I hire JEI to do a number of jobs around a property I was going to rent. Admittedly, it was a lot of work and they did a decent job (hence the 2 stars), but their communication and estimation are terrible.

For one, I had to continuously ask what the status was (It was property I was fixing up, I wasn't there) versus them volunteering the information. They said they would come out on days and never showed. I never knew how many hours they had worked or how many hours they needed. I had to continuously ask and ask for that information when they should have been sending out updates.

Additionally, no upfront quote or estimation was given so I had no idea how long they would take and thus no idea how much they would charge and when we got our final bill it was much more than I was anticipating. Also, thinks kept taking 'longer than expected'. Admittedly, I should have known better, but this was a learning experience for me, always ask for a quote up front.

TL:DR - overcharged and I had no idea it was coming, no quote, no estimation. Go with a company that will give you a bid / quote for larger jobs. Don't go with this hourly company.
