Very positive recent experience with Manny and Manhattan Sewer Drain. I had an emergency plumbing situation very early in the morning. Manny took my call and was able to come onsite in a very short amount of time to resolve my issue. He was very friendly, professional and competent. I would use this service again in the future and would also recommend it to others.

Returned from vacation in the middle of the night after long flight delays and 23 hours of travel. Turned on kitchen sink and suddenly had a lake in my kitchen. This was at 1 a.m. between a Saturday and a Sunday.

Woke up Sunday morning and started calling plumbers with decent Yelp ratings. Manny and Manhattan Sewer Drain were second on the list. The first place, which I have used before and were fine, did not even answer the phone -- I got a voicemail greeting telling me to call back during business hours M-F. BUT I HAVE A NON-WORKING KITCHEN SINK!!!

Manny answered the phone at 7:45 a.m. and said he would come at noon. I did a happy dance and my husband reminded me not to count unhatched chickens. But Manny was true to his word and all went to plan -- I really appreciated the little technological touches that added to my confidence -- he texted and called first to ask for pictures of my under-sink area in order to make sure he had the proper parts for the repair; then I received automated emails letting me know when he was en route, as well as when he was arriving. He came right on time, assessed the situation, went out for parts, came back, fixed my rotted pipe, ran a water test and was on his way within about 45 minutes!

I should also mention that this was not just any Sunday, but a snowy one to boot with streets all slushy from an all-day Saturday snowstorm.

Manny was super nice, professional, did what he said and transformed my kitchen from a nightmare to its normal functional self in under an hour. That would have been amazing in my book even if it didn't all happen on a Sunday morning! I will definitely call Manny again when I have plumbing nightmares unfolding around me!

Final note -- for those who are railing about costs. I just don't know what to tell you except that this is NYC -- it is one of the most expensive cities on earth and it's expensive to run an on-call expert service business here too. I suppose plumbing may cost a little less in other towns but then you have to live in that other town. I notice this is a theme on veterinarian reviews too. It does stink to have to cough up a lot of dough unexpectedly but it doesn't mean someone is trying to fleece you. They have to cover their costs in order to keep their business afloat and be there for you when you need them! As for me, my repair cost in the neighborhood of $600 which was reasonable in my book for the service provided including the time and parts. I added a gratuity (cash and a gourmet chocolate bar) to express my thanks for the quick and professional service especially outside of normal business hours. I hope Manny stays in business for a long time to come!

This plumber is professional and knowledgeable; he came on time on the same day, and he fixed the broken pipe swiftly and accurately. What a relief! I knew he was a great professional when he asked me to text him a photo of the broken pipe: it was clear that he would be well prepared for the job, and was certain to have the materials and time required to fix the problem. I am so happy to have my sink back so swiftly!

The other reviews were right. Manny arrived right on time, was professional, courteous, and, most importantly, fixed a complex drain problem that we weren't able to resolve ourselves. He even cleaned up our bathroom afterwards. One other thing I appreciated is that, instead of charging me extra for another simple issue I asked a question about, he said we could easily and cheaply just get a replacement part for it at Home Depot.

Absolutely brilliant service by Manny! I highly recommend hiring MSD. manny sorted out my issue quickly. He is focused, considerate, a straight-shooter, positive, really solves issues without stress. Like all other reviews, Manny is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and prepared.
From sending an image of the issue, Manny knew exactly what tools to bring, and had the foresight to know that I needed an additional 2 pipes replaced. He even went as far as to alert me of a possible issue that will need the building's attention. I'm so thankful to have had this first experience with such an outstanding plumber and will always turn to Manny for any future needs.

I actually stumbled upon Manny and his company on Yelp. As a building owner, my ""regular"" guys were busy and I had no choice but to call the major commercial companies, AKA Roto Rooter... Dealing with them was a nightmare... Called their # and was transferred to a nationwide operator. They told me someone would call me back.. Which they never did.

I was looking for someone local in the area to do the job. And BAMN Manhattan Sewer Drain popped up on Yelp. Browsing his credentials and reviews, Manny's company seemed promising. I immediately called him and he picked up right away. I told him that I had an emergency with the sewer backing up and my commercial tenants were getting increasingly frustrated.. Told Manny about the issue, he told me that we would be there within 2 hours and would call me as soon as he leaves his current job!

In an hours time, he called me up with a update. Told me that he was on his way! He showed up on time and I was getting email updates throughout the entire process. Never had a used a company so professional and honest!

Needless to say, Manny was the man of his words. Lived up to his promise. After the week's freak rainstorm, the entire NYC sewer system was backed up. My tenants were complaining about sewer backup again and I had to call Manny to schedule another service.

He showed up ON TIME and as usual, called and emailed ahead of time with his update and current location. He did what he had to do. Honest the entire time!

If you ever need a sewer line cleaned, Manny is the guy to call!

I called Manny Wednesday night around 8PM and he got back to me right away with the best price of all the plumbers I spoke to. He was very responsive and informative. He was upfront and direct with what needed to be fixed and his price was unbeatable!

Even thought I didn't end up using Manny's service due to timing issues, (I needed a plumber asap but he couldn't get to me until 11AM the next morning) I would still recommend him!

Manny is totally professional, provides A1 service and really fair pricing. Totally trustworthy and pleasure to call and refer to friends and colleagues alike Manny went way out of his normal schedule to assist receiving my call on Friday nite and being here on Saturday morning. Manny lived up to his reputation. He came promptly and assessed the situation without beating about the bush. He was honest enough to say that I don't need any work done at this time as the ejector pump is working fine.
Wow - what a relief to find such an honest plumber!
