Our sewer line was clogged with roots, with sewer water coming up through our shower drain and seeping from underneath one of the toilets, ugh. We called J&M Rooter and arranged for Jesus to come assess the situation later that day. He got held up at one of his jobs, but he called to let us know he would arrive later than scheduled, and he did arrive at his re-scheduled time.

We told him we didn't have an easily-accessible clean out, and he walked around the house to confirm. He gave us 2 options: to access the sewer line by removing and then re-installing a toilet, which would be labor-intensive but could be done by just him, or to access the sewer line via the roof vent, which would require him to call for a second person since one would work on the roof while the other would control the motorized snake from the ground. He gave us quotes for each option, for the toilet method a fixed price and for the roof vent method a fixed price based on hourly rates for 2 and an estimated 1 hour of work; we opted for the roof vent method. His second man (his dad) arrived shortly after Jesus called him; it was starting to get dark and they got right to work.

After a while, they learned their 150' snake was not long enough to reach the clogged portion of the sewer line; fortunately they had a 50' cable extension in the truck. They had to pull the snake all the way back out, attach the extension, and try again. With the extension, they reached and successfully cleared the clog. All told, they spent over an hour and a half to clear the line, but Jesus honored his original quote and still took the time to pick up the small amount of roots/debris the snake had pulled out; Jesus even got his flashlight out to check the area and made sure it was as clean as it was originally.

They did a great job, and both Jesus and his dad were personable and polite.

It had been some years since we ran a snake down our rear yard drainage pipes and with the heavy rains this January, the patio drains were starting to back up, not keeping pace with the heavier rainfall.

I spotted a recommendation for this family plumbing company on NextDoor and called right away at 9 AM. Jesus Sr. took my call and they were able to swing by within 2 hours to evaluate the job.

The owners, Jesus Sr. and Jesus Jr., a fine young man in his late 20s or 30s, and plenty fit and energetic, actually came 10 minutes early! They patiently waited outside until I got dressed in my rain gear and met them outside.

They sized up the landscaping drainage situation and analyzed the plumbing and the clean out that was available. All in heavy rain! :)

Both father and son worked hard and steady for 90 minutes, including doing some shovel work into garden spots to locate the plumbing and clean outs.

And they quickly dispatched a very large power auger and snaked out the critical drain pipe, blocked by Oleander roots, that hooked up to the county drainage swale on the other side of our rear yard fence.

They did a great job and solved the problem efficiently, always polite and cheerful.

90 minutes later they were packed up and on the road and I even rounded up the payment with a gratuity for coming so quickly and putting our drainage system back in proper order to handle the heavy rain, during a downpour!

I recommend Jesus and Jesus Jr. without reservation. I told the dad that he did a fine job raising his son, and I meant it.

Jesus answered my call on Saturday morning during the rain storm on new years eve. He was working a call and asked me to text my address to him and he there in two hours. Resolved the issue with the drains right away. He came back out today and snaked the surface drains as a preventive measure before the next storm comes in. We were living with a clogged bathtub on and off for about two years and drano was no longer cutting it. And then our bathroom sink started clogging as well.

I called Jesus at 9:00am. He came an hour later. He was able to unclog both my sink and bathtub. We have lived in this house for 7 years and we were not sure if the pipes have ever been cleaned. If it wasn't cleaned before, Jesus made sure it was.

We discovered a leak in our main water line between the meter and the house. Jesus and crew came out the next morning and within 3 hours had done a bang up job of replacing a section of pipe. He took photos and got the job done right the first time.

Our water heater started gushing water from a leak on a Friday night. We called Jesus the next day and he came with 2 others. They were excellent, efficient and very reasonably priced (we had called other companies for quotes). I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Jesus is the man! I had an emergency call because our toilet in our bathroom was backed up. I had roommates that couldn't use the bathroom and couldn't flush the toilet or shower. I tried contacting every plumbing company on yelp but they were not available. Only Jesus with Contra Costa Rooter is the only company that picked up the phone and that actually came right away. This call was at 9:30 pm on a Friday night and he was in my house within, kid you not, 10 minutes. He absolutely could have over charged me because we couldn't find the clean out access but explained clearly the other options. Luckily he helped out and we looked for the clean out access together. While performing the job, he even educated me on how my plumbing system works. Jesus did not over charge me but instead gave me the best value by getting the job done correctly and educating me at the same time. If you guys are looking for a Roto Rooter, trust me and just go with this company instead.
