Took awhile to get it right. They installed a new hvac system for my house. Great job installing it. Very detail oriented.
Through no fault of Jewell Mechanical, the unit was defective and had an oil leak. The smell would then blow into the house when the ac kicked on. Took awhile to get them to finally replace the entire unit (2 months exactly). Another great installation job. New unit seems to be working well.
In the end, they got it right; it just took awhile to get there.
Technicians were very courteous, friendly, and always on time.

J K.I believe it's very important to give positive feedback when a great service is provided. One of my early on careers was in HVAC. So a few days ago I decided to do my own maintenance on one of my units at my office. I had no issues getting the unit apart and clean but then when it was time to reassemble let's just say I may of had a few Choice words for myself. I called Jewell & the very pleasant Nickie answered & got me on the books immediately. She notified me the tech would call when on his way. Hunter called letting me know he was on his way. Showed up on time he was very polite, professional, stayed on task & completed the job in a timely manner. Big shout out to the entire team at Jewell Mechanic.
Peter H.Our office HVAC system went down and we needed to get up and running quickly. Jewell was easy to schedule and have someone come out to see what was wrong on the same day. Unfortunately my unit was shot and we needed a new one. Brian was quick to help me work through the process of the quote and getting a new unit in. Fast forward a week for delivery of the unit and then they got it changed out in one day, which was no small feat having to get a crane to get it off the roof.
I would highly recommend using them for any project big or small. Their communication was flawless and they went above and beyond to make the process go easy.
Benjamin S.After several experiences with ""guys and a truck"" contractors through a previous warranty company when our compressor blew, my wife and I knew that we needed to get a reliable HVAC company to maintain our aging system to avoid additional long-wait repairs in the future. The warranty company took 8 weeks and multiple contractors to get the system fixed in the middle of the summer, suffice to say we changed our warranty company the following year.
Jewell Mechanical was one of the companies I looked at and the only one who did not seem deadset on selling us a new system over maintaining our existing one under one of their service agreements. With their help we got another 2.5 years out of our old system before it we were finally forced to replace it this month. Being in the middle of a pandemic we were lucky enough to still have our jobs, albeit with a tight budget.
Josh did all he could to respect our budget and provide a quality, modern, replacement system for us installed a week after our old system bit the dust (thankfully we still had emergency heat to get us through that last couple of weeks). His install team was extremely punctual and got straight to work upon arriving in the morning. By shortly after 3 in the afternoon, they had finished and started cleaning up leaving the house just as clean as they had found it. During the entire process, they were happy to answer any questions I had and explain everything we wanted to know about the new system.
After they left we (my wife, myself, and even our cat) noticed a huge difference in how effortless, and quiet, the new system was in keeping the house nice and warm. We also noticed a rattling sound that continued throughout the first weekend of use and promptly called Jewell Mechanical back the following business day. Josh came right back out and that day and found a few loose screws on the compressor from when it was assembled and after securing them the rattling was no more.
We've also used Jewell Mechanical to maintain our plumbing and water heater, and they are just as honest and upfront with us on the work they have done there as well. Finding a service provider that will put integrity and customer service in front of making a quick buck is a lot easier said than done, but we will definitely be staying with Jewell Mechanical for a long time to come, for not only maintaining our existing plumbing and HVAC but any upgrades and repairs in the future as well.
To fair, during previous maintenance visit their technician damaged the entry hole into/out of our attic while inspecting the air handler (it resides in the attic). After reaching out to Jewell Mechanical a 3rd party contractor was sent out to repair the damage a week later at no charge to me, and there is no trace the issue ever happened. It's a big deal to me that those I choose to take care of my home treat it as well if not better than they treat their own home.
Self assessed I might have a main line blockage aroundsmidnight and within 12 hours my problem has been fixed!! Brent came out first thing in the morning and was knowledgeable, informative, communicated clearly all my issues, had a great attitude and overall performed a very professional service! Expecting not to need further help, but would definitely use Jewel again!
First of all, I don't typically leave bad reviews on Yelp. But in this case, consumers be warned. If I could give this company zero or negative stars, I would.
I had a Aprilaire humidifier installed a couple years back and they installed it incorrectly, causing the living rooms floors to buckle and had to replace. Jewell was good about the insurance claim and their insurance paid for it. But, we were out of a living room for almost two months.
Two weeks ago, I called them to replace the humidifier filter. Easy job. The tech who came out messed it up and spilled water on the board, shorting out the unit. He came back to fix THAT a week and a half later. On Christmas morning, we woke to our house having no heat since he had done something to disable the brand new HVAC unit we had installed by Lee Co two months prior. (The second time he left us with no heat.)
Today was now the FIFTH visit by Jewell and thankfully the techs seemingly fixed everything that the other one broke. But, they left stains on our white wall, and a bent air return! Unbelievable. There is no way I could keep my cool about this as I typically do.
This company is a mess. Not only did they lose money by having their employees out here for so many hours, they caused an incredible amount of stress and frustration for both my family and I as well as their own employees. Nobody wins when this happens. And ,oh yeah, ruined Christmas morning.
Judy K.David from Jewell came out within about 2 hours from the time we called. Our HVAC had frozen up- and it's 92 degrees out... we had defrosted and got her running again, but we knew she needed a refrigerant recharge. David took care of the sealed system without hesitation, didn't try to add on charges and was gone within 1/2 hour. Watching the thermostat drop every 10 mins has been very satisfying. No extra charge for the weekend, super fast service, professional and friendly- and the price was amazing. This is our second experience with Jewell and we will ask for David M. by name next time
James J.Jewell Mechanical is the best. I was first introduced to them when my HVAC unit went out at my home a few years ago. They were awesome. Fast forward to now, I'm just as pleased with their plumbing services. Brandon, and Scott were both extremely professional and knowledgable. I felt at ease. All my questions were answered. I'm really pleased with Jewell Mechanical as a whole. They're professional, but have a nice small town charm to them. They do great, solid work. And they stand by their work. Even the people that answer the calls on the front end are pleasing to talk to. I will recommend Jewell Mechanical to anyone that needs HVAC or Plumbing work. You won't be disappointed. Now, if they happen to get an electrical department, I know who I'd call for all my house needs! Keep up the great work!!!
