Gambino plumbing is great from the old retired guy Tony to his son Jeff who is now in charge. Jeff has been out a couple of times to fix leaks. On time, reasonable and professional. Jeff also installed our new kitchen and bathroom sinks. Beautiful work.

Jeff installed a new water heater a few years ago. No problems ever since then. He had to construct a new platform and of course tied it down for earthquake protection.

I used Jeff's services again to fix a bathtub drain problem that another ""handyman"" tried to fix for several months. Ouch!. Jeff came in, fixed it no more problems.

We plan on asking Jeff to do some more work soon.

Have used Jeff on three occasions. A tub drain installation that was done quickly and professionally, and is still intact 13 years later. The second was a fitting on my side of the water meter blew out in the wee hours of the morning. I was able to turn off the water and gave him a call as soon as normal business hours started. He made sure to get over to my place quickly and was able to repair the fitting and with a good quality metal piece rather than the plastic piece the water company used at installation. No mention of emergency callout rates (which would have been completely legitimate since we had no water in the house). The third time I called him out was to replace the water main to the house. He was helpful and worked through the options with me and completed the installation quickly and in a professional manner. The installation of the pressure regulator and fittings that are visible at the front of the house are much more visually pleasing than some of the piping I've seen on the front of some houses. No complaints. He's handled everything I've needed in a professional manner with good craftsmanship at a fair price.

If this review were about the most recent experience it would be a 1 star for sure!

I have had 2 experiences with Mr. Gambino. The 1st was good the 2nd NOT so much.

The 1st - my downstairs bathroom sink would turn on when the upstairs shower was used. I thought there was an issue with the pipes/pressure. Mr. Gambino came out and quickly diagnosed the problem... The sink fixture needed to be replaced. I asked what was his price for the service call & he said no charge. I thought that was very upstanding of him since he was here for about 5 minutes.

A friend who is a general contractor offered to install the new fixture at no cost... But I knew that the next plumbing issue that came up I would call Mr. Gambino.

Our upstairs shower temperature regulator went haywire and was stuck in the scalding hot mode... AHA I thought I can ""repay"" Mr. Gambino for being such an upstanding guy and give him some work.

He came to diagnose & determined what needed to be done.

HERE IS WHERE IT GOES SOUTH.... I jokingly ask Mr. Gambino ""Does anyone ever give you grief about your last name?""

Mr. Gambino glared at me and walked out!

My initial thought was he was joking and giving me a sinister look. He walked out .... I thought get something from his truck... Perhaps a tool or a part.....HE NEVER RETURNED.

After a few hours I left a message on his voice mail & followed up with an email to see what was up.

THREE DAYS LATER I RECEIVED THIS RESPONSE from what I assume was his wife:

""Jeff was not impressed nor humoured with your comments about his name. He had no words, and left. The joy of having your own business is being able to chose customers.
Thank you!!"" WOW really!!!

In my opinion Mr. Gambino could have handled this one of 2 ways:

1. The Straight Man- ""No they don't"" and handled the business at hand OR
2- With a A Little Humor (my personal preference) - ""Not unless they want to sleep with fish""Ha Ha Ha... and handled the business at hand.

EITHER way would have been a better alternative than the sophomoric and unprofessional treatment received by the Gambino's.

I found a WONDERFUL and PROFESSIONAL plumber named CHRIS VILLA-LOVOS to take care of my plumbing problem.

The joy of being a customer is you can choose to do business with companies/people who treat you well!

I prefer professionals and if they have a sense of humor even better!
