BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS! They made the mistake of going to the wrong house and painting someone else's hand rail and before they would reschedule.,I had to reimburse them for the paint for painting someone else's railing plus for my job! I was stunned! They admitted the error but I had to pay for it! I told them no way!! I wish I could give them a negative star.

I contacted Jeeves Handyman Services to have some recessed lighting installed in my kitchen and a tv wired and mounted in the guestroom. The representative who set up the appointment said that wouldn't be a problem and that I will be set up with one of their best contractors. When the contractor showed up, he appeared to be a bit disheveled and whore shoes that were covered in dirt. I politely asked him to remove his shoes. He told me that he could not remove his shoes for insurance purposes and that if anything happened to his feet then he wouldn't be covered. I asked if he was joking. He said that he could get in trouble if he took his shoes off. At that point I was like whatever because I wanted the job to get started. When I took him into the kitchen to show where I wanted the lights to go, he immediately shook his head and stated that he does not do recessed lighting. I asked him if Jeeves explained what I wanted done. He said they told him something about recessed lighting. I said exactly so why are you here? He said he does not do recessed lighting and that I would have to call Jeeves and reschedule for someone who does. I told him that this was a complete waste of my time and asked him to leave my home. I never got a phone call from Jeeves apologizing for the misunderstanding or to even reschedule. I would never recommend Jeeves Handyman Services to anyone. STAY AWAY!!!

I hired Jeeves to send out a handyman to do a simple job. It was to caulk and grout 1.5 small bathrooms (in a town house) and fix an exercise bike (1 bolt missing). They charge $99 an hour and have a $15 coupon. Jimmy was the handyman. He works extremely slow at $99 an hour and does shabby work! He missed several areas he was supposed to caulk and left gaps in caulk near shower area. Then, he had a simple task to go to Home Depot to buy 2 different items (backings for 4 toilets and was supposed to get 1 bolt). He was gone over 40 minutes (maybe he got lunch), he came back with only 1 of the items. I'm paying for his travel time ($99 an hour). He forgot the bolt he had to pick up. As of 9/21, that was not fixed. I was overcharged by 30 minutes. When I complained to the owner, Mark, by phone and emails and asked the Owner to come out and inspect Jimmy's work personally, he sent Jimmy out again 9/21/17 at 8:30 AM (after I asked Mark to send a more experience tech out or come himself to inspect the work; I asked him NOT to send Jimmy!). So, Jimmy shows up today at 8:30 am, takes a paper towel, asks to use my dust pan and throw it away in my trash (which was okay), and cleans up the mess in 1 of the bathrooms (small Powder Room). He thinks that is okay. I told him he missed several areas. I guess he was not happy about that. Jimmy refused to make it right. He was here less than 20 minutes and did not clean up the caulk he did sloppily. I have contacted the owner, Mark, to get this taken care of (asked him to send out a more professional, experienced tech who can caulk, grout well) before I pursue filing a complaint to the Better Business, Bureau, Attorney General and very possibly taking them to Small Claims Court. This handyman was slow, disrespectful and does low level workmanship. Perhaps, he is better at other handyman work. He should take additional training on how to caulk, grout bathrooms and other areas. It is not Rocket Science!

The service was terrible. The man who came to do the work was named Doug. I hired him to change a thermostat and some bathroom faucets. I pre bought the materials. He looked at the thermostat and said I bought the wrong kind, so we went to Home Depot to buy the right one. He chose one for me to buy. When we got back to the house he said the thermostat was still not the right one, even though he chose it. Bottom line he never changed the thermostat. That was a waste of 45 minutes which I was charged for. I called Honeywell the maker of the thermostat after he left. It turns out the original thermostat I had purchased was compatible with my furnace;.
Concerning the faucet, I discovered after he left he had only did half the work. He had installed the faucet. but he was too lazy to change the part connected drain stopper. In additon he never cleaned up afterwards he left used part around the bathroom. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!! I SHOULD HAVE PAYED ATTENTION TO OTHER REVIEWS ON YELP.!!!!

Id give no stars if I could. I scheduled an estimate and a nice guy came out on time. Too bad he barely spoke any english. Trying to relay what I wanted and figure out what he was saying was tragic. Three weeks later, 2 calls and a couple of emails and Ive yet to receive my estimate. After reading these other reviews im glad they never got back to me.

I'd give them zero stars if I could.

It went badly from the start. The assigned handyman showed up on time...but alone. When I indicated to him I'd scheduled two men for the job and that the new AC unit weighed 139lbs he said it was no problem. From the start it was like he wasn't paying attention.

First he tried to lift the sash on the window without removing the L-bracket that keeps it from being lifted and allowing access to my house.

He then tried to just pull the AC unit out of the window opening by tilting it toward him, which would have snapped the bottom of the vinyl window frame. When I explained the unit would need to be lifted out and would require two people he went and got a helper.

Next they tried to install the manufactured support shelf, which I had assembled in the 40 minutes it took for him to come back with the helper, upside down. When I gave them the directions for installation they then tried to pitch the outside portion of the AC unit in excess of 30 degrees, which would have basically had the blower pointing right at the ceiling.

Then instead of reading the installation directions, which recommend removing the AC guts from the metal housing and installing the housing they simply manhandled the whole thing into the window.

Finally, they wanted to install it so the entire weight of the AC unit was being held in place by the small strip on the upper sash used to ""lock"" the window when it's closed instead of distributing the weight across the entire window frame. I literally had to take the guy upstairs and show him how the unit in our bedroom is installed. At which point he told me ""all windows are different.""

When it was time to write up the bill the initial handyman indicated to me that he had to pay the helper, not the company, which leads me to believe this ""company"" is just a network of freelancers.

To add insult to injury, he took all the screws and a couple of specialty parts from the installation kit with him. When I read the instructions later and called the company about this he told the customer service rep he took no parts. I provided photographic evidence of what he left me, which was three screws, the braces that came with the a/c unit, and the insulating side panels, not enough to redo the installation, which we're going to have to do ourselves.

I ended up having to order a replacement installation kit to the tune of $72 and put a stop payment on the check because the customer service rep kept insisting the lead handyman said he took no parts with him when I flat out saw him throw all the screws in his tool bag.

The only bright spot, I was enough of a pain that I got them to agree to accept reduced payment to cover the cost of the replacement installation kit.

Bottom line: If I hadn't been on them every single second it would have been installed incorrectly and would have damaged not only the unit but also my house.

If there was a way to express the feeling of disgust other than a negative review on the internet, I would surely do it, however, it seems that reviews on Google, Yelp, Home Advisor and Angie's List will have to suffice. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT do business with these characters.
My partner called Jeeves Handyman Services to handle several items that needed to be completed no later than today. The task list included: a TV mounted, a door knob switched and most importantly, the faucet changed--the primary reason for calling. Upon arriving home, and looking at her face, I knew something was wrong.

Apparently, this handyman wasn't handy at anything! We purchased a complete faucet set with all of the fixtures needed to install it from Lowes. It also includes some minor instructions. She was informed that the kit didn't have all the correct pieces. He then went to handle the door knob which, would have been perfect, but he hands my partner one key, as if it doesn't include two. Where is the other key, Mr. Handyman? She is informed that ""he has a very reputable past. He didn't take the key"". Right, hence why you have a one star rating.

Understand that this is from an observation point of view from my partner. Factual speaking, the only thing that was accomplished by this ""handy-man"" was an installed door knob and lock. And I would love to know where the key went?! No, the TV's weren't mounted. No, the faucet wasn't installed. She went to Lowes to ask them about the pieces and they confirmed that everything he needed was IN THE KIT! But yes, my partner paid him for the time he put in for that doorknob. She paid him over $100 and refuses to tell me the actual amount in embarrassment and the unhinging feeling I have to call the corporate office (if there is one) and the Better Business Bureau. Then find Mr. Handyman and ask for her cash back!

My partner is 100% non-confrontational and you played on that and took her money and ran. But understand, if I were here, Mr. ""Handyman"" you would not have received one-red-cent. Truthfully, speaking I probably could have Youtubed this stuff and figured it out. But I work 11-hour shifts and she fights for this country, just to give away our hard-earned cash on a bozo like you.

Terrible service. We hired them twice. The first time was ok, but the handyman used the entire 2 hour block on one job. The second time, long story short, the ""Handyman"" ended up messing up the job so bad that we had to call in a legitimate plumbing service AND a heating and cooling company to fix what he broke.

I called for a free estimate and was transferred to a nextremely rude man telling me that I have to pay $35 for an estimate!! But Their add shows Free estimates. Deceitful and extremely rude. I wouldnt deal with this kind of business ever. And I think Yelp should negative stars from -1 to -5. And i would have definitely give this business a -5!

I should have read reviews before I scheduled an appointment. Scheduled a repair for the fascia board on the side of my house . Received an email my appointment was 2:30pm with a window of 2-4pm. 4:30pm, no show. I call, dispatcher puts me on hold, after a few minutes comes back and says they're on there way from Darnestown. I'm in Germantown can't take more than 30 minutes. 70 minutes later, no call / no show. I call again, the dispatcher puts me on hold and after a minute says he can't contact them he'll call me back. 10 minutes later I get a call from the worker saying he's in Rockville can we reschedule. I understand jobs may take longer than expected but a phone call and a little honesty would have gone a long way. I will not attempt to use this service again.
