I was disappointed to learn that they were not interested in servicing my AC. They indicated they were not taking new customers. Why advertise?

Throughout the process of a 2-year total gut job restoration of a 19th historic church; Jeff Lowe and his team were my sole saving grace. Meticulous, steady, reliable, conscientious, impressively skilled and kind technicians painstakingly rebuilt the building's entire plumbing and heating systems (including the install of a generator.) Furthermore, Jeff Lowe's team (including but not limited to Rob Reed, Jon, John, Mike, and Matthew) were entirely respectful to me as a woman overseeing this daunting project. They were the absolute exception to the rule on all fronts. Adjusting patiently to each real-time pivot as the job progressed, Jeff Lowe's team successfully ushered the 150-year-old Sacred Heart Church across a seemingly impossible finish line: certificate of occupancy and up to code after decades of total neglect. Leaking oil tanks (massive and which Governor Cuomo remarked ""you have to get those out of here"") and an archaic defunct furnace were removed. Jeff Lowe's steady experienced team going above and beyond the call of duty again and again. A truly impressive roster thoughtfully converted the oil-burning system to propane (complete with assisting in selecting a sound propane provider and excavation crew to bury the tank) and replaced baseboard heating with sleek cast iron. Coping with a sewage leak and subpar water pressure (among a myriad of other issues), Matthew up to his chest in the foundation whistled his way to the installation of 18c french tiles, eco Toto toilet, and Callista fixtures. At many points, Jeff and his team provided wisdom, and guidance extending beyond any paperwork. The end result is entirely spectacular, functional, and gorgeous. The contractural fairness and integrity demonstrated by Jeff Lowe remain unmatched, and I cannot honestly find the words the adequately praise the work his team accomplished. If any small issues arose, including faulty work by non-Lowe employees- his team was there deftly solving and correcting. The project quite frankly would not have been possible without Jeff Lowe Plumbing and Heating, a rare example of how a five-star business should be run. I wholeheartedly recommend this company. They knocked it out of the park. The old adage ""deeds, not words"" applies to this astonishingly fine company. Flawless.

After getting a run-around and an outrageous estimate from the plumbing company I have been using for years, Lowe came out and did the job without problem and in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Matt was a pleasure to deal with. He arrived at our appointment exactly on time, showed me, and explained to me everything he was doing, and cleaned up the site when he was finished.

Lowe has been serving my boiler for the 15 years that I've owned my home. They installed my hot water heater - in an emergency - because the old one burst. They have always been 100% reliable! They've always shown up when scheduled and the one time they missed something - they showed back up - and fixed the issue without additional charge.

The technicians have explained things when we've asked - and shown us things we didn't/wouldn't know.

Tip: If it's not an emergency - book well in advance - there is a wait.

We ran into a problem on a Saturday and tried reaching our regular plumber but could not. We called a number of places, and Lowe was the most responsive. They sent a plumber, who arrived fairly quickly, diagnosed the problem and gave us a quote. The plumber was extremely polite and thorough. The price for coming out and diagnosing the problem was fair.

The reason this is four stars instead of five is because the quote was unreasonably high. I did check around, and Lowe has a reputation for doing good work, so I have no hesitation about that, but I could not justify his price.

Lowe's reply to my original post is almost as outrageous as their behavior. ""Emergency service""? Lowe didn't show up for 3 DAYS AND they didn't do any plumbing! The worst part is my Grandpa, Joe Woods, was the superintendent of the Kingston water dept until he retired in 1988. When he was dying he made a list of contractors for his wife Rosie. If she needed a plumber, call this guy... They ram-rodded Joe's WIDOW- MY grandmother with a scam-senior-citizen's discount the first chance they got. If they'll do that to the DPW's Superindendent's widow...What are they gonna do to you? They appear to be amoral dishonest people, not only by my claims, but in their own words- justifying ""emergency service costs"" when it took them 3 days to show up.

I am a former employee of Jeff's and a current competitor. It pains me to see him having to defend his company and business practices here.
I can assure you that Lowe is not overcharging. The rest of us are undercharging and struggling for it, some more than others. This is an expensive business to be in. Forget that a part cost $10, look at the big picture. Payroll, vehicles, advertising, building, uniforms, and on and on. Then when you have invested tens of thousands in inventory that $10 part that's there when you need it had better show a return on the investment.
Jeff is fair and honest and everyone who works for him is paid a livable wage. Every environmental law gets followed, every safety rule met, every i dotted and every t crossed.
I have heard people call Jeff a crook or a thief. But Jeff does what he says he's going to do at the price (and he's not the most expensive either) you agreed to. That's not crooked. There are real crooks out there at half the price. If you want a nightmare, shop for the lowest price. I've corrected an awful lot of workmanship, but I've never had to correct anything done by Lowe Plumbing. That's the real bottom line.

I recently had to contact Lowe Plumbing for a clogged drain. I was very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the technician. I only deal with them with my plumbing issues as the job is done in a very reasonable time, and there is never a mess to clean up. The cost may be a bit higher than others, but you definitely get what you pay for! I highly recommend them to anyone needing any of their services. Kudos to all their employees for doing a great job!

I am so grateful to Lowe for their incredible customer service and talents. Our thermostat for our propane heating system was not working properly. When it was below freezing, it said it was 80 degrees. When there was a fire in the woodstove, then it would decide to kick on. I knew we had to replace it, but was nervous because we have a very old house and electrical system. Lowe was able to come to our home the same day we called for help. They contacted us periodically during the day to let us know their ETA. Nate arrived and was as sweet as can be. He tolerated our barking dogs, our myriad of questions about the new system, and he installed it with ease, confidence and speed. We now have heat that works! I am so grateful to Nate and the Lowe team. We will certainly be using them for all of our HVAC needs.
