I called 5 different plumbers to get an estimate to provide and install a Kohler toilet
The cost ranged from $600.00 TO $800.00 with the labor time of 11\2 to 2 hours.
Dhamer installed the toilet for $475.00 in 40 minutes. Terry was so courteous and professional I' m thinking of having him come back to install the sink.
The estimate to install a Kohler sink was $495.00.
I called All Suburban plumbing with an estimate of $445.00
I called the Dhamer manager and said I wanted to use his company and hoped he would match the cost. He was rude and said he would get back to me and of course
I never heard from him. The plumbers at Dhamer are professional and knowledgeable but the manager may have lost me as a customer.

On April 20, 2015, I signed up a contract for sewer repair at my property with Jim Dhamer Plumbing and Sewer Inc. The company agreed to repair the damaged and clogged sewer pipe. Accordingly, the work started on April 20th and continued till April 21st. On Apr 21st, after digging the outside yard the company fitted some new pvc pipe but showed their inability to continue. The repair was incomplete and faulty. The sewer pipe was still clogged.

I had to employ another contractor to complete remove the clog and complete the job The 2nd contractor had to re-dig everything and they found that the new pvc pipe was joined to a wrong pipe. The join was made to another damaged pipe which was ying on the bottom of the pit and not to the main sewer pipe.

I asked Jim Dhamer to refund me the amount of $ 3,200.00 which was paid under the contract to repair and compete the job. Jim Dhamer refused to refund. In spite of writing numerous emails and having phone conversations, the vice president (Mr. Tom) refused to own the faulty repair.

Subsequently i have filed a complaint with the Chicago BBB bureau and have asked a full refund of the amount paid to Jim Dhamer.

In a nutshell, I would rate Jim Dhamer, totally incapable of handling a sewer repair job, as it involves proper excavating tools/machines, and they lack the professional ethics of honoring their commitment to complete a job and to own a faulty repair.

Called Jim Dhamer Plumbing early 11/17/2014 due to a blocked sewer line. Steve and Tom arrived in a timely fashion, drained the pipes, removed the blockage, and diagnosed the problem as a broken sewer line approximately 4 to 5 inches beyond the outside of the foundation. Steve gave me a range quote to fix the broken pipe. Total time on site, less than 1 hour. At the time this occurred, I thought I had insurance that would cover any sewer line breaks beyond the foundation of my home.
After 2 trips by the insurance company's plumber to shoot video of the break, my claim was denied. This process took more than 2 weeks to complete. Even though this plumbing contractor gave me what appeared to be a low bid, I din't have any confidence in their ability to do the job Contacted Jim Dhamer Plumbing to fix the sewer line. A date of service was agreed upon, and again Steve and Tom arrived in a timely fashion. They made the decision to hand dig the hole to minimize damage to my lawn. Repairs were completed in approximately 8 hours, including time spent waiting for the Woodridge inspector, before the hole could be filled. All individuals that we dealt with were very cooperative, professional, and courteous. Other than a small mound of dirt that will settle into the hole, you would never know that a major sewer repair. The final repair cost came in at the low end of the range quote that wall originally given. Jim Dhamer Plumbing is an honest organization that can be trusted.

Our electrician referred us to Jim Dhamer Plumbing & Sewer to correct problems with an older home purchase. Since the house had been vacant for a couple of years it had a multitude of problems. The plumber and apprentice were professional, friendly and explained every issue as they worked. Very very impressive. Additionally, the price was very affordable. We will absolutely use their services again. We highly recommend this company.

The guys were friendly, explained exactly what they were doing, listened completely to the issues, and did their work quickly. On top of it, the price was excellent. I spent nearly all day yesterday rodding, disassembling, plunging and swearing. These guys knocked two significant issues out in an hour. I just wish I'd have called them yesterday morning!

We've used Jim Dhamer Plumbing & Sewer a few times for minor issues in our home over the last few years. They came highly recommended to us by our neighbors and we've never had a bad experience.

But recently came home from a vacation to a leaking valve and didn't even know what to do. Right from the initial call they were honest that they were very busy but luckily since we could be home they could fit us in while in the area.

Tom & John came over to just evaluate the situation but they immediately said it was an emergency. They got parts, waited for water company and took care of the whole situation right away. They also explained everything they were doing and why they were doing it!

We were obviously their last appointment of the day and just supposed to be an estimate. They waited for the water company and didn't end up leaving for at least 2-2.5 hours. We have young children and they didn't want to leave us without water for even a night.

We definitely recommend Jim Dhamer Plumbing!

Even though we had some issues the last time they came out to our house this company is 5 stars all the way. They are honest and fair with pricing, plus they get the work done as soon as possible. We recently purchased an older home and have had problem after problem with our plumbing. I will and have called Dhamer every time. When you call you won't be disappointed!!

This was my second experience with Dhamer Plumbing.

When I first bought my house and needed a plumber, the previous homeowners had used them for 20 years and recommended them, so I called them. They did a great job, so I saved their card. It's been 3 years, and I remembered them.

I got the appointment the same day I called. They gave me a 4 hour window, 10-2. The service person (forgot his name) called a few minutes after 10 and said they'd arrive in 10 minutes, which they did. I have white carpeting and they were careful to wear booties.

They said that my job would only take 15 minutes, and I was paying for an hour service call, so I quickly brought up some minor plumbing things, and as the parts for what I needed were not that expensive, I was able to get two toilets and a shower repaired today, for a reasonable price.

For me, they gave expert advice, came when they said, respected my house, and solved my problem.

Yesterday I saw a Jim Dhamer plumbing truck in my neighborhood and it made me flashback to 2003 whereby I was a young newlywed who just bought a house in Wheaton, had water in the basement, was referred to Jim by my father, so when Jim came to my house and asked for $300 up-front for parts, even though I knew better, he was recommended by my Dad so I gave him the money! That was the last I had ever seen or heard from Jim until yesterday and that's when I was so grateful that at least today there are online avenues to share your experiences!

I remember every time calling Jim asking him ""when are you coming?"" he would say ""maybe 5 days"" then ""maybe 3 more days"" then after a month I realized there was never going to be a date. I remember having that sinking feeling of embarrassment of ""knowing better"" and yet going against my better judgment with handing over that $300 and left being ""taken"" - so embarrassed I didn't want to tell my Dad, but many months later, I did! Though my father had given Jim many referrals, it didn't matter, that $300 was worth more than any ounce of integrity this man as the phone calls my father also made to Jim were to no avail.

Jim, if you are out there reading this, I'm the 27-yr-old you swindled who was in the midst of paying for my wedding, trying to start my American dream, paying off my college loan, living without a car in the suburbs (hard work walking everywhere), no computer, no cell phone, working 10 hour days with a 3 hr commute into the city, my $300 was earned, you took something from me more than money, you robbed me of a little progress I was trying to make in my life! My father WARNED me about people like you, he wouldn't have recommended you had he known. To me, you will always be a crook and while this review will never give me my money back it's my restitution of sorts, like my father taught me -forgive but don't forget!
