I cannot even believe I've just had the experience I did with Janke Plumbing. I called them on Monday to request work that has been waiting until the weather warmed up. When speaking with Jim, he made it absolutely clear that he preferred speaking with my maintenance man - or really anyone other than a woman. I gave him the phone number and then he never called. Now, 2 days later, I call to ask about the repair to which Jim replied in a raised voice, ""Listen! Listen to me!"" I was shocked. I said, ""Jim, I don't know why you're yelling at me, when all I'm trying to do is explain the repair. He then, in a full-on yelling voice, told me if I didn't want to listen to him that I could find someone else to do the work. PERFECT!!! I called Thomas Plumbing and they were pleasant and they'll be out on Friday. So Jim, the WOMAN you wanted to talk down to is a Regional Manager with 25 years of experience. The maintenance MAN you wanted to speak with has 1.5 yrs. And the WOMAN you just yelled at and hung up will tell every single person she knows in property management and otherwise what an egotistical, sexist jackass that you are.
