We used James Remodeling for our kitchen remodel. James and his crew showed up as promised each day and left the job site cleaner than when they showed up. His crew of 4-5 professionals, each knows their role in the job and work together like a well oiled machine. His crew took care of everything from the removal of the soffit, all of the electrical ( outlets to recessed lighting), plumbing, drywall repair, texturing as well as installation of all of the new appliances.
Our experiences with James Remodeling was nothing but positive from start to finish.

I second all the positive comments made by the other reviewers. James is extremely honest, professional, competent, and personally involved in all that his crew does. Doing a gut renovation of my two bathrooms, he worked out solutions to many unexpected problems arising from substandard prior renovations, and the city building inspector repeatedly praised his work. My only complaint was that coordination was not good between James and Laguna Kitchen & Bath (which originally referred James, and was responsible for certain aspects of the project). Given a complex process with much back-and-forth between the two companies, and imprecise contracts that did not make clear who was responsible for many of the details, it put a huge burden on the homeowner to be the mediator and scheduler.

Nonetheless, I'm extremely happy with the results, and I highly recommend James.

James is a true professional. He shows up when promised, does excellent work and provides valuable insight.

His crew is a wonder to behold. They all know what they are supposed to do and move quickly and efficiently toward completion. James in always on hand and moves from crewmember to crewmember to ensure that they are not only moving things forward, but are doing quality work.

James and his team were involved with a recent kitchen/bathroom remodel in our home. He took care of some demo, plumbing, electrical, prep work, drywall, painting, and appliance installation. If we didn't have to use sub-contractors to complete the other work (shower tiling and cabinet installation), it would have been ideal.

James may come across a little brusque at first, but it is only because he wants to make sure that expectations are correctly set up front. He wants to know your expectations and communicates his. If you want to do something that doesn't make sense, he will tell you right off the bat. I appreciate that sort of feedback.

On a side note, I don't recommend Pacific Kitchen and Flooring for cabinet work. My recommendation is to stick with James, but use somebody else for the cabinets.

We are very happy with James and his crew, and will certainly use him for upcoming future projects! See you soon, James.

Working with James was a great experience. Very professional and up to date with the Codes and Building regulations. Took care of my house as if it's their own home. Very clean and have all the right tools and equipments. I highly recommend them to all the home owners in need of any type of work.

We recently contracted with James to work on various phases of our master bathroom major remodeling project. He and his crew did the demolition, framing, electrical, plumbing, painting and finish carpentry. James was very meticulous, paid attention to detail and was was extremely knowlegdeable. His crew was very efficient, focused on protecting our furniture and flooring and were very courteous. If there were any questions, James always sought our input. All in all, our experience was quite pleasant and we highly recommend James for his hard work and integrity! In fact, we had James and his crew come back to install an attic ladder system, which they completed flawlessly... great job!

James helped us with a big home remodel, including two large bathrooms, flooring, complete kitchen remodel, tearing down walls, and reframing for a panoramic patio door. We had other companies involved for patio door installation and James and his crew came to the rescue when the other companies' work was subpar. He caught and rectified several mistakes by other companies and fixed them and saved us a lot of money and headache in the process.

Always on time, project went as planned, and the house came out great! I've referred James to several of my friends and they have been equally as impressed by his work.

This review sucks to write because we liked the work James showed us and his level of confidence.

Unfortunately, he came out to give us a quote and after cutting holes in our ceiling we never heard from him again and we never even received the quote or even a rough estimate. It would have been nice to at least say he didn't want the job or something because it left us in a really bad position and all of our timelines were destroyed. It was a very costly mistake taking his word that he could accomplish the task in 4-7 days.

We had to get rescued by a handful of companies that do great work and their reviews will follow shortly. It's taking time to get them all written due to all the work going on.

It should be noted that James was recommend by Ron at Pacific Kitchen Bath & Flooring who also came out. I believe they are partners.

James and his team are very caring and professional! They are flat out amazing! They did an incredible job with my kitchen remodel including all of the electrical, plumbing, and running a gas line for my cooktop. James pays attention to detail and goes over and above to make everything perfect! He was wonderful with my inspection making sure everything was ready when the inspector arrived. The inspector was so impressed that everything was done so well and by code. I can't say enough, you don't find this kind of professional very often...one of a kind!!

James did an awesome job with my kitchen remodel. He knows how to do everything-electrical, plumbing, stucco, painting, etc., and he does it well! It is so difficult to find good general contractors these days, and James is reliable, thorough, and an expert at what he does. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and real estate clients!

James is awesome! i have worked with many contractors in the past and he and his workers are as good as it gets. he makes sure the jobs are kept clean and done right.

i added many items as we went along and some contractors seem to view additions/changes as a problem; these additions and changes were never a problem and were addressed with a positive attitude.

i added walls, filled in niches, added LED lights throughout the house along with extensive plumbing work. everything passed San Clemente inspection on the first try.

as others have mentioned he is honest and am glad i found his company.
