John F.I called one evening and got the answering machine. They called me early AM and were out that afternoon. Did quality work and did it quickly. The tech, Anthony, was as courteous as can be and was just a nice, young, decent fellow. As long as Anthony is employed Jenkins will be my go to!
We have used the services of Jenkins Plumbing for the past fifty years. I agree, they are not the cheapest but I would bet they are among the best, if not the best. And they certainly know the ins and outs of our home!
These guys are not cheap, but they really know what they are doing and take the time and effort to do a really good job. They are one of the few places around that can still diagnose problems and maintain our old oil furnace, and we are glad to have them still around.
Michelle R.Best service ever, on time, really care about their customers. Inspected service before they left. Came out so quick . We're honest, friendly bs caring. I actually enjoyed doing business with them. I will use them for all my service.
Beware of the quote from this business !! They charge $120 to come out and give you a quote which is deducted from the final bill.
The written quote is where you have to watch.
There was water coming up from a leak in my front yard and the water company checked my meter which was spinning at an astronomical rate. This determined the leak was from a buried line from the street to my house.
I live in a 55 plus community and the manager came out and referred me to Jenkins Plumbing.
On 02/27/2019 a young man came out and gave me a written quote of $185/hr plus material for the job. To verify this rate I calculated if the job was to take 8 hours then the cost would be 8 times $185 plus materials which would be around $1600 which he confirmed this.
I approved of this repair and work was to start the next morning at 08:00 AM.
He shut the water off in order to dry the area out and left.
The next day they arrived at 11:00 AM and started to dig.
By 12:30 PM they had discovered the source of the leak and took a lunch break. They returned to work and by 3 PM had finished the job and left.
This was 3.5 hours on the job at $185/hr should be around $650 plus material should be no more than $800 total. So I thought.
On 03/04/2019 I called and asked what the total bill was so I could pay it.
I was floored when I was told it was $1675. Three times the quoted cost.
I asked for an itemized bill so I could understand this extreme cost. I was told they do not give itemized bills.
This struck me as highly unusual as any accredited company will give complete break down of costs.
I asked for the owner to call me back and on 03/12/2019 he finally did.
We discussed this high cost and he told me that the $185/hr cost was for man hours. So now if he put three men on the job it would be $555/hr.
This was not what I was led to believe on the original written quote which was $185/hr plus materials.
I thought I was misled on the original quote and told him that we could settle this in court.
Mr. Jenkins was very upset and told me he did not want to go to court and that I should send him what ever I thought was a proper amount to pay the bill.
The job was done in a professional manner and timely and I settled at $1000 plus the $120 for the estimate for a total of $1120.
Beware of what you are told and what you are charged.
Sean C.I can't speak on their quality of work because it didn't even make it that far. I spoke to a representative on the phone and told them the exact problem. She said there would be an 85$ diagnostic fee and because of the travel. 1. I'm only 3 miles away. 2. Why would you need to diagnose anything when I just told you the problem? The next company I called was able to give me an estimate and DOES NOT charge a diagnostic fee. They may do great work, but just be prepared to be charged this mysterious $85 dollar fee just for them to look at your problem.
Had a unit AC installed 6/12/18 by Jenkins Plumbing & Heating They are Bryant representatives and when I asked about rebates for energy star I was told none available for the unit I received. I was told that when I signed the contract. The day the installation Jeff Jenkins came by to see
his installers and said he would contact us after the job was complete. Online when I looked at the Bryant website I saw that they had rebates and I was going to ask Jeff about these Instead I just got a final bill in the mail today even before the inspections that will be done in two days. I had an estimate and to that was going to be added the permit cost. My bill has a $170 charge. When I called the Galloway Township office I was told that the charge was $145. This is a $25 not a lot for bill that was $3,600 but with no rebate that was to be between $300 and $500 I am disappointed. the installer used my private bath in my bedroom instead of the guest powder room and did not even ask. That was Rude !
No Star Rating... big zero
Buyer Beware - I was out of town and my brother noticed my heater was not staying on. He called Jenkins, I knew the problem was an dirty filter with the way the unit
was acting. Jenkins came out was there 45 minutes and charged $426.00 to clean
the filter. No parts were needed it was just to clean the filter.
WOW that was outrageous.! Think before you contact this company. They are a
RIP OFF COMPANY.
