Called Jim Shaw for a dripping leak above our kitchen ceiling. Daniel (his #1 plumber) came out and after 15 minutes and breaking through the wall quoted a price of $385 to repair the slow leaking copper pipe above the ceiling. It took him one hour to complete the job and the price was $380. (Only part... a piece of copper piping). Daniel then discovered there was a small leak in the toilet. I asked him if it was the flapper.. (The most common source of toilet leaks). He said he didn't know and he would either switch out ""everything"" or would pass on doing the job. Price quote (w/ a possible discount): $185. Time it took Daniel to replace out the parts in the toilet... 15 minutes. Okay... 1:15 minutes of work... $580 (including copper pipe and toilet bowl parts which I estimate had a total cost of no more than $75. Am I hiring a dentist or a plumber here? The positive... Jim and Daniel have always done excellent work (I've used them for over a decade), however, I will now be looking elsewhere as a they are too costly for me.
I've worked with Jim and Daniel for over 2 years now, across three properties, and they've become my go-to plumbers. They're knowledgeable, professional, and do top-notch work. Plus, their prices are super competitive and their communication is always seamless. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs - they're incredible!
From start to finish Shaw Plumbing and Daniel did an amazing job. They were so patient and answering all of my questions and went above and beyond the owner, Jim, was wonderful. I would highly recommend this business.

I was looking for a plumber on short notice for a simple shower valve tweak, since I wouldn't be able to use my shower until the water pressure was improved. Jim responded first and quoted me $125 for a service charge. That was a little higher than I sometimes pay, but I said fine. Jim sent Daniel, who was professional & quick, and did the job in 10 minutes. My only quibble is that I felt that as a first-time customer who had been referred by another customer, Jim might have considered only charging me $90 (the low-end of licensed plumber rates), or less for a 10-minute job. Other trades, including plumbers, have said, ""I can't charge you for that--it took 5 minutes,"" at which point I have given them $50 as a ""tip."" But I would use Jim Shaw Plumbing again, and so far recommend them.
Jimmy Shaw is the best. We had a leak under our kitchen sink I phoned Jimmy. Daniel was at our house 30 minutes later and did a fantastic job finding the problem with our garbage disposal unit and replacing it at a very reasonable price.
Daniel did a great job and left everything spotless. We are happy to recommend Jimmy Shaw for your plumbing needs.
Thank you Jimmy and Daniel!

Jim is a great guy. He's been in the business for a while. He has old-school values. I really appreciate his great customer service. One of his plumbers, Danny, Does Clean work. Had a simple fix and it could have turned out to be a big deal. Danny had a custom tool and was able to make the repair.

Workers are dispatched for repairs. When they arrive they cause water to leak from pipes then increase charges for repairs. The work is sloppy. The less expensive the problem and purpose for the call are never addressed. Be aware of the owner's deceptive business practices.
Brad M.We called Jim to help us with a corroded gas line that needed replacing. Jim was able to come out on short notice and give us a competitive quote on the repair. Since our gas had been shut off, Jim wasted no time in getting Danny and Jaidel to our house the very next day to fix the problem. They were phenomenal. They arrived on time, got right to work and knew exactly what they were doing. When a secondary issue with our gas line arose, they returned the next day and resolved the problem. My wife and I are thrilled to have finally found a plumber with the level of honesty, integrity and professionalism that Jim and his team possess.
I called Jim about a water heater and he took 10 min of his time to educate me and recommend someone else do the job. How refreshing to have someone spend the time, selflessly, to make sure you get exactly what you need, even though it won't give him the business. Hopefully this review does.
Siennan M.Jim has been our plumber for years. He's always fairly priced and gets the job done well. He's always been reliable & honest which is hard to come by these days. His team has been a pleasure to work with every time. Highly recommended!!
