I recently used Jeeves Handyman Services in Virginia and I was very pleased with them from first contact through completion of the job. The price was reasonable for the services performed. The initial call was answered promptly and courteously by a knowledgeable person who booked the appointment. I received an email confirming the appointment. The handyman arrived on time with tools. He was experienced and knowledgeable about the work to be performed. He was very friendly. I was pleased with the results. Jeeves gives you 48 hours to let them know if you have any problems with the work. I recommend Jeeves in Virginia.

Do not under any desperate circumstances do you lower yourself to Jeeves. There are ""many"" more reputable and professional ""handyman"" services. This handyman service company doesn't provide qualified contractors that are professional nor reliable. The company overall lacks substance or ethical responsibility to its customers that receive poor service - poor quality - poor workmanship - and accountability for overall workmanship as well as warranty for all above noted. Bottom line is to provide whoever is available. Subtractor (3 rd person identified) was horrible, lack qualifications, tried intimidation methods to get paid for 1 hr (unfinished & horrible work) effort that was estimated as - 4-hr job. He actually locked to bathroom door to prevent owner to check on work as well as got aggressive when informed that he did not remove old grout to install new grout on bathroom shower walls. Owner had to request him to exit home multiple times which was very scary! Do not use this company for any work ... you are better off to pay more to get professional & quality work.

If I could've put 0 stars I would. This is the lowest quality ever. I just needed to install 2 doors, while they installed the doors, it literally took them 3 days instead of 1.5 day as promised. I found so many things for them to get fixed after they have asked me to accept the job.

Will never hire the company again. The value for the job is not worth the money.

Atrocious! I wish I had seen their horrible YELP reviews. Merely needed wax ring toilet replacements and after a hour of aimless wandering he said he was too scared to do the job. Afraid of water leakage, afraid he didn't have parts, just afraid. So livid they said they could do the job only to waste entire day waiting and he leaves it worse than he found it. Now must find reliable worker. And get some shoe covers!

They gave me a 10am - 1 pm window for scheduled service and called me after 3 pm to say they were an hour away. Needless to say, I canceled that appointment!

We utilized Jeeves Handyman two weeks ago and while we were pleased with the work done and their timely response to our request, we have some issues with their billing practices. We had water leak through an upstairs window which required replacement of some wood trim. The technicians went the Home Depot to get supplies came back to finish the job. The invoice for the work included $130 for ""supplies"" including wood, paint, nails and caulk. The technicians never asked if we had paint before they left for Home Depot. Because it was raining and we were rushed we didn't raise any issue. When they came back the next morning, they used our paint which we left on the front porch.

We subsequently called Jeeves to complain that $130 seemed excessive for what was involved and particularly when they used our paint. In the end they agreed to reduce the bill by $45 to reflect the paint which was returned. Jeeves claimed that the technicians no longer had the receipts for the other supplies purchased. We chose to accept their offer since it wasn't worth the fight ($90 for wood caulk and nails still seems pretty high) but if this is Jeeves SOP, then their business model leaves something to be desired. Apparently the technicians pay for the supplies out of their own pocket and, presumably, are reimbursed by Jeeves. Does Jeeves actually reimburse the techs for supplies they bought without receipts????

Lastly, Jeeves operates based on a two hour minimum. This job took less than that but the technicians left without asking if there was other work we needed done.

To sum up, I'd consider using them again but I will be much more careful about having a clear understanding upfront about how the cost of materials will be addressed.

I called to have a plumber come to switch out a sink, and to change 2 shower heads.
The two men that came left holes in my wall...?ripped out the old sink and left a huge patch that had to be repaired!!! They then left all the trash & the pieces of the old sink in the kitchen! They cleaned nothing & ended up costing me more in wall repairs than the actual sink & shower heads. At the end... after 4.5 hours of very poor work, they said oh well, ""we have two more jobs to go to.... AND THEY LEFT!!!
NEVER AGAIN! I should have checked their yelp reviews!!!

I am incredibly disappointed with Jeeves Handyman Services.
I hired them to replace a screen door. The handyman wasn't knowledgeable in replacing screen doors. I just wish he had told me so. Labor took over 3 hours because the handyman couldn't properly install. I ended up paying triple what I should have paid due the the time it took. Handyman then told me there was a problem with the installation and that I would just have to ""wiggle"" the screen door to get it to work.
The screen came off the tracks several times and is unusable. Money wasted. I called the owner, Mark Grodecki, and he agreed to send me a check for one hour labor but my check never arrived.
I would caution you before using this company. The owner became very unprofessional and rude after I asked for a partial refund. I reached out when the check didn't arrive and his response was ,""I'm not in charge of the US mail system.""
Please, please, save yourself the time and go with someone else.

My husband fell down the stairs and broke one of the baulsters out of the banister. My neighborhood handyman was out of town and I wanted to get it fixed immediately because I have a curious toddler in the house. I found Jeeves Handyman Services from a google search. They charge $120/hr (which I thought was excessive) but I was deperate to get it done as soon as possible and they were the ones that could come the fastest.

There's a Lowe's less than a mile from me and I already looked on the website and knew they had baulsters like mine for $5.97. The handyman came and said he could glue it back together, sand it down and repaint it if he couldn't find a baulster like mine. I told him about Lowe's but he said he was going to Home Depot. There's one close but not as close as the Lowe's. I assumed he must get discounts at Home Depot. He left and came back 25-30 min later with some supplies (the new baulster,glue and primer paint).

He finished in about 45 minutes but charged me for 2 hours because he said that's the company policy. In all he charged $297.33 for the labor and supplies. He did a good job but I definitely felt over charged. $300 to replace 1 baulster!

I paid by check since they charge a service fee if you pay by credit card. Here we are 3 weeks later and they still have not deposited the check. Then last night my bank alerted me that someone was trying to link my checking account to an outside account to transfer money. I immediately thought about Jeeves since my routing and account numbers are on the check. I contacted the company asking why they are holding on to my check and the office manager emailed me back saying sorry for the delay and that she JUST got it in office and will deposit it today or tomorrow.

While the job was done well I will never use this company again. They charge entirely too much and they are careless with your payments.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Would give no stars if I could. Do not use their service! Hired this company to do two simple repairs - toilet and shower valve replacements - on a 2nd floor bathroom. After leaving water started leaking through the ceiling to the 1st floor of my home. After working with them to fix the issue I was told I would be fully refunded for the original problem, have the original problem properly fixed, and have the ceiling repaired to its original state. None of that happened. I had to hire another company to fix it all thus being double charged for some simple work. Don't make the same mistake I did. Not a reputable company!
