I had a small faucet repair and Bob Jansky recommended his associate Brian Callahan.
I needed a faulty faucet handle replaced which i had the parts for.After about an hour and a half Brian was finally able to figure it out. He insisted on showing me his license ( which I suspect is phony) and pointed out to me that there were no hot and cold shut off handles for that sink. He told me it was a simple fix and he had the parts in his truck. He said he was always in the area and would be glad to come by and do it.There was no mention of money.
The following Monday he showed up with parts purchased from a supply store plus a new screw driver which he said he bought for me.
After about 10 minutes he said job was complete and charged me an additional $120.00 including the cost of the screwdriver.
After he left I went to use the sink. No running water. I thought he just forgot to turn the water back on. Fine, I'll just do it myself using the new shut off handles he just installed. Both handles just spun around not doing anything.
I called repeatedly to have him come back and fix the problem. Calls were repeatedly ignored.
If the idiot had remembered to turn the water back on I might never have noticed.
Buyer beware.

Bob is a great guy with hands made from magic. He fixed and replaced a rotten four inch cast iron stack from the basement to the roof over the weekend when i had plumbing problems up to my eyeballs.... with a family emergency unexpectedly. So my sister and brother with their family planned on staying overnight for the following Monday and Tuesday for a wake. He did come through like he said he would with a better than expected and reasonable price. The quality of work was there. Impressed and with now having trust in him I had him instal two Navien boiler and hot water combination units one in my house and another in the newly renovated inlaw apartment. Planning on having him remodel a half bath next if he can fit me in.

Chose this company because my father knew his father. Needed new sink, toilet etc in the bathroom. Jansky and his co-worker Eric Driscoll came to my home to begin work. They were messy and disorganized. To make a long story short when ""finished"" we found that the new sink would not drain properly..sink filling up..Jansky said ""that is because it is new""..it will go down..this is after he used the new toilet and you can only imagine what that means..disgusting. Anyway the sink never did fix itself and we contacted both Jansky and Driscoll about this..Jansky said he would charge $100.00 just to come over and look, that we waited too long to tell him even though this was told to him during the initial job, and Driscoll left voice messages saying he would be over to fix it..we hired another plumber last week and were informed that the pipe in the bathroom was NEVER CLEANED OUT by the plumber who installed it and that the drain plug was installed incorrectly. We have recently filed court papers against this company for their inefficient work...bill from new plumber with his findings as well as the voice mail messages will make this a slam dunk.

I agree, with Peters review, I myself called Jansky Mechanical about 3 weeks ago ..My Heat and Hot Water completely stopped working ..This Company was recommended,threw a neighbor, So I called ,and I got a appt the same day!! and the job was somewhat difficult, yet these guys got my heat and hot water working again .. I was thrilled with their professionalism and knowledge, and my bill was reasonable. I highly recommend this company .

Bob is a liar and a thief! stay away.
I called him to fix my boiler, and he said he would charge $150 + parts.
He came right away and found that I need to replace the gas automatic damper. When I asked how much it costs, he made a phone call (or pretended to), then said with a sad face ""It's gonna be $650"". quick search at google revealed this part actually cost $105, and it's like 10 min work to replace it.
Bob still asked to be paid $150 for coming and finding the problem, and stupidly i paid him, because I was under pressure, and couldn't think straight. Hope you enjoy it Bob!

On those occasions when we need help, be it plumbing or mechanical, we are always relieved to have Jansky in our corner. Even though our latest call indicated that it was not an emergency and could wait a couple of days, Bob Jansky still called us back on the weekend. Can't recommend these guys highly enough. Fast, efficient and reasonable pricing.

I needed to get a quote for converting my heating system from Oil to Natural Gas. I contacted several companies for quotes, as recommended by Mass Save. I am a busy man, and these companies like to come look at the system before making an estimate, and were only available during the week. So I had to take work off to meet with plumbers. So I only had to take one day off, I scheduled more than one contractor to come the same day. Jansky came early to the appointment, which was fine, and he gave a fair verbal estimate, but as he was leaving a second contractor showed up.

10 days later when I still had not received the written estimate, I called Jansky to ask the status. He told me I had no class, and was rude for having more than one contractor at my home. First of all, if he showed up at our scheduled time they would not have overlapped, and secondly, why am I rude and classless for wanting to get multiple estimates?

He told me he was not interested in my job because I was rude and hung up on me... No sir. He was the rude one. I told him I would be telling the internet of our interaction, then he threatened to sue me for slander!! This guys seriously lacks people skills, and I would not recommend him to anyone. Look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.
