have used Jo-Mi plumbing for over 30 years. Generally, we were happy with their service. No major complaints. However, over the last year, we've noticed a huge shift in service and have found ourselves very frustrated with their complete lack response.
I have made several attempts over the past year to have them come and work at our house. Calvin never calls us back, and if I can catch his son Luke on the phone, I just keep hearing about how busy they are. They apologize and say they will get back to us, but no one ever does. Very strange because we've always had a great working relationship. No negative interactions or conflicts, only positive exchanges over the years. So this lack of response and disregard is surprising and not characteristic of our history with them.
I had them instal a tankless water heater (Rinnai) a few years ago and now we have NO hot water for over a week. Based on Luke's report, they will get back to me, so we have been waiting. We have NO hot water to take showers, clean cloths, or do our dishes. They have left us stranded and hanging on their promises. So, it is with great regret that I write this negative review. Today, I would never recommend Jo-Mi Plumbing and would recommend to stay away !!!!

When I called Jomi about a broken dryer duct, they told them that they were very busy but could schedule me over three weeks out. I took the appointment and did without a dryer for the interim. The day of the appointment, they not only did not show up, when I called to find out where they were, they had clearly forgotten and said they were ""too busy"" to honor the appointment they made and ""might be able to come in 4 days."" So douchey, unethical, inconsiderate, dishonest and unprofessional. Do not get jerked around by these guys - avoid.

As a baby boomer, I appreciate old school. But, trying to schedule an appointment with Jo-Mi is like pulling teeth. 3 times now, I've left a message or been told they'd call back with no response. I don't feel like I need to chase down a company for my business. So I called another also highly rated plumber who is sent someone out the next day.

The hot water in our kitchen wasn't working correctly. We called to make an appointment and were given one 3 weeks away and near the day of the appointment we realized they gave us one where the date/day didn't match (like they said Thursday the 18th but Thursday was the 16th.) When we called to find out the correct date, they said we didn't have an appointment. Ok ok, just a mix up. New appointment scheduled, again a few weeks away, but hey, they can't help it that they're busy.
At the appointment we're told there's a broken part that has to be ordered and when it comes in in about a week, they'll call to make a new appointment. THAT WAS THREE MONTHS AGO. Obviously, if the part has been ordered, they aren't responsible for global supply chain issues, but what they are responsible for is their inability to communicate. Every.single.time. we call, someone says, ""oh the part came in"", ""oh it doesn't say we're waiting on a part"", ""oh no it says the part isn't in yet"", ""oh no the issue wasn't related to a part."" Then after you receive whatever news that completely contradicts the news you heard the week prior, they say, without fail, they'll have to check with someone and get back to you. THEY WILL NEVER GET BACK TO YOU. Actually, that's not true. I think once in three months, they did leave us a voicemail with no information that just said to call them back, where when we did, the person answering it again said, they'd have to check with someone and call us back.
So I would just say if you want a plumber who will diagnose your issue and then solve it, while consistently giving you the same story, these are not the plumbers for you. If you instead want to have to call several times to hopefully find out why your plumbing isn't fixed, by all means, these are your plumbers.

I had the hardest time finding anyone who specialized in solar hot water heaters, so when I did find Jo-Mi Plumbing, I was thrilled. I live outside of their regular service area, so they threatened an extra $50 fee for travel, but then backed off that. They didn't charge me a fee, but I think they baked it into the time estimate, because they weren't here as long as they said they were. The technician came and was very nice, but very confused by our crazy system that some city program had apparently installed a while back. He ultimately charged us $300 to pour $16 worth of glycol into the system, and hose off our solar panel for a while. The problem, which was clanging pipes, wasn't fixed.
The weird part is everything that came after that. I spoke with Kelvin later who was extremely kind. He tracked down the manual for our system, said it was terribly engineered, and offered to remove it for something like $600-$700 dollars. We couldn't afford that, he said the system wouldn't blow up, so I called back to let them know that we'd like them to send me the manual he'd found and the bill for the $300. We'd just live with clanging pipes for a while. Six calls and text message over the course of a month and a half, and I finally got the bill but never got the manual or any of my other repeatedly asked questions answered. I've never had to beg to overpay a business before. I called to settle up, and again, weirdly, I still haven't been charged. In that phone call, I again asked for the manual, was told it would be sent, and it never was.
Everyone I spoke with was very kind, so I feel bad giving such a low star rating, but also I had a terrible experience getting anyone to follow up with me about any of my questions. It's been months, and my payment somehow still isn't resolved, with the problem being that they simply won't take my money (but keep saying they will)?! And yeah, our pipes still clang constantly.

I have been a customer of Jo-Mi for about 8 years. The other week, my kitchen sink was leaking profusely when I turned the water on. I tried to figure out the problem myself and had my dad and neighbor take a look at it, but in the end I needed to call Jo-Mi. The plumber Mike was in my condo for no more than 7 minutes. He diagnosed the problem by pulling out the wand on the faucet and tightening something. He did not need to look under the sink, use his flashlight or tools, or get on his knees. The leak was fixed when the loose part was tightened. Despite the shortness of the 7-minute visit, Jo-Mi charged me $100. The worst part is that when I took my dog out to pee later, Mike was still sitting in his truck in the driveway of my condo complex. He was texting. So I was essentially paying him to park illegally in the driveway of my building and send texts. I waved to Mike and wished him a good day. I am also sending my $100 payment to Jo-Mi now for the 7 minute visit. However, I will not be calling them again. And yes, I do feel a little stupid for not being able to diagnose the source of the leak myself. But I am not a plumber. I am a local customer just like most others. I am not looking for freebies, but $100 for 7 minutes seems out of line. So disappointing.

This is a very professional company. We have used them for years for various plumbing jobs (clogged sinks, toilets, installing new shower equipment, servicing our tankless hot water heater) and we have never been disappointed. Do excellent work, punctual, and they all know their profession. The whole team is great.

If I could, I would? give Jo- Mi a zero !!
How absolutely? disappointing?, frustrating and unprofessional? to spend over an hour going over the details of what needs to be done and then never even receive a quote for the job, which btw, was a ?substantial job (and worth a few thousands of dollars?).
I called Jo- Mi's office on a number of occasions to follow up on? the quote and receive?d calls from? the office and Kevin, himself, ?apologizing and asking? for more time, which we agreed to... Weeks have gone by, but we never received a quote nor at the end, a courtesy call or an? email. What a complete waste of time and energy. Now that I checked the yelp reviews, I guess other people? are stating similar experiences with Kevin and Jo- Mi. So don't bother - it's a waste of time.

20 years ago I would have given Jo-Mi a 5 star. Now, I have been waiting a month to get my toilet fixed. The parts were supposedly ordered in early December, and now, early January, I am told that they have to check on the part. I was told that I would also need to replace a faucet. I ordered the faucet myself and had it 2 days later. Still waiting on Jo-Mi to replace the old one. I am told every day that they will call me back, and they never do. Tim is my service man. Really poor service, in fact, no service.

Jo-Mi has been my go to plumber for decades. Reliable, honest, and helpful are the virtues of service they possess and i can always count on Jo-Mi to deliver every time.
