A bathroom sink was clogged in my house, and J & L quoted a rate similar to others here on yelp. I went with J & L because of the great reviews. The response time was great, and the plumber was very professional. However, he said that the job would be $99 if there was a clean out access or $149 if there was not a clean out access.

In the past, I had never been quoted 2 different rates for unclogging a drain, and I didn't understand what a clean out access is. The tech said that if there was no access, he would have to remove a pipe under the sink to clean it out. An appointment was set for later that day. After checking the drain, the tech ran the snake through the drain directly from the sink, and it seemed like he only had to unscrew a small part under the sink and then replace it once the drain was clear. I never saw him take anything apart under the sink.

The whole job took less than 15 minutes, and cost me $149 for a simple drain clearing, but at least he did not leave a mess. I asked for a receipt; he said to text me my email address and he would email the receipt to me. A week later, I still do not have a receipt, and I still don't know why such a simple job could not have been done for $99. I do have a new lesson learned: the next time I don't understand an aspect of any job (like the clean out access in this one), I should do my research so I can know what I am paying for.

Thank you so much Luis for saving my bathroom amidst the craziness of the holiday season! Late one night one of my toilets downstairs started overflowing, and since the drain was backed up, the toilet in the other bathroom started leaking as well. Had a mini meltdown but managed to get a hold of Luis at 11pm. He came out the next day, examined everything and long story short was able to clear the drains and get everything flowing properly. Cleared my shower drain as well (I'm sorry for all the hair!). Very patient throughout the process and took the time to explain everything. Reasonable price as well. Highly recommend, thank you Luis!!

Getting a quote and appointment spot was a very quick process and they were out the next morning.
I got multiple quotes and with a simple picture text or the issue he was by far the cheapest quote.
Only thing is I was a little turned off by was my tech constantly telling me not to put stuff in my garbage drain. I'm well aware of what is not supposed to go down the drain but I have 4 kids who sometimes just toss stuff in the sink. I'm also confused on why he was taking pictures of the juice box tops he took out of my garage drain? Was that going to effect the quote to fix the garbage disposal which was a separate job I needed done? I also wish he would have told me about the huge sticker on the side of the disposal that said ""3 year warranty"" before quoting me 3xx plus to replace it for a new one or at least asked how old it was.

But over all happy with the job they originally came for.

It's Christmas morning and I took my shower...went to turn it off and it wouldn't shut off. The knob just stopped working.

I had a full blown meltdown and knew it would be nearly impossible to find someone to help on Christmas morning. So me and my boyfriend started YouTubing and taking everything apart. Nothing worked. We shut our main water off and started calling people.

We went down the list of plumbers on Yelp and called at least 10 places before landing on J&L.

Luis answered and listened to my mini meltdown filled with anxiety. And to my surprise, he said he could come help!!! He showed up quickly and resolved my shower issue with ease. He was extremely professional and definitely reliable. I will definitely save him for any future issues I may have with my home and businesses plumbing, and have already recommended him to my social groups.

Now, my shower handle feels smoother than It did when we first built our home!

The response time for them to come out was within 3 hrs of us calling them. Which was great since we had a morning emergency....our main drain line was clogged and we had clogged toilets and bathtub....not a pretty site. Luis came out and did a great job, he ran the cord through 2 of our overflow pipes and made sure everything was unclogged. He was out here 3hrs when it should have only taken 1hr max, so they really do care the job is done right. Will definitely use them in the future!
