At the end of summer, my AC broke. I would have thought that most of the emergencies would have already happened, but called three other places before calling Jimmy Gusky LLC. They answered the phone promptly and courteously (other places didn't answer, didn't call back, or were surly), and could get a technician on-site this morning. Less than 2 1/2 hours after the first call the AC was fixed and didn't cost too much.
Milli H.We called Jimmy Gusky to come do routine maintenance for our air conditioning unit. It was the beginning of the summer, this is our first home, we were told that regular maintenance for air conditioning units was a good and responsible thing to do -- so we said what the heck, let's do it. Mind you, our air conditioning unit was working perfectly well -- we had no concerns about it. A technician from Jimmy Gusky came by (who was, as an aside, incredibly rude -- I don't know whether his problem was that I was a woman, or that I was non-white, but I assume one of those things as he seemed to be far less condescending to my husband) and told us we needed more freon. He put in the freon and left. The next day, the air conditioning unit stopped working entirely. Another technician from Jimmy Gusky came out, told us that our unit had too much freon, and removed some of it. A day later, the system stopped working again, the technician came back and removed more freon and added some sealant to the pipes, and left. A couple days later, the air conditioner stopped working yet again. This time, another Jimmy Gusky technician told that the fan in the air conditioner was broken. This was, of course, not their fault -- they said it was ""purely coincidental"" that the fan happened to break in the midst of the repairs (just 2 days after their technician had last come out). Anyway, they replaced the fan. The unit worked fine for about 6 weeks, though it was much louder than it had been before (presumably because of the quality of the new fan). Today, it stopped working again. We called Jimmy Gusky, who told us that our problem wasn't their problem and that they would charge us their full service fee for the follow-up repair.
We've asked another company to come fix the problem that Jimmy Gusky created.
I called Jimmy Gusky after having searched through Yelp reviews. My AC unit was not cooling the upstairs apartment of the house I rent. I called at about 9am and requested service by noon. After a few standard questions i was told a technician could be out. At about 11 the technician called and informed me he would not be able to service until about 1:30 which I thought was still reasonable based off my initial call time and based off the fact he did give notice. I was explained again there'd be an $89 fee which would be applied to the cost of service. I did not anticipate getting the work completed same day but my roommate contacted me (I was not able to stay for the service) and informed me that everything went well and the unit was fixed. She told me the technician, Tom Kelly was very pleasant and friendly. I appreciate Jimmy Gusky for their fast and pleasant service and will contact them if ever I have any issues in the future.
The AC unit in my condo went out during one of the hottest times of the year. Jimmy found the last through the wall unit and came right away and installed it. They were fast and professional. He was even so helpful when I lost my receipt and needed it to register the product later! I will defiantly be calling them again.
These guys were great: friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and very fair. We had a complicated maintenance problem that required them to make numerous trips, but they got it figured out and put back together quickly.
I will be using them for all future HVAC repair and routine service. Thank you!
Guys were nice enough on the phone, but I waited for two days in the freezing cold for them to fix our furnace, and they never showed. Another company came within a few hours. Worst was that I had to call to verify they weren't coming.
Caitlin H.Great service! I called on a Saturday morning about a backed-up drain and Gusky's guys were here in a matter of hours! In fact, they had estimated that they would get here between 2 and 5 and they got here almost an hour early. They fixed the drain quickly and for a more than $100 less than the other companies I called. Plus I used the Yelp deal and got an extra $30 off. I will definitely use them in the future.
I called and made an appointment for plumbing, and spoke to Jimmy personally. I was scheduled for a Wednesday, after hanging up, I realized I did not get the actual time of arrival. I called right back and there was no answer, so I left my name and telephone number on the voice mail, that was on Friday 17 January 2014. Now it's Wednesday 22 January 2014 the day of the scheduled appointment, NO call, NO SHOW!!! When I called the voice mail box was full. A couple seconds after I hung up it was Jimmy and he ""stating he did'nt have my phone and the truck broke down"". I called Jimmy because of his five star reviews. I just wonder if he's making up these reviews to drum up clients!!! Very disappointed!!!
