Jimmi just was at my home as I had a water heater that was overheating and leaking water all over my basement. Jimmy was at my home in just over an hour (so fast!) and did the appropriate tests to diagnose what was wrong with my water heater. In about 10 minutes, he went over why the heater was leaking water (my heater was overheating the water and the pressure valve was passing water out of the heater to stop it from bursting)... and he adjusted the settings to fix it. Although he mentioned that we will need a new water heater in the future, there was no pressure and he did what he could to keep the cost low for his visit to our home. We will definitely be reaching out to him for our future plumbing needs.

Don't even think about using him....
I used him because his price was lower out of a few others I called and when I searched him on the web it said he took care of our area. When he came, he said we had an electric heater (actually it is a power vent with an electric start) and it would be $400 more than the quoted gas water heater. We had our humidifier connected and I let him know this needed to be attached as well. He left parts around and outside and cracked tiles under the heater and never mentioned it, This was done right before Christmas. Then after it was installed a few days later our bathroom sink and kitchen sink stopped working and I did not think the humidifier was working well. We called to have him come out and was told he could come between 8-9, when he did not show after 9:20, I called and he said he was scheduled to come out from 9-11. I said Jenny set this up because we would not be there at that time and we have been waiting. So we canceled and said we would have to call back as it is almost Christmas and we cannot deal with this right now. We called him back after Christmas to get this fixed and then he said he was going to charge us because he said this was not his fault. So we decided not to have him come back. We were able to take apart the kitchen sink but not the bathroom one. Then I noticed as it got colder and we had the heat on, it was really dry in the house. I checked the humidifier and it was on from what I could see. I decided to google the humidifier because I could not see where it was attached to the new water heater. It showed a little copper wire which I found tucked behind the heating duct! They put it there and never hooked it up! When I called back to get this done and said they never did this on the install, he asked me if it was a saddle valve. Like I know what kind of valve it is! He described it which is what it was installed on the last heater, and he said these cannot be used anymore so he would have to charge me $125 to do this. I told him I was really disappointed in this whole process as I had a few other plumbers I could have used and chose you. He said I would have had to charge you this when I installed it. I said that would have been fine and it would have been connected, Instead you did not even tell me you did not hook it up and I called back to say I thought it was not working. You would have thought you would have remembered if you hooked up the humidifier! Then he said he could give it to me half price. NO THANK YOU! I do not need any other issues from this guy. I will go to someone else more qualified.
I hope I saved you from a future disaster...

Garbage business! Gave me an over the phone quote to fix a toilet. Set a time for Saturday morning (on a Wednesday) to have the plumber come out. Saturday morning no one showed up between the agreed upon time. Called and left 2 messages, never heard back, and no one ever showed. At least have the common courtesy to return a call or notify the customer you won't be coming out. Gave up my whole day for nothing. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!

Unfortunately, Jimmy doesn't even merit one star. He was recommended to me and I can't figure out why. He showed up at the house without the half hour call I was supposed to receive and seemed to know what he was doing. He gave me a quote of $670.00 for a new sump pump (which went up by $10.00 the next day). When he showed up, he barely said a word, installed the new sump within 20 minutes, left a mess behind and hours of us having to smell the glue he used to ""seal"" the cover to the sump. I began hearing loud noises when the sump shut off and called him back on Sunday and asked if he could fix that. He said he could install a quiet valve for $49.00. He was supposed to come back on Tuesday, but never showed or called me. I called him Wednesday morning and reminded him that he didn't show and he said he would be at my house Wednesday night and didn't show or call again. I called him again this morning and he never called me back. I finally found a guy that was recommended to me by my heating man, who I trust. The new plumber gave me an estimate over the phone and will be here tomorrow to help me out.

The first time we had them out, they installed a whole house filtration system and a disposal. We thought everything was fine, until the next time we had them out to look at our well pump. They said the filtration system was installed incorrectly (galvanized fittings to copper pipe) but they said they'd fix free of charge. They did...or so we thought.
A couple days later, we noticed a leak at the inlet to the filter, so I called them back to schedule a return visit. We scheduled four visits with them, none of which they showed up for. No call, no show. I called back and left a message on their voicemail saying if they had to reschedule that was fine, but we're going on 5 weeks now and no word back from them after multiple voicemails left to them.

Jimmy was previously working with the company name Fair Shake Plumbing. If you look this company up in BBB you will find an F rating because of all the unresolved complaints. We are going to be added to this list! On 12/20/12 Jimmy was supposed to come himself to install a sump pump with back up. He was not able to come, but sent two guys to do the work. On 7/9/2015 we noticed that our ejector pump was working way more than it used to and discovered tons of water pouring into the pit. Called Jimmy and he said he would send someone out to look at it. They were supposed to come between 1 and 3, but did not. I called the company and the secretary said that they are running an hour behind schedule. When they finish their job in Palatine, they will call me when they are on the way. At 6:20 I was getting ready to leave the house and they pulled into the driveway. (No phone call) They told me that my sump pit was full of water and that it was diverting to my ejector pit because the sump pumps were not working. I said Well it should be under warranty and Jimmy's guys are the one who put it in. They notified Jimmy and I had to leave for a meeting. I later got a call from Jimmy telling me that his company did not install those sump pumps. I said I remember talking to him about it and that he was supposed to come, but his wife had surgery, so he sent two guys instead. No, he claimed he did not do it and he only has one invoice for a rodding job on our sewer line. I said yes, we had that done also. The next morning I found the invoice for the installed sump pump. It is still within the 3 year warranty, so I do not understand why he hasnt called back. In the meantime, our ejector pump is working over time and we are afraid it will burn out. Plus it overflowed and damaged the carpet in the basement. Someone was supposed to come on 7/11/15, but no show. no returned calls and now it is 7/13 and we still cannot get anyone in the company to answer our phone calls.

Working with Jimmy the Plumber was by far one of the worst experiences we have had as home owners. The job took over three weeks to complete when it should have taken two days, tops. When they were finished they left a huge pile of dirt in our front yard. When I called to ask them about it, I was told ""it will settle with the rain""... There is no way four feet of dirt will settle with the rain - now we have to deal with that.
As part of the job they removed a bush in our front yard. We were never told this might happen, but would be called if they needed to remove, so were quite surprised when we came home and it was gone (in a pile on our front yard left for us to deal with). I understand if it needed to be removed, but a call or heads up would have been appreciated. After digging all of our pipes (toilet/bathtub/faucets) were running yellow/brown water. After calling with no response, my husband fixed the issue himself.
On multiple occasions they told us they were coming to the house, but were no call no shows. This is after my husband and I both took off work in order to meet them. Never an apology or even an excuse. We had to follow up with them daily to understand what was going on - they never took the initiative to contact us. When we were able to get a hold of them, we were just told what we wanted to hear, which was never actually the truth. In the end we ended up following up with the city on the final inspection because we did not trust that Jimmy the Plumber was actually doing anything.
We knew the job was going to go over estimate as they needed to dig deeper than was originally quoted. However, we could not get them to tell us how much more we owned until the final day there were there and needed payment. Completely unprofessional.
I would avoid working with these guys at all costs, it is not worth the stress and headache. RUN!!

Charged me $700 for ejector pump, it failed within a year, charged me $850 to replace. Was left with a loud bang when it shut off
Quoted me $300 to fix the flapper inside the toilet
Called to resolved issue, Does not return calls.
Finally got a hold of Jimmi himself said he would be at my house at 9 Wednesday but never showed up. Called the office 'Jimmi had an emergency customer he had to go to' I'm an emergency customer too. Don't you guys believe in communication??
Called a competitor who fixed the shut off valve that Jimmi's guys installed wrong and fixed the flapper for $175. His guys carry around a price book, asked how much to replace a hot water heater $2,500. The new plumber's cost was $1150 for a 40 gallon.
Read the reviews here and on Angie's list and decide for yourself . After no follow up calls and being blown off---YOU'RE FIRED Jimmi!
Do yourself a favor and subscribe to Angie's List.
I found a great plumber who had 500 reviews that were all graded an A. The tech was professional, polite and honest. Everything Jimmi's plumber is not . I'd like my $850 refunded to me please

It appears my experience is the same as another who wrote a similar review for this plumber, as I don't even have a chance to review his service because he never showed up. He gave me a time range in which he said he would arrive with a call 30 minutes before arrival. After I had not heard from him following that range, I called him to find out where he was. He let me know he was finishing another job, and would be coming to our ways shortly. While I understand some jobs take longer than expected, he was unapologetic and never let me know he would be later than the time he previously indicated. Even worse, he never showed up! No apology, no show, no nothing.

Terrible customer service and shoddy work.
It's great to find a plumber willing to come fix a water heater on Christmas Eve. Too bad he charged me $275 and it only worked for a week.
I called to ask if he'd give me a partial credit towards a new water heater (at this point it would be cheaper to get a new one) and his response was ""I gave no guarantee for how long it would work.""
I said, look, it seems reasonable to give me a bit of a deal given that whatever you did only lasted a week. Either I can give you the work or I can call someone else and write a bad review. Don't you want the work?
He started off on how the heater was working when he left so how much more did i expect. I simply gave up and called someone else. Ridiculous -- even if he'd cut $75 or $100 from the install price I would have been happy and gone with him. But he clearly doesn't care about his reputation let alone being a decent guy.
