Mark is amazing! Show's up on your doorstep first thing in the morning and just plunges right in.... literally! He's come over to fix our disposal and our toilet in the past few months and is super nice and quick to get back to you. Thanks Mark!

I can confirm what other Yelpers have already indicated: Mark is fast, accommodating, friendly, and extremely professional. Took care of my problem without any trouble, I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

I live in a big old house with lots of upkeep issues, and when we have one leak, it's almost always the worst case scenario. Mark was able to come by to look at our leak on one of the many snow-days this winter, figure out what was wrong, and was able to replace a part of our stack quickly and efficiently. He cleaned up all the trash inside the house, as promised, and was patient while dealing with myself and two other roommates as we argued about how much of the stack we wanted to replace.

Mark does not do any drain-cleaning or contract work, which means we wound up paying extra when he had to call in the drain-cleaner to diagnose our plumbing issue. At the end of the project, my roommates called a contractor to fix drywall that was removed to access the stack and a few separate issues. The contractor claimed he would have done the same plumbing, plus the wall, floor, and tile work for the same price we paid Mark. I felt Mark did a good job for a decent price, but I don't have a lot of experience with plumbers and my roommates thought we could have gotten everything done for cheaper. Had we done more of this work ourselves, price probably would not have been as much of an issue.

In total, Mark did a good job, was very responsive whenever I called him, and was generally pleasant to work with. He carefully explained anything I did not understand and was quick to answer any questions by phone or email.

Mark Weinerman is a fine professional, a master plumber and an amazing person.

We had been having problems with our toilets and our kitchen sink, but kept postponing the repairs because we had had a couple of experiences with unnamable shysters and we didn't know anyone who we could trust with the job. When we couldn't procrastinate anymore, we resorted to Yelp and picked Mark because of his ratings. We really hit the jackpot!

Mark responded to our call immediately. Even though it was a Friday, he promised to come the very next day. And so he did: Saturday at 7:20 in the morning, here he was already, checking everything out and explaining to us, in very clear terms, what the problems were and how they could be fixed. That same day, he emailed us a very fair and reasonable estimate, and ordered the parts we needed. A couple of days later he came, right on time again. He fixed one toilet's guts, installed a brand new one in another bathroom and replaced the faucets in our kitchen sink. He was so clean my wife wouldn't have known he had been there, were it not for the new, great looking stuff he installed.

Mark not only has impeccable manners: he is a genuinely nice and respectful person who makes you feel totally at ease in his company. He goes well beyond what should be expected of him. When we were unsure of the type of faucets we would prefer, instead of having us look them up in the internet, he brought several back with him so we could choose! He even came back to tighten the bolts in our new toilet -again on a Saturday morning, with Philly still covered in ice and snow. I don't really know anybody who would do that.

We are really happy we met Mark through Yelp. You will be too.

After seeing the reviews here I decided to call Mark at JB Plumbing and Heating about my toilet, which would not flush- at all, in addition to overflowing onto the floor three times in the past week. I called at 3pm Monday and he said he could be here the next morning but understood if I wanted to call around, as it is the only bathroom in my house. I said okay, let me call you back and went to look around for other plumbers. After an hour of looking through reviews of any plumbers I could find I was feeling more and more desperate for a reliably reviewed one, so I called Mark back. He took down my information, verified my street's location (a small side street that only exists for a few blocks) and the arrival time. He said he had a job scheduled for 7:30 in the morning and asked what my schedule was like and what time I needed to leave for work in the morning and offered to come over beforehand at 6:45am. I said that I'd be home all day and he said he could come at 6:45 or 8:30 and left it to my preference- we agreed on 8:30. At 8:30 the next morning he was at my front door handing me his card and a call magnet (to 'verify his identity' and all). He looked at everything that needed done (a working toilet was the priority, he also looked at the sink and shower which need repairs of significantly lesser urgency) and after seeing the toilet and asking about any other draining issues, said I needed a whole new toilet. This is exactly what I expected to hear- it was very old, had clearly been replaced in bits and pieces (which he also noted) and was way overdue to be replaced- I'd even been told last April by another contractor, who had previously proven trustworthy, that it was really on its last legs. Actually, I was downright thankful to hear that he'd replace it (rather than trying to sell doing some patchy stuff that maybe would buy a couple more months and end up being more expensive, as some lesser apt contractors might be prone to do). He took down my landlord's number and said he'd call her and get back to me.

Five minutes later I got a call saying he was out front. He'd spoken to my landlord already, got an okay to do work on the toilet (and the other work next month, by my landlord's preference) and asked about my schedule. He said he wasn't sure he could get it in later today after another job, but would pick up a new toilet for me this afternoon and could be here in the morning, impending snow storm allowing, and would call me later.

Two hours later I got a call saying he was on his way to pick up the new toilet and could be here in half an hour if it was okay with my schedule. I cleared everything I could out of the bathroom (because it is very small) and he was here in exactly half an hour. He and his assistant, Steve, unloaded everything (still in original packaging), parked and were working within ten minutes. He estimated thirty minutes for the work. Steve put drop cloths over all the carpeting outside the bathroom and under their toolbox, took all the pieces from the old toilet outside in boxes as soon as they were coming out, kept everything neat and orderly and had all the new pieces assembled and ready to go. They checked in with each other that each item was ready and all tightening and whatnot was done and seemed to be a good and conscientious team. Due to poor craftsmanship (i.e. totally wrong) by a prior contractor, a tile piece, which was stuck with the old toilet, came up and needed to be patched, which they took the time to do very nicely. The job took maybe forty minutes rather than the estimated thirty, but in forty minutes they took out the old toilet, boxed and disposed of (took with them to dispose of) all the old pieces and all rubbish, bits, etc. created, replaced the entire toilet (and seals), patched in the floor around it (an unexpected ten minutes), cleaned the bathroom and their prep area and were completely finished.

I would definitely recommend Mark (and Steve) to anyone. They were professional, very courteous, prompt, remarkably efficient and kindly entertained all my questions about whats and whys. In 22 hours I went from initial contact to having a completely new toilet and clean bathroom. Mark really seems like the kind of contractor that does the work that needs to be done and does it right because his reputation is attached to it. This is a number I will definitely keep in my phone for future use and will call again for my sink and shower repairs later.

-On another note, I happened to be off and home for the day already, but I would feel comfortable with these two coming in and doing work if I couldn't be here.

One word for Mark W - AWESOME. We live in San Francisco but own a condo in Old City. Got a call on a saturday evening from our tenant about a leak.. the leak turned out to be an all out flood due to our old water heater. It not only flooded the unit, but caused a mess on 2 floors and the basement. Mark worked with us and our tenant in Philly to schedule an early visit on Monday.. replaced the water heater on Tuesday.. gave us a fixed price and there were zero surprises.. as property owners - Peace of Mind was worth every penny we paid to Mark..

I've had an old, cranky gas boiler giving me trouble for a couple of years now. I rigged and tried as far as I could within my own ability and finally had to throw the towel in and call a pro. I saw Mark well-reviewed here and have a couple of friends he did work for also recommend.

Great experience, fair price. Mark did the needed repairs really quick. He also showed me how to take care of a few other things I need to get around to doing myself. Not so stoked to have to replace my boiler and hot water heater at the end of the season, but I knew that was coming and am real glad to have met the right man for the job. Real pleasant, friendly guy all around which brings the sort of added comfort and sense of familiarity that makes these experiences a lot more easygoing.

Freezing day; heater acting up and dripping; PGW guy explains that the insurance won't cover it, need a plumber.... Called a couple of plumbers recommended by friends who are contractors, all of whom were booked until after the weekend. Called Mark who literally showed up in minutes, first doubted whether any work was necessary, then saw what was wrong. He offred a quote that seemed very reasonable to me to drain the 3-story radiator system, replace the circulation fan... and then started immediately. Incredibly efficient.

Mark did really good work in my house. I had major plumbing work that needed to be done. He was good with communication, quick to arrange meetings and the estimate. The prices are not the rock bottom cheapest, but the service certainly makes up for it.

Overall, I recieved good service from Mark, would use him again, and definitely recommend him for jobs big and small.

in looking for a plumber, i turned to yelp.

based on all the positive reviews, i gave jb plumbing a call on wednesday afternoon. mark was at my house at 6:45am on thursday as planned to give me an estimate. after a quick look mark quoted me a fair and reasonable price on the job, and we planned for him to come back the next day to do the job. to my pleasant surprise, mark called me around noon on that same day of the estimate asking if i was still at home. he was in the neighborhood and figured to do my job since he had time.

in and out in under 30 minutes. clean, friendly, professional.

highly recommend this JB for any plumbing needs.

was so impressed with the service, i actually signed up for a yelp account, and thus my first review.
