I called Jim's to repair drips in my bathroom and kitchen faucets and a drip in my tub handle. The bathroom and kitchen just needed to have the washers replaced. The tub handle is much older and I wasn't sure how to fix it. Two ""techs"" showed up, apparently one in charge and one his helper. The one in charge looked at the brand on the faucets and said, "" I don't work on cheap big box brand of fixtures."" He said everything, including the tub handles, had to be replaced or it would not be cost effective. Then he sat here trying to sell me expensive new faucets. While he was doing this, his helper fixed the kitchen sink with a $3.50 part, in less than 30 minutes. He said he could also fix the other faucet and the one in charge said ""don't bother."" So when I wouldn't buy new faucets the one in charge got upset and went out to his truck to write my receipt. He wrote on the receipt "" customer did not want to spend money to properly repair or replace faucets ""NO WARRANTY"" applies. He sent his helper in with my bill for $191.00, $3.50 for the part and $187.50 for 1.5 hours of labor+ drive time. I called the company a few days later to tell them I was not happy with the service I received. He started yelling at me and telling me I was to cheap to fix my plumbing problems. WOW!!! I hung up. I will never call Jim's again.

Very poor customer service. Refused to even give a ball park amount and when I said I didn't want to write a bad check he said they accept credit cards implying I could pay whatever they asked without prior knowledge. Then Jim wouldn't give me an estimated time they would be here. Very disappointing.

These guys came out and solved our issue quickly and for a lot less then I thought. They were friendly and professional

Just had a home inspection done. The inspector stated that the whole house plumbing was done terrible. Didn't put enough supports and pex is sagging, the runs don't follow the floor joists and the holes for the pipe wasn't drilled the way a professional plumber would have done. I would never use these people again and if I loose the sale of my house because of the job they did it might get worse for Jim than better. They also did a horrible clean up job.

Had a really simple job of putting two tiny fittings together. The faucet was all ready installed just couldn't get the different size fittings to seal.
Called and the office sent two boys to do a five minute job. First thing the boy asked was where the water shut off valve was. It was not necessary to shut the water off and I said so. The boys stayed out by the truck for 10 minutes or more trying to figure a way to put two new shut off valves on under the sink go under the house and cut the pipe and install new hose fittings. They wanted to do way more than the simple 5 minute job of hooking up two fittings. That's why they asked where the water shut off was.
Yes, just putting sealing tape on and screwing them together. I told them just put the fittings together the water doesn't need to be shut off.
This cost me $120 ladies and gentlemen. I guess they need two boys one to stand and watch and tell the other one what to do. Way too much money. I do not recommend this company at all and if you have to use them like I did then know exactly what needs done and watch them very, very, very closely to see that that is all they do. Way not impressed. Service is something that no one knows anything about any more. Least of all this company. Oh I got $5 for senior discount. $125 for five minutes instead of $130. Yay. No more bidness from me thank you so very much.

At first I was impressed by this company. They came out right away to get started. I was referred to this company by my realtor so chose them based on the recommendation. I had previously used Cherry City Plumbing with great happiness.. The decision to use this company was a huge mistake. But I will say the guys who actually did the work were very nice and sweet. But the owner was very confrontational about the bill. He was very nice when he came to give me the bid however. Very pleasant. So now to the charges. I was told he charges by the hour 105.00 for one guy and 130.00 if he sends 2 he also came out on the first day to write up the bid for the job. The quote was for more than 1600.00 I was assuming he thought the job would take many more hours than it did. He did explain it was just an estimate and that number could change. Again leaving me to believe I was paying by the hour. My actual hours came to just over 600.00 in labor then of course some supplies. I was charged the entire 1600+ when I told him that wasn't right he got confrontational and said I am charged for all the time it takes to get supplies ready for my job and drive time. I was also told he didn't charge me to come out and give me the bid that he didn't charge for his time. And that he was more than fair. I asked him if it was fair that when one of the guys didn't have his tools because someone else took them and didn't put them back and he had to go get them that I was charged for that time? As well as when they didn't have the right parts and had to go get them even though they had been out to look at the job and knew what needed to be done. He said that the guys have to go back to the shop all the time for stuff and yes I am charged for it. So I would never recommend this company to anyone. You will pay for much more than you should. I will go back to using Cherry City Plumbing who put my hot water heater in and only charged me for the actual time they were here and it was even a lower hourly rate. And by the way wouldnt take credit cards even though the bid had the visa symbol on it

We used Jim's plumbing about four years ago and had good service when they came to repair a clogged bath-tub. Which is why when our bathroom sink started acting up, we called them to come help out. Hubby called on a Friday in which they stated they didn't have the availability to come out that day but could on Monday. He said that was fine.
Monday rolls around and hubby realizes no one can be home. Jim's plumbing calls a little after 9am, and hubby state's that day isn't good for us that his wife (me) doesn't work on Friday and could we just schedule an appointment for Friday. They then inform him that they don't schedule appointments and would call him Friday morning to set-up a timeframe.
Friday morning comes around. 10:30am, no call so we call them. They don't have us on their list but can get us in that day. We asked if they can come after 1:00pm, in which they tell us ""no, but we'll call and give you a timeframe in about an hour"". That was fine with us. 12:15 they call my husband wanting to know where we are because they're at our house. Ummmm they never called us. Hubby rushes home from work (fortunately 5 miles away) and I rush home from West Salem (we're in Dallas). Hubby goes back to work and I stay there while the gentleman fixes our sink.
We have two small dogs. To be considerate of the plumber we kenneled them in our garage so they wouldn't bother him. Each and every time the plumber went out to his van he complained about our dogs barking at him through the garage. At one point saying ""you need to have better control of your dogs"". For us, this was not okay. We understand dogs aren't for everyone, but this is why we had them kenneled. They would only bark when they could hear him on the other side of the garage. I politely advised him that I did have control over my dogs and politely kenneled them so they wouldn't bother him while he was on the floor trying to fix our sink.
It took him slightly over an hour to fix our sink. Great. Then we were presented with a $138.40 bill. I asked why we were being charged for an hour and a half of service when he was only there for an hour and five minutes. His response? ""we charge you for our travel time to the job"". So if they were traveling from Albany I'd have to pay for 45 min of time? I told him he only traveled from Monmouth and that does not take 30 minutes. He replied it did him because he was stuck in roadwork. He also then pointed out the $15 ""wear and tear"" fee on their equipment. Isn't this a normal cost of running a business? I understand businesses have products that break down, but figure that into the hourly cost. Don't call it ""wear and tear"" on their product. That's ridiculous.
With all of this combined, we will NOT being going back to Jim's plumbing nor will be ever recommend them.

I found a leak in a junction of our main water line and decided it was too much for me to do alone. I called a few places and Jim said he'd come over in the morning. He arrived on time, carefully examined the problem, explained why the connections had failed, and got to work. Jim fixed everything like a pro with better connections than the originals. As a bonus, he has a great sense of humor. Thanks Jim!
